Poor baby - run home to mummy!

So, not only had Prince Andrew run home to mummy, The Queen has let it be known to the regiment that she wants the Duke of York to remain as colonel, and the feeling is that nobody wants to do anything that could cause upset to the colonel-in-chief.'
What about those who have been hurt by this so far by these allegations...... Diddums - poor Andrew, I wonder if The Queen spoon feeds him his breakfast and wipes his botty for him also!

Yes that was two days ago, he has temporarily stepped down because of the allegations

Grany’s post, Charles is revealed to be operating cash for honours’.

Expect she got over excited

trisher Mon 06-Sept-21 13:04:42

There was item saying the head of his charity had "stepped down" because of such allegations

Anniebach Mon 06-Sept-21 11:56:40

No mention on the news this morning that it has been revealed
Charles accepts cash for honours.

Grany Mon 06-Sept-21 11:13:29

@GerryHassan

The UK Royal Family plc for Sale. Yet more reputational damage to the UK Royals as Prince Charles is revealed to be operating #CashforHonours. Even a decade ago a cartoon like this would have been unthinkable in The Times. By Morten Morland.

Two minor corrections:

Petera for the purposes of sexual offences committed against children, a child is a person under 16.

trisher Stephen Ward did commit suicide, but not in jail.

Absolutely agree with your posts Casdon.

Just a fairly major correction as this is very important. The law says nothing of the sort and there are a range of sexual offences that defined as offences committed against children under 18; for example abuse committed by someone in a position of trust.

What the law actually say is that it is not, in many but not all cases, illegal to have sex with a 16-year old, but it still very clearly defines that person as a child.

PA must be fitter than he looks. According to the title of this thread he ran home to mummy and has also run "home to Balmoral with Fergie". Doesn't he have a car?

Odd that Newatthis has not returned at all to explain her rather childish thread title. Or indeed to say anything else.
If I’ve missed it I’ll have happily have cream with my humble pie.

Various committees review nominations and decide yes/no or what level to award.

Alegrias1 Mon 06-Sept-21 09:13:00

Personal experience of nominating people, before I was worldly wise smile

Anniebach Mon 06-Sept-21 09:11:40

I know, how do you know ?

Alegrias1 Mon 06-Sept-21 09:04:19

You don't get put forward for an OBE, you just get put forward for recognition and some unknown person decides what you're worth, or if you're worth anything at all.

Ask me how I know wink

Anniebach Mon 06-Sept-21 09:00:29

I am a yes/no person re the honours lists.

Celebrity lovies ? No. Sir Paul Maccartney, Dame Judi Dench etc.

Big business ? No. Sir Richard Branson etc.

Joe/ Joan Blogs? yes, they have done much for their communities and have been put forward for an OBE by their
community to say thank you.

Alegrias1 Mon 06-Sept-21 08:25:41

I really, REALLY don't understand this desire to have letters after your name based on whether the RF or the government think you're a good chap/chapess ?. Why would having yourself addressed as Dame Alegrias matter to a person? I have much more respect for people who turn the honours down.

Why is the Queens Diamond Jubilee 2012 causing such an
uproar in 2021 ?

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 05-Sept-21 14:02:01

Perhaps it’s the Royal ‘ran’ where he shuffles slowly towards his car.

Fawcett hasn’t resigned. He has stood down for a while. I think this is the third time he has been involved in a scandal. Wasn’t the last one when he got in trouble for selling Charles’ unwanted gifts? Of course Charles knows exactly what’s going on and supports him wholeheartedly. Once HMQ dies so much stuff will come out in the wash concerning Charles, our heads will be spinning.

Zennomore I haven’t read the full thread, but I saw your post.
I left school in 1988. During my time at school, one male teacher was jailed for having sex with a female pupil /s. Another married teacher got a vulnerable girl pregnant.
When I moved onto A levels, a married lecturer in his late fifties had an ‘affair’ with a 17 year old student. He subsequently divorced his wife and married his student.
Meanwhile, a very high profile man married a 17 year old girl, potentially with SEN.

Similar happened at the school I attended. In fact the teacher who got a pupil pregnant and subsequently married her when my Mum was at the school was still teaching the remedial class twenty years later angry I'd like to think things like that don't happen now but honestly, who on earth would have thought that was ok? sad

Anniebach Sun 05-Sept-21 13:35:58

Sorry, Pizza Express .

theworriedwell Sun 05-Sept-21 13:29:19

Anniebach

trisher you brought Mandy Rice Davies into the discussion

Andrew’s daughter has no recollection of the party when she was 12, the family who hosted the party confirmed she was at
the party that afternoon but not Andrew.

I don’t believe the pizza hut claim , why wasn’t Fergie there

I know it isn't important but it was Pizza Express wasn't it?

Do many people have memories about specific parties when they were 12? I'm just amazed people can so accurately remember the date of parties and who was there years later. Also the date they went to Pizza Express. I'd struggle to tell you what I had for dinner last Monday. In fact I have no clue what I had for dinner last Monday, I know I had my GC here but I can't remember if they stayed for dinner, they probably did but if someone asked me to swear an oath on it I couldn't. My memory must be worse than I thought.

Deeply damaging claims in both the Mail on Sunday and Sunday Times that Prince Charles's closest aide Michael Fawcett fixed honours for a Saudi Tycoon who donated £1.5million to royal charities. Fawcett has tonight resigned. But how deep does this go?

Let’s be clear. It’s inconceivable that one of Charles’s aides did this without his full knowledge and urging. Charles needs to be the subject of the investigation.

And then there’s the Queen’s dinner for despots. thetimes.co.uk/article/outrage-over-queens-dine-with-a-despot-jubilee-lunch-89w3nwgmbg2

He used to be his aide. He's something to do with charity now, The Prince's Trust or something.

theworriedwell Sun 05-Sept-21 13:11:52

Newatthis

He ran home to Balmoral with Fergie.

It's the family holiday.

Anniebach Sun 05-Sept-21 13:10:17

Is Mandy Rice Davies ?

trisher Sun 05-Sept-21 12:47:33

Have I missed out somehow? Is Shami Chakrabarti now part of the Royal Family? Her only way in would be to marry and only Andrew is available. Oh Shami how could you stoop so low?shock

Alegrias1 Sun 05-Sept-21 12:20:00

Did I Annie? Thanks for letting me know.
