Also our car needs a good run out being 3.5 litre diesel it has been affected by lockdown lol
Farage fails to report 5 million gift!
More reports this morning of Insulate Britain causing absolute chaos on parts of the M25
Apparently the police are now taking more decisive action to remove them and not before time
Blue paint has also been poured onto the road in a bid to disrupt more traffic
They will get little sympathy for this ridiculous type of action that the police seem to have been very slow to clear Sure a few HGVs could clear them quicker

Good idea
No we prefer our own transport and Bournemouth is usually a good run of about 3 hours
Will consider Northampton Oxford instead
Could you catch the train? One of my sons caught the train to Bournemouth and I think it was just a change at Kings X/St P iirc
The A1 is not much fun under normal circumstances but it's really doing my head on atm, especially in a morning as I am tired and irritable anyway
Sounds fun JaneJudge you have my sympathises We are due to go to Bournemouth and usually use A1 M25 M3 May rethink our route if these blockages are still going on
I have to travel daily on the A1(M) in rush hour and it's backing up all the way to Stevenage at the moment
Noticed on this mornings news protesters been running into live lanes on the M25 bringing both sides to a halt
Sorry but total idiots
vegansrock rosie51 if someone causes an accident whilst on mobile phone then yes they are culpable and should be prosecuted. Did I in any way indicate I thought otherwise? Of course there should be prosecutions if there is sufficient evidence. I use the M25 regularly so do understand its problems, however not using the M25 can result in a much longer journey.
Do you have any thoughts on the stroke victim? Or indeed any others who may today suffer a medical emergency as a result of these deliberate blockages? Protest comes with responsibilities, however righteous your cause.
rosie51 if someone causes an accident whilst on mobile phone then yes they are culpable and should be prosecuted. Prosecutions for use of mobiles, satnav etc are incredibly low , yet I bet I could go out now and spot several drivers doing this, even on motorways. I was recently stuck on the M4 for 2 hours after an idiot had a minor shunt and all 3 lanes closed, then 2 lanes were closed and eventually all cleared but it was a 2 hour tailback . This is an almost daily occurrence on our motorways . If you expect to get somewhere quickly using the M25 forget it. Getting held up is so common it’s almost expected. The one thing these protesters have done is draw attention to their cause. Maybe writing to your MP or standing in Whitehall with placards is preferable but is it really effective? Perhaps someone could suggest an effective method of drawing attention to the climate emergency to things get done now.
Pritti Patel's rocket to the Met and Home Counties police chiefs has made a difference-NOT. In one ear........................

If we had a thread about every time the M25 was closed because of an idiot driver on mobile phone, playing with satnav having an accident , then this would be updated daily. Rarely prosecuted or even points on licence. At least this bunch are doing it for a good cause. No, I don’t think it’s an effective tactic btw I think it’s a good cause.
Those idiot drivers aren't doing it on purpose though are they? And how do you know they don't get points on their licences? The M25 may have lane closures at some point frequently, but it isn't brought to a standstill every day, unless you can provide evidence? The cause may be good, but the arrogance behind the chosen way of protesting is astounding. They know a stroke victim has been irreparably harmed by an earlier gridlock they deliberately engineered, but apparently her health was OK to be sacrificed by them, and they don't care if the same happens again. Why not protest and cause a gridlock outside parliament, inconvenience the actual people who have influence on policy?

I don't approve of their methods - but I do support their cause. 'M25 protesters chaos' is nothing compared to the result of doing little to change things.
Floods, droughts, rising sea levels, wildfires, hurricanes, famines and wars will be far more disruptive.
How do you suggest they get the point across to the head-in-the-sand deniers?
I think the general public are already aware of climate change and do what they can, it’s Governments worldwide and the multi-nationals who need to do their bit rethinking infrastructure and power sources.
Inconveniencing people trying to do their jobs will never achieve anything in my opinion.

It won’t stop people believing that global warming is happening but if you want support for a cause, don’t do things which are part of the problem-e.g. cause pollution by long-standing traffic, use of plastic drink bottles for supporters etc.

All it will do is set people against the cause as well as against the protesters.
Are you saying that because there are protesters on the M25 that people will begin to disbelieve that global warming is happening?
All it will do is set people against the cause as well as against the protesters.
We do what we can Climate wise at home and at work, but putting businesses at risk and the knock on effect to the workforce will never get the general public on the side of the protesters.

Sorry vegansrock, nuanced opinions are not allowed.
You're either with us or agin us.
You won't get anywhere on here trying to put forward realistic opinions. Ill informed ranting and playing the victim, that's the order of the day.
Totally wrong Alegrias1 if and when suitable long wheel base electric vans are produced which gave the capacity in both weight and distance we shall purchase them.
We recently had to purchase new diesel vans thanks to Mr.Khan’s ULEZ scheme in London, trying to sell 2 yr old vans which have a long road life virtually impossible.

We send drivers round the M25 daily, I suppose we could just fold the Company and put people out of work, that would save a lot of emissions…

Junction 18 (Rickmansworth) another busy junction, let’s hope no one is injured…
More reported protesters this morning let's hope this time the police remove them quickly
Rosie51 Refer to my posts yesterday 9:05 and 9:44. I can't put a disclaimer on every post I make.

Criticise them for what they did, not something someone has made up to make it appear even worse than it really is.
Nobody gets to say their actions have killed people when it is not true.
If that was to me, then I thought that was what I did. I agreed with you that inaccurate accusations were wrong, and harmful. Another lady who had had a stroke got stuck in the traffic and her outcome has been very badly affected by the delay, I believe. and yet still you don't condemn the actions of creating the traffic jam that kept her from appropriate treatment for 5 hours.
