That’s lovely, muse, such a good simple idea.

In the past I have made cross stitch Christmas cards, a simple design set in a window-type card. Perhaps a simple nativity scene of the stable and the star, or an outline of a church and spire? Places like The Range have kits.

Another idea is to use old Christmas cards to make a layered decoupage effect.

Great idea, the decoupage. If you don’t have any old Christmas cards, maybe a cheap assorted box would give you the wherewithal? I’m not remotely artistic so something like that would be my choice.

I like to make cards for family and a few friends. Last year I did a version of this one. String. You could thread beads onto it as well if there were just a few branches.

I used black card with gold and silver thread.

I did a lot of cross stitch cards last year.

One or two, I did in a shape that could easily be cut out, which I backed with felt, added a small loop of thread for hanging, and attached to the card in such a way that if the recipient wanted, they could detach it from the card to keep and hang on the tree in the future.

A stag with a 'necklace of beads' made up of Christmas religious characters caught up in his antlers?

Help!
My WI federation is launching a Christmas card competition using any medium.
I don’t like embossing, no good at painting, but best at sewing/embroidery/ knitting etc. I prefer more religious scenes, but am not fussy.
Any ideas ?. TIA
