To be honest it wouldn't cross my mind to buy gluten free for Halloween treats .

I praise your thoughts behind these treats travelsafar. The children will love them and I am sure the adults and children with allergies will ask first.

I wonder how many people have bought in gluten free treats - just in case.

Not all children are accompanied.

What a lovely thoughttravelsafar I would be happy to have one.

I think the biscuits were intended for children kitty and I assume gluten free falls into the allergy category, I stand corrected if not.

Those sound wonderful, travelasfar, but someone told me last year that anything offered needed to have a wrapper of some sort, so little fingers who touch but don't take don't spread anything nasty. Maybe you could put a little bit of cellophane and black ribbon round them, make them look more spooky? Just saying, but it's a lovely thing that you have made the effort for, well done you!!

Yes I think it is a lovely idea, but I also think that your daughter has a point. Difficult.

Well, I couldn't eat your biscuits unless they are gluten free.

I'm sure they will be much appreciated.
Any leftovers will be very welcome on GN!

We haven't had anyone call for years but I always just buy a few sweets in case. DH bought some chocolate eyeballs too

You've done a really lovely thing. Sounds fun and delicious. I will be knocking on your door at about 6pm tomorrow evening. BOO! Trick or treat!! cupcake grin

What a lovely thought.
Wish I lived in your road, I’d dress up for one of those biscuits, they sound delicious.
Agree with the last poster. Older children will know their allergies and younger ones should be accompanied.
Happy Halloween ?

Covid is not passed on by eating biscuits, or by eating food handled by others, it’s by droplets or aerosols. I’m sure you thoroughly wash your hands.
Young children should be accompanied by an adult, older ones will be aware of their own allergies.
I think you’ve made lovely biscuits out of kindness, so go ahead feeling chuffed!
We don’t get any callers and don’t bake!

I have made a couple of trays of the above for Sunday in anticipation of children knocking on my door. When i said to my daughter what i was going to do she said' dont want to burst your bubble mum, but it might not be a good idea, so many kids have allergies these days, plus of course there is Covid' you could have knocked me down with a feather. Anyway this morning i went ahead but bore in mind the allergies issues, no spices, or nuts, just a very basic cookie mix. I have not used food colourings either, just plain white icing and chocolate vermacelli and additive free sugar strands. Should i have done them or not what would you have done.???
