Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here but looks cold and dry outside , maybe frosty as well.
Yesterday, turned out to be a good day for me , I went into Bicester early , and also saw a few people acknowledging me, I got some Fish & Chips takeaway wise ,as the BT engineer could arrive anytime after 1.
To add landline resolved , due to a faulty phone around 10 years , the engineer described it when he rang my number I sounded if I was stood 100 metres away from the phone ,anyway lucky that I had brought another sometime back which was on charge , we did the phone swap and the newer one works perfect.
Today , I plan getting bus to Buckingham ,and then go to Bicester for a short while , returning via Buckingham , may have a snack there , as I may get a Chinese take away later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a miserable Glasgow.
A much cheerier thread this morning, with lots of good news.

Good to see you back Pants, we missed you!
Covid warriors on the mend, Mick's phone problem solved, Bluesapphire testing negative, great to hear.

I am having a gentle, relaxing day today, hopefully DD and SIL will visit. SIL has been ill for weeks with that super cold and wanted to stay away from me. (Who could blame him?)
Yesterday DD kept sending me photos of half opened jars and packets of food, asking if I wanted them. ( They are selling their flat and clearing out cupboards) After receiving about ten photos, I told her just to stop taking photos, to bring the lot, I wasn't too proud to accept out of date food! I hate waste!
I shall have a trawl through it, to see if it's safe.
However, this behaviour worries me. It indicates that they are planning to move in with us soon. Help!!!! My son in law can't wait, but can I? wink!

Hoping the dreaded steroids are helping, Gwen and your family are on the mend soon, Susan.

Wishing you all a gentle, peaceful day.

Oops message went too soon. Hoping to get big Xmas cake baked today, unless, I suddenly find myself having Dgs while DD2 is out shopping
Hope everyone has a great day today whatever the weather.

Good morning all. Had a busy week and a fall at work so embarrassing working with younger girls and the old girl had a fall! Just tripped but black and blue thigh size of an England map! Hurt boobs and side and feel a bit down with the pain. Never mind a lovely dry day some washing and ironing and pottering about. Hopefully a bit fitter for Monday. Hope everyone is ok and love reading your daily reports.

Greyduster Sat 06-Nov-21 08:31:46

Good morning, Michael, and all GNs. Good to hear you got your phone woes sorted, Mick. It’s very grey in South Yorkshire but dry at the moment. We both slept badly so are not in a “getting up any time soon” mood. I am making curry today for a family meal tomorrow and will do some ironing. Then I have a book to start if time allows. Oh and the Christmas cake is due for its first “feed” if I can wrestle the Grouse bottle off DH! He thinks it’s a total waste of good spirit!
I hope the day has good things in store for you all.

Good morning from North Wales. Milder this morning.

I think my 2 year old GS has learned sarcasm early. While out walking with his mum they stepped aside on the narrow path to allow some people to get past. Not one said thank you so my GS piped up with "Thankoo. Cheers!"
His mum was pleased but he obviously didn't realise that he had reprimanded them.

My walk was hard yesterday as my hip is stiff and sore. Have I got arthritis I wonder?
Enjoy Saturday everyone. Hope for a better day for those who are ill or sad

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is dry and bright.
We are going out this morning to try and find a tall, thin artificial Chr...mas tree. We only have limited space to put it so the search is on.
DD1's family are all recovering well, eldest granddaughter returned to school yesterday after nearly three weeks but her daddy tested positive so a little way for the family to go before they are all recovered.
I think DH will be watching the rugby this afternoon, it's one game after another so he will be happy. I am going to finish my book which is rather good.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone whatever you may have in store xxx

Morning from S Lanarkshire, looks rather dull this morning and trees moving in the wind.

Had a lovely long walk yesterday with a lifelong friend and then a good coffee in a well spaced out cafe. The only downside was driving home. I hadn’t appreciated just how early darkness is descending now and did not enjoy a lot of the drive home in busy traffic, definitely a lesson learned.

Nice to see Pantglas and her chamberpot back too!

Today I am going to start Christmas organisation, order cards from my chosen charities and try to decide on gifts etc. This is always challenging for a non creative person with who did not plan their family well and as result has three daughters, two sons in law and one granddaughter with birthdays in December. I then make things more difficult by ignoring the whole thing until it can no longer be put off!

Tonight I am going to have a ’sleepover’ with DD2 and family to enjoy Strictly together, and I’m looking forward to that.

Wishing everyone a good and peaceful weekend???

Good morning Mick, morning all from wet and windy South Lanarkshire.

I felt quite exhausted after my shift in the charity shop yesterday, I’m assuming it’s because of the lingering cold I’ve had but I’m wiped out so it will be a quiet day ahead.

Nice hear of everyone’s busyness, glad you got your phone problems sorted Mick. Welcome back Pantglas and welcome to you Harris27.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??

Good morning everyone from a dry south Manchester. I’m later this morning as I’ve luxuriated in a lie-in! This is the first time this week I’ve not had to set the alarm for 7am. Wonderful start to my Saturday.

No plans so will just see how the day unfolds. Himself has the local derby game to watch on tv at lunchtime. Our Yorkshire Lass and her partner are flying out to Hamburg today to visit his family for a week’s stay. I shall just potter, read and phone some friends. Ooh I might make a collage of some favourite photos I’ve printed off.

Right, Himself is up, making cuppa number 2 so I shall settle in to read all your doings now.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Stillearning I sympathise, we have two sons, three grandchildren and a daughter-in-law with November birthdays but gosh yours are December, always someone worse off ?

PollyTickle Sat 06-Nov-21 09:02:54

Ouch Harris

Sar53 I bought one from Wilko's for my apartment six years ago and it’s fine. They currently offer:-

Sorry, Sar, I see now that is discontinued. This might be more helpful:-

Sar, one year when we were pushed for space I bought a willow obelisk and decorated it with greenery and baubles, it did look good if I say so myself. In summer I used it for sweet peas, undecorated of course.

NotAGran55 Sat 06-Nov-21 09:21:13

Good morning from grey West Berkshire.

Thank you all for the kind wishes yesterday following my little operation. I’m a bit sore around the middle but other than that fine .
I’ve just booked my booster jab and next job is to book the man to clear the gutters. It’s like Niagara Falls when we get a downpour.
I have the annual oven clean and boiler service next week so that should be all the jobs covered whilst I’m home.

A day of relaxation follows ,listening to the football and giving myself a manicure and pedicure whilst it is on .

Take care and keep safe.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull Lancashire coast.
Driving to an opera gala tonight in Cheshire with pianist friend. As it’s a mini Glyndebourne type of place, it’s buried deep in the heart of the country, so hope I find it, even though i sang there myself in the 80s.
Still felt weird after flu/covid jab yesterday and painted rubbish in the art group, then sang in a practice in the afternoon. Glad to get home.
Glad your phone is sorted Mick.
Back later to read through and hope you all have a good weekend.

Urmstongran Sat 06-Nov-21 09:34:37

I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts this morning. And Pantglas plus Scentia both back in the same week - I’m joyous!

Poor you Harris27 that sounds like a painful wallop and your pride will have taken a dent too. I find a fall knocks one’s confidence for a while after. ? are for you so pop them in some water.

I’m nosy too - what are you reading Greyduster and Sar53? I love books so I’m always curious!

What a busy (frenetic) December you always have Stilllearning! I feel quite sanguine by comparison! Just the one family member here with a December birthday. A doddle compared with yours!

harrigran Sat 06-Nov-21 09:44:55

Good morning from a grey NE.
A day of paperwork beckons and my sister will visit this afternoon.
DS has been told that he can drive again, it is seven months since he first took ill and has had to depend on his wife to transport him. Still no definite diagnosis but several doctors suggested it was long covid.
Enjoy your weekend.

luluaugust Sat 06-Nov-21 09:45:52

Good morning all from a grey and overcast W Kent. Off to leave a couple of bags at the charity shop this morning, a railway exhibition this afternoon and Strictly this evening, a full day! I am also nosy about what is being read and enjoyed. Best wishes to all and oh dear Harris I know how that feels hope the bruises go soon.

aggie Sat 06-Nov-21 10:11:34

Good morning everyone
Just been out to disentangle the solar fairy lights from round the bushes! By gum ! It’s cold !

PollyTickle Sat 06-Nov-21 11:40:52

Weather warning Pantglas, AGA and any others in North Wales. Suddenly blowing a hoolie on Anglesey in a westerly direction with very dark clouds, if you see lots of leaves scudding along I apologise for not picking them up sooner.

Jaxjacky Sat 06-Nov-21 12:05:03

Lots of news since I posted, we’re home now.
Welcome back Pantglas ???
A fall Harris27 not good, bruised ego and body, recover quickly.
Lots of lovely ‘doings’ today.
Not seen Blossoming for a few days ?

Grammaretto Sat 06-Nov-21 12:06:43

Hi everyone !
I am late for the morning cut off but have enjoyed reading all the news.
It is gales and rain here in the Scottish Borders.

Polly so that's where all those flying leaves came from. It's blustery to say the least here now. Nearly lost the shed door as the wind whipped it out of my hand.
