Am I the only one to get annoyed at bad grammar ?

Eh ? Hate comments like this, not least because I then spend a silly amount of time going back through everyone's posts trying to spot it ! Does it really matter ? hmm

As long as i understand what`s been written, grammar really doesn`t bother me grannylyn65.

I spend between £60-£80 per week.
Shop mostly in sainsburys and top up in Aldi.

'How much do you spend?' - on what exactly - and how often?

I suppose some folks still do a weekly supermarket shop but I (like a lot of people) get most things delivered. I have no idea how much it averages out at, as I buy from various places, as and when.

For those of you who haven’t seen it already, the Ballad of Lidl and Aldi might give you a laugh.

We still seem to have a full store cupboard from the lockdowns...I really should check the dates on things.
kircubbin as long as you can afford the little extras, then just enjoy them.?

I went there today just for some cheese I particularly like. Came out with a cycling top, I do not cycle but it looked warm, fancy chocolate, storage containers, motion light, slipper socks and chutney. Forgot the cheese.

A typical Lidl shop then!

I keep thinking about the orchids DH didn't buy.
He said they were lovely!

We spend more on food than I would like, for the two of us. We have a fortnightly supermarket delivery for heavy items, costs between £60-100. Monthly order from the independent butcher, about £30, weekly buys from Co-op about £8, greengrocery about £8, then twice a week to Aldi for milk and other top ups, usually £8 but can be up to £20 occasionally. I make that around £320 a month, which I think is too much. It is a mixture of cheap stuff and top quality stuff eg meat. We do keep a good stock of non- perishables, so we are not actually consuming all we buy each month, so I guess it works out. But when I think what people on benefits have to manage on,….

DH went for a top-up shop this morning and said "they've got some lovely orchids for a fiver".
I asked him if he'd bought one or two and he said "No, did you want me to?"

Well, yes .....

Surely if you add on prosecco, expensive honey and a plant to your shopping list then you should expect it to cost a lot more than usual !

Hopefully your loo rolls and biscuits will last you a long time. Note for next time - stick to the shopping list.

Most weeks I spend £30/40 on a shop that’s just for me, then probably once a month I’ll replenish my store cupboard and spend double that. I am cutting down on meat and desserts at the moment though.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:17:39

You probably won't need as much next time, so it's swings and roundabouts?
For two of us I will spend anything between £45 - £80 on an on-line shop and might pop out for bits in between.

Just back from Lidl where I usually save quite a lot. I got a shock this time as I spent £60 after losing track of my list. The culprits were prosecco, a plant, big toilet roll pack and some unnecessary biscuits and dear honey.
This is only for one person but it seemed a lot.
