Should Boris do the decent thing and resign?

Boris lies consistently ajswan, there are numerous fact checks online from reputable news sources which prove that is the case. Here’s just one, but just name the topic and they are available.

This is not a Tory/Labour issue, I know people think that by saying how much they hate Labour it will detract from what Boris has done, but it really doesn’t. His behaviour is indefensible. All supporting him now does is make those people look like they have no morality either. The Tory Party must have people who could lead the country better than this, in fact it definitely has.

He needs s size 10 up his nether regions if he doesn't as do his colleagues who have all made a mockery of the British government.

I really can’t believe there are any Johnson supporters. He has no integrity whatsoever. He turns my stomach.

He should resign but he has no shame. Overnight he has become a father again and I expect that he will take paternity leave and hope that it will all blow over while he supervises nappy changing!

All those saying you we would rather have Boris Johnson as PM than Keir Starmer, what you are really saying is you prefer to have a lazy, lying, cheating, uncaring, individual as PM rather than a decent, honest, trustworthy individual who went into politics to try and improve things for the many not just his wealthy cronies.

And what prove do you have of these allegations, it seems to me reading some of these comments that it is just labour supporters against the Tories. Boris has said that he had no knowledge of this party and wasn’t there and that he is going to investigate. I think most Gransnetters would be dead from COVID if that nutter Corbyn was in power. It’s laughable that whatever happens Starmer comes back with some childish counter attack. It was appalling that he used the tragic personal story of a woman who couldn’t see her dying Mother in hospital. Remember what Boris did to stop this virus from overrunning the country. He worked with the scientists who advised him. He took charge of the rollout of vaccines.

He should go but he just doesn't seem to understand all the idiotic things he has been involved in and tries to cover up. Worryingly though, who would take over from him.

Love your post Rosamurta- I'd love the idea of the WI running the country. My choice would be Jacinta Ardern, currently running NZ. However NZ has such a small population, they would ,surely, be able to organise themselves with a Parish Council?

She's still ahead in the polls but her popularity is not totally universal.

Jacinta Arden wouldn’t last a day here, we can’t get everyone to get the vaccine, protest about everything, give all minority groups rights over everyone else, we don’t do as we are told. People in New Zealand put the country first.

There is so much that this government has done, lies about etc, it is difficult to keep up with it all.

People seem to believe things they read on Facebook or Twitter, no matter how fanciful. It is bizarre.

Johnson also has the letter to answer relating to rescuing the animals on a special charter flight.

That I think is potentially another very serious issue.

Especially when people at great risk from The Taliban were unable to get flights.

I watched the television programme about Q anon this week, and listened to the supporters and the reason they supported people like Trump.

Regardless of what evidence they were presented with, they continued to believe the most bizarre things,- things that you wouldn’t believe anyone would believe.

That is what is happening here when we continue to read about peoples belief that Starmer was implicated in Saville and the refusal to accept evidence that cannot be challenged. Other examples of this weird steadfast belief regardless of evidence abounds.

It is a phenomena of this decade. It will be fascinating to read the psychological explanation for it.

How does anybody think we vote for a PM ?? We never have ! It is the leader of the party which has the majority of seats who becomes PM !
MPs vote for their leader as do party members ! I can only vote for a local candidate unless I become a member of a political party !!
I have never voted for a PM !!!

If you voted in a Conservative MP in 2019 you were voting Johnson in. In normal times I vote for the candidate but in 2019 I voted tactically to do my bit to keep him out.

I'm worried what would happen if he resigned at the moment in the middle of this pandemic and who would take his place. I have no faith in any of them at present, but then why on earth should he and his partying cronies get away with it.

I voted for Boris and I’m not ashamed to admit it. However, I feel he is not up to the job. He lurches from disaster to disaster and I really don’t think this is sustainable going forward. He has too many distractions going on and he doesn’t seem to see the seriousness of this situation and others. Sure, he has had COVID, the pandemic has crippled his programme BUT it’s not a good look all of this. The thought of the vile Rayner woman makes me very concerned.

So you were happy to vote for a liar, a man who has who knows how many children by who knows how many women, who was involved in setting someone up for a beating, who was carrying on with his current wife while his then wife was being treated for cancer, who has been sacked more than once for lying etc etc. You are concerned about a woman who spent her childhood caring for her sick mother and who on finding herself pregnant when still a child worked and brought her child up.

Having written my piece above I have noticed your comment dolphindaisy and cannot agree at all with what you say. Keir Starmer has done arguably far worse than anything Bumbling Boris has. As head of CPS he had the opportunity to stop some of the awful damage that Jimmy Savile inflicted but chose not to. That should be a big blot on his character.

The allegations about Starmer not stopping Saville's crimes are completely untrue. The continuing circulation of this kind of completely made up nonsense goes a long way to explaining why we've got this useless government in charge.

I thought at first that Keir Starmer may be a good future PM but after watching him this year am not sure at all.Yes, far far better than the awful Corbyn but am thinking he isn’t strong enough to be either LOTO or PM.
Maybe both Johnson and Starmer will both be gone before the next GE.
