Grandmabatty keep testing and hopefully it will be a minor virus, not the virus. Can still make you feel grotty.
I hope you feel better soon.
Your photo’s are uplifting Dustyangel. I would love one of those lemons to slice and add to my G&T.
Wonderful baked goodies in the kitchen Feeling - I don’t mind if I do. ? Thank you.

My thoughts are with you GrannySomerset. Please let other people look after you. I am very sorry.x

SueDonim Sun 09-Jan-22 20:06:42

Hellogirl that must have been quite a shock. sad I hope you’re getting the right treatment now.

Get well soon, Grandmabatty. flowers

Cornergran I have a similar step to the one your friend has. I’ve been giving it what my mum would call an old-fashioned look now. Might need to find a sturdier replacement.

More clearing out today. The dining room is now back to its usual level of untidiness. grin We’ve been though most of our dvd collection and now have two massive boxes full to dispose of in any way we can. We’ve even managed to get rid of one of the storage units they lived in, so that frees up more space. This decluttering is making me surprisingly happy - life is simpler when there’s not so many extraneous things around. Not sure Dh feels the same way, mind. wink

‘Evening All’

Another hot sunny day unless I opened the front door where it was blowing a hoolie! The back is sheltered from the wind by the ‘L’ shape of the building. The sun was hot ? on our little balcony overlooking the gardens. A very lazy day. We didn’t even venture out for a walk.

Read our books (I finished mine ‘The Girl with a Louding Voice’ an hour ago, it was excellent and I couldn’t put it down).

We put sunscreen on our faces, sat on the balcony, watched the white sail boats bobbing on the cobalt Mediterranean, shared a bottle of very chilled white Rioja and ate chicken breasts done in the slow cooker. Life is good and we count our blessings every day.

Goodness Hellogirl1 I bet that appointment with the doctor gave you a shock. Well done to your physio securing you a proper assessment. Good to hear you’re now on meds and in safe hands. Sorry your daughter feels she’s to blame. Hope things improve on all fronts soon, once you and your family get used to the diagnosis.

Purplepixie Mon 10-Jan-22 00:28:50

Evening all! Or should I say good morning? I just cannot sleep so I thought I would pop into the kitchen with hot toddies to go around you all. I haven’t been here for a while and sorry that I have neglected this lovely warm and inviting space. I will catch up with you all soon. A lot has happened and I hope you are all well. Take care and now I must try and get some sleep. Night night all. X

Nannytopsy Mon 10-Jan-22 00:34:12

Thanks for the hot toddy PurplePixie - always very welcome. We have only just come to bed, yet another late night for no apparent reason.
Hope you are all
Sleeping soundly! Night night.

Hello kind Kitcheners. Five days have flown by since I posted. I see that massive birthday has been demolished. Not a crumb to be seen.

Excellent news soop

Dustyangel and Urms please keep me supplied with lots of sunny photos. I will close my eyes and imagine myself there. Glass in hand of course.
Cornwall is a little soggy around the edges at the moment.

??Grandmabattty and??for GrandmaSomerset.

Our build has gone into top gear with the help of two friends for the past three days. They have promised to come back as the food is so good ?.

?Found these cute macarons for you all. Tasty!

Hi lovely kitchen friends, just popping in whilst I’m having a coffee and waiting to see if we need to pick up DGC or not. I’ve been to the aqua class at the gym which I enjoyed, the best but was sitting in the warm bubbling jacuzzi afterwards and letting the stresses of the day just float away…
If DD2 needs me to do the school pick up she’ll need to hurry up and let me know as they come out at 10 to 3 ..
Some night owls on here last night ? thanks for the gorgeous macarons muse and love the pictures dustyangel thanks for sharing

BladeAnnie Mon 10-Jan-22 15:18:29

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. Just popping in to say hello ?. I've just finished working and Mr BA has gone to make me a restoritive cuppa for whilst I catch up with Call the Midwife. Enjoy the rest of your Monday TOYA

TillyTrotter Mon 10-Jan-22 15:28:15

Put your feet up BladeAnnie and indulge yourself in that nostalgic programme. I always seem to end up in tears watching it!
Macarons muse - you spoil us. Thank you, they are as delicious as they look ?

soop Mon 10-Jan-22 16:58:07

Special photos and what appear to be more-ish macaroons, of which I am not permitted to taste. hmm

I've been busy completing the water colour portrait. Have a smaller portrait to tackle and then I shall mount, back and post.

Sorry to be dragging my feet regarding visiting our kitchen. Apart from painting, we've been entertaining Sweetie Pie.

Tomorrow is a new day. I am wishing every one of our Kitcheners, especially those deserving extra TLC, a pleasant evening.

I need to sit down and relax. Have a feeling that the dreaded drop bot is about to give me jip. By this time next week, we shall be back home having kept an important appointment with the surgeon at Ross Hall.

Our granddaughter's parcel of "treasures" was delivered today. I am looking forward to her reaction.

Bye for now. I shall leave you with a group (hug) for the sharing of. smile moon

‘Evening All’.

Goodness it was very windy woo here this morning but calmed down by noon so we went out for a stroll along the paseo. It was gorgeous in the sunshine this afternoon. A real lift to the spirits. Sat for a drink and tapas in a bar and took this photo at 4pm on our way back up. We didn’t get asked for proof of our vaxx status and I’d say only 50% of folk are wearing masks when out and about.

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 10-Jan-22 18:03:47

Evening kitcheners. A lovely day with my little Dgd. She is now officially talking in that she mimics everything I say which is rather lovely. She is partial to Twinkle, twinkle little star. On repeat. Spent most of day with her including a lovely hour out in her garden. I am determined to embrace January whatever the weather. It is in fact quite mild. Returned to Ddog's pleading eyes (hadn't eaten for about twenty minutes) and effusive wag. Taking him out tonight for a walk. A whatever is in the freezer tea including the raspberry sorbet I forgot about at Christmas. TOYA.

MayBeMaw Mon 10-Jan-22 18:19:12

I know it’s mild, but it is so grey and dark, I have felt cold all day.
Is January really the longest month (starting straight after Boxing Day) or does it just seem that way?
I know there are many far worse off so I will shut up moaning (well, for a bit anyway) but I do feel hibernation is wasted on bears. ? ? ?

dustyangel Mon 10-Jan-22 18:29:18

I’ve come to realise that photos of macaroons and blue skies are probably equally uplifting.
I shouldn’t eat the macaroons though as it’s too hard to only have one. Not that I should have any really, personally I don’t think I’m very overweight but if I do know that if I have to see the doctor, I eat a lot more carefully in the week before.wink
soop I might have missed some updates, is your not eating macaroons because a special diet before the operation?

We have been having frequent visits from Spock’s friend, the black Labrador King. I’d like to think that he really likes us but I know that he lives in hope of getting a snack. We’re not allowed to as his owner knows that he would never stop eating given the chance, sometimes we weaken but not often as he then becomes a pest and dribbles on the door step!!

Grandmabatty Mon 10-Jan-22 18:34:08

Looks divine Urms. It reminds me of Fuengerola. I've had a pcr test this morning so I need to isolate til I get the results. On top of the other symptoms, I now have a really sore ear and my hearing has gone wonky. I'm just a little ray of sunshine! Have a good evening Kitcheners.

dustyangel Mon 10-Jan-22 18:36:58

Sorry, I can see lots of bits that I should have edited before posting. My only excuse is that I feel as if I’ve been on the phone all afternoon trying to correct an email problem from the bank. An exhausting business always.

dustyangel Mon 10-Jan-22 18:39:48

I hope your sore ear recovers very quickly Grandmabatty and that your results are negative.

Urmstongran Mon 10-Jan-22 18:51:03

Benalmádena Grandmabatty near the roundabout at Parque de Paloma with the metal windmills.

Susan56 Mon 10-Jan-22 19:07:28

I love Benalmadena Urms. A couple of years since we have been there but hopefully next year??????

Roll on this time next week soop and hope the appointment goes well.

Grandmabatty, hope your result is negative and that you will soon be feeling better?

We have just got home from a long day looking after our grandson. He was very overtired this morning? He really wanted to go to soft play so we drove over there, bought a monthly pass and then he wanted to come straight home as the bottom of his shoes were wet?‍♀️then the peppers with his lunch were too red!The logic of a three year old. After a couple of hours snuggling on the settee watching Peter Rabbit he cheered up and we had a lovely afternoon?

We have been up since 4.30,if it was up to me our evening meal would be a bowl of cornflakes but DH the star is making sausage and mash with onion gravy?Perfect!

Grannmarie Mon 10-Jan-22 19:15:14

Urms, you are so lucky, we love Benalmàdena. Stayed often in the Best Triton near the Marina, wonderful.
Hope to go there again one day.??

Jaxjacky Mon 10-Jan-22 19:15:26

Very uplifting Urms thank you.
Hope you’re negative Grandmabatty my friend, who was positive just had a slightly sore throat and earache, sorry. Walked, hoovered and dusted today, (not all at the same time!), how do two people create such necessary actions!
Anyway, dinner to sort, I hope your trepidation has come to nothing soop roll on next week.
Have a good evening all x

Urmstongran Mon 10-Jan-22 19:23:18

We walked past that hotel on our way home Granmarie!
