Thinking of you Blossoming
Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
What did you never own up to ?
this week’s unaccountable ear worm
Labour Brings in excellent Renter's Rights - long overdue.
Here we are again
Happy as can be (in the circumstances)
All GOOD friends and jolly GOOD company.
Welcome. The buffet is waiting. Our retreat is warm and cosy. There will always be a comforting virtual arm around the shoulder for those who need one.
Thinking of you Blossoming
Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
Dearest Blossoming, sit beside me in the quiet corner of our kitchen. I feel your dismay. Let us share a virtual hug. We both need one right now.
We managed a short stroll. Apart from that, I ironed a mini mountain of laundry and re-sketched a pet portrait.
I have no wish to spoil the very welcome, well deserved light-hearted banter. PLEASE continue to cheer from afar.
I am very, very fond of you all.
Poorly peeps, please take extra special care of yourselves.
Until tomorrow.

That’s harsh Blossoming, it’s not fair is it. I wish I could really give you a big hug, I’ll send one across the ether xx.
Huge hugs Blossoming - obviously I have no professional expertise, but it the change in kidney function that matters.
Yours may be less than it should be, , but is it significantly worse than say 12-18 months ago?
I was told mine was not good about 4 years ago, but nobody followed it up and TBH I feel pretty much the same.
Of course you can do the obvious things like cutting out salt and keeping hydrated, but I think what you need is a chat with a “Kidney” nurse after your next blood tests to find out a) whether you should be on any medication , b) if they want to take any action or c) if it just a case of monitoring in the short and long term.
Do not get despondent - while there are parameters which may ring bells for the professionals, you are often the best judge of how you are - if you don’t feel ill, try to relax and not worry.
(Because of his immunosuppressants and other medical history, Paw’s kidney results were often poor but they were normal for him - so try not to let it get you too down
Blossoming I'm so sorry to hear that. Gentle hugs to you today. ?
Blossoming Please come on here as much as you can and I’m sure we’ll all help you to get through this together ?
Oh Blossoming so sorry to hear that, sending you love and support ???
Does your DS need anyone to carry his bags SueD? I’ll be first in line ….
Ooh Tilly my Amaryllis is a bit behind yours but won’t be too long now! I’ve just put it on the kitchen windowsill where believe it or not we’ve got some sunshine so I hope it appreciates that.
After this sit down and catch up with you all I’m going to carry on with my very hard Christmas jigsaw that’s still all over the dining room table … I really need to finish it so I can get the duster out
So good to hear that you’re negative grandmabatty and once you feel ok you can go out and see those lovely DGSs of yours
Thanks for the update on charley tanith good to know she’s ok - apart from the feathers of course …
And good to know these things maw thanks for the info?
Hoping all goes ok tomorrow with the GP Grannmarie ?
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners, it seems my last kidney function test was not good and I have to have yet more blood tests. Just going to crawl under the duvet and cry, can’t face another year of ongoing hospital appointments. I try so hard to be as well as possible and something always comes up to knock me down.
Good afternoon Soop and lovely Kitchen people!
Good result news, Grandmabatty, also glad you've got your appetite back! So many 'bad colds' going around.
Just had a gentle park walk with my sisters, my first in a week cos I've been a bit unsteady with my HBP, GP face to face tomorrow. It's much milder today with snatches of sunshine ?, cheered me up!
TOYA, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow.
Good news Grandmabatty a weight off your shoulders, hope your cold goes soon too.
Cornergran all sympathy to you! It's grim, isn't it?
Thank you tanith. Not good for charkey but I’m more than relieved she’s ok.
The current cold bug is certainly not ‘justj a cold. Mine began Boxing Day and is still with me. Good luck everyone! Look after yourselves.
TOYA.
Hello Kitcheners.
Sighs of relief all round that Charleygirl is OK even if her router isn’t and that GrandmaBattys test was -ive . Although I felt so rubbish last week I’d almost have been relieved to get. a +ive result and tick that one off my list! Strange times when we can feel glad it’s “just” a cold or the flu!
I put something on the GM thread today about post-Covid complications. Just drawing your attention, to it, not with the intention of scaremongering (as I got shot down in ? yesterday for “doom scrolling “ elsewhere.)
It was my Art tutor who emailed me to say her son (in his 20’s) was rushed into hospital yesterday with post-Covid complications. He and his parents with whom he lives have all just had Covid for the second time and contrary to most anecdotal evidence, much worse than the first time.
He has had to have an emergency eye op and she just wanted to warn anybody who develops conjunctivitis after Covid, to seek immediate help as the normal treatment doesn’t work and could result in blindness.
Please don’t think this is common or regular, but best to be aware.
My lovely (male) cleaner ) is here today - if you are wondering, he and his wife used to work together but found it easier to divide up the jobs and actually I struck lucky as he also does a few handyman type of things for me! - and it will be a relief to get some heavy stuff out of the way as my excursion into the loft last week left me not only breathless but rather downhearted that I no longer seem able to do as much as I used to.
Dismal wet day here but Spring cannot be far away!
Test results are negative! It's 'just' a bad cold and cough and earache etc etc. I'm staying away from the dgs1 and 2 and my mum as I don't want to pass it on, although I miss the boys dreadfully. I take my hat off to the labs. I had the pcr test at 11.30 and the results came in the early hours of the morning. I feel a bit better today because I had a better night's sleep. Beef casserole is going in the oven for dinner later and I might feel up to making an apple crumble. I,too, wish I was somewhere warm. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
Urmstongran
Benalmádena Grandmabatty near the roundabout at Parque de Paloma with the metal windmills.
We used to spend many evenings in the Tivoli Gardens in Benalmadena Urms our boys loved it there.
I get a tear in my eye when thinking of anywhere along there, memories of our dear Mum living and working out there ?
Morning everyone I’ve had an quick phone chat withCharleygirl this morning and she asked me to pop a post on here to confirm that she’s fine and is awaiting delivery of a new router hence her absence. She’s spitting feathers at the delay of course (as you would ?) and watching for the postman which isn’t the most reliable of course. Anyway she’s missing and fuming be back as ASAP.
I hope your result is negative, Grandmabatty and that you feel better soon, whatever the name of your particular bug.
Two trips out to get rid of clutter today. One to the dump/recycling centre and one to various charity shops. That’s two car-loads of things no longer in my house, hurrah!
One of my sons may be coming up to visit next month. No doubt he’ll be wanting to tell us all about his trip to the Bahamas next week, which he assures me is purely for work purposes.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Today has been a day of getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. First ‘HealthyYou’ Zoom meeting of 2022, so no cake for me I’m afraid. Then paperwork to sort, appointments to confirm, diaries to be updated. I’ve been enjoying no injections, tests or checks for a few weeks! I have my annual health review at the medical centre tomorrow and Mr. B has a dental appointment. Here we go again
. At least we are both fully vaccinated and boosted.
Feeling very tired, so an early night for me. TOYA
I hope you feel better soon grandmabatty.
Dd3's family has now got 2 positive results for the 2 of them that missed out last time round. Luckily none of them are ill but DGS can't stand the taste of meat since his encounter with Covid in November!
Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery Grandmabatty . Not a good start to your New Year! ?
Hope you’re feeling better soon grandmabatty take care and look after yourself ?
Ooooh Urms you’re making me want to book a holiday! I love Spain ! ☀️ ? ?
Love Benalmadena! Urms. After four hours sleep last night, I've napped a lot today. Thanks for your kind words. Susan I'm exhausted just reading about your day. An early bed for me tonight, I think. I can't be bothered cooking so beans on toast did me for tea. A sure sign I'm feeling unwell!
