In praise of Uber drivers .....

... and others on low pay who work on Christmas Day.

Last night returning home in an Uber, the car was stopped at lights, near the Bank of England by chance, and I could see an old guy begging at the the car in front - he approached my car the driver lowered his window and dropped some coins in the tin. I could tell from the clunky sound that it was likely two £1 coins, not coppers, the man profusely thanked and blessed him and the car moved on.

I was so touched by the driver's actions - it was a 'Widow's Mite' moment.

That is often the way I think, those with the least give proportionally the most.
I believe this is borne out by statistics that show that people on low incomes give a higher percentage of their income to charity than those on higher incomes.
The amount given may be less but the effect on the giver is higher.
