Good morning from Durham - damp and dingy yet again. Still have DD2’s dogs here, so a reason to get wrapped up and outside later for a walk. I’m taking them back home tonight and will have a drink with her while her DH sees The Toon beaten by MU!
Have a good day. X

Good Morning all from dreich Harrogate
Sorry you have not been feeling too good Marydoll maybe a bit of TLC is needed?
Didn't do much yesterday and will probably do similar today!!
I did clean the hob, but the oven is really needing cleaned - it might have to wait until tomorrow.
We enjoyed watching Round the World in 80 Days last night and will probably follow it through.
Today not likely to be doing much more energetic than chatting on the phone - don't know why it became the chatting day, but that's the way it is!
Hope you all have the best day possible.

Good Morning All x.
A dull day, damp but by no means a cold one. I've not needed the heating on until evening times lately as too much warmth makes me more sluggish than I already am.

Sat listening to many of my CD's yesterday because the TV aerial had gone caput and at about 6pm I had a thought. There is a booster extension between the tv in the living room wired through the wall into my bedroom so that called for a fiddling about session and much cursing in detaching the two aerial sockets from the extension.

The aerial which comes through the wall from outside is only short so wouldn't fit my tv in the living room----aerial socket is on the far side of the tv, so I brought the smaller bedroom tv and sat it on a stool and plugged the short bit of aerial into it and hey-presto, nothing wrong with the outside aerial, it was the extension at fault so at least I've got tv albeit a much smaller one but better than nothing for the time being.

I'll still have to get the aerial man to put two new ones up though as I don't want an extension. It's served its purpose now so time to scrap it.

A day of tidying up and sorting the 'fridge out too to see what I can rustle up and use up rather than open up something from the freezer as there's no real need.

Still no sign of D as yet and Ruby would have gone back to Durham yesterday. I realise that it's a full time job looking after 6 children but D is a very laid-back person as well----a trait on the paternal side of the family, whereas I'd be going around like a headless chicken getting things done, like my mum was. No good for the BP though grin wanting things done there and then.

Well I hope everyone has a more relaxing day from the busyness of the last few days. Safe journey's to those on the road and it'll be good to hear of Mick's escapades on the IOW.

Stay safe and well everyone and keep out of mischief grin
Thoughts to the poorly ones. Love to all. xx

Good morning from a very wet Wiltshire! DDog and I have had a squelchy hour walking in the rain- I don’t mind so long as I have the right clothes on. She’s in season so we have to be a little selective where and when we walk but I enjoy the peace and mindless ambling ?
Another quiet day here, DH is still recovering from surgery (and is very grumpy ?), I’m going to clean the house and change the beds then sit and carry on crocheting Attic24’s Hydrangea blanket. It’s slow going but an easy pattern.
Hope everyone has a peaceful and enjoyable day x

Our bedroom windows are open this morning Newquay mostly due to the after effects of Christmas excess!!

Alygran Mon 27-Dec-21 09:29:46

Good morning from the High Peak. It looks dry today for a change. The weather has been gloomy but the company has more than made up for it. My last full day here as I’ll be driving back to Yorkshire tomorrow.
We are going to DD1’s this evening for a buffet supper.
Wishing everyone a good day, especially those not feeling too well. Safe travels to all on the move.

Newquay Mon 27-Dec-21 09:28:28

Morning all-delighted to report a better night’s sleep thanks to taking a Night Nurse! Cheating I know!
Overcast here in Staffs.
Listening to item on radio about “breathing” with Andrew Marr. V interesting about nose breathing being important and opening windows.
I’ve always opened windows when I get up no matter the weather and then gradually close them once all rooms aired-anyone else do that?

kittylester Mon 27-Dec-21 09:26:00

Good morning all from very dreary looking North Leicestershire.

We are intending to watch a dvd of DGD4 performing in their school production of Annie. Hopefully, DD2 will make her lovely bacon and egg rolls (a tradition I am pretty keen on) and then they will leave for home taking in a panto on the way home!

I will investigate the strange black mark on the lounge carpet before sitting down and not moving till bedtime!!

cornergran Mon 27-Dec-21 09:10:06

Morning All. The sky is brightening over our corner of Somerset. Doesn’t look too bad out there.

Pleased to report an excellent Christmas Day and an enjoyable Boxing Day. There is a worry as our younger son is waiting a PCR outcome after a positive lateral flow test yesterday morning. So many people in the same situation. For once we’re relieved not to have seen him for a few weeks.

Lazy day ahead here. Safe travels to all on the roads, a hug to all with worries of any kind and a hope that Monday is kind to us all.

Pittcity Mon 27-Dec-21 09:08:45

BTW I am really grateful for the title of this thread reminding me what day it is, especially this week!

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 27-Dec-21 09:04:39

Good Morning Jaxjacky from a wet, drizzly Oxfordshire.
Apart from taking the dog for a wet walk, not much to do today, MissOops and nephew went back yesterday, so left over beef etc. for lunch.
All chocolate to be gathered up and put somewhere difficult to get to, cakes, mince pies to be frozen. Diet starts today!
Then get my Christmas jigsaw out, it’s a pack of 4 Christmas scenes each 1000 pieces, so it should keep me occupied until New Year.
Have a good day everyone, Marydoll hope you feel better soon, ?

ginny Mon 27-Dec-21 09:01:40

Good morning all.
We were so lucky to have another lovely day with family yesterday this time including the two little ones.
Today we are at home and don’t intend to do much at all. I shall wear ‘floppy’ clothes and catch up on recorded programmes.
Cold gammon, egg and chips for dinner. Picky bits for lunch and indulgent chops this evening.
Wishing all a good day and kind thoughts for those who cannot or have not been with those they love or are feeling under par in any way. Hope a smile comes your way.

notgran Mon 27-Dec-21 08:55:57

Good morning All, I woke very early this morning but I had gone to bed fairly early suffering from a 2 day over-indulgence coma. Such a greedy guts.So while drinking a lot of water I have watched on i-Player, all 3 episodes of the story of the Duchess of Argyle's marriage/divorce. Very enjoyable drama and a totally despicable set of parasites are depicted in it. Thoroughly recommended. Have now had my breakfast and am shortly off for a swim. First for a week but because of my inactivity for the past couple of days badly needed. Enjoy your Bank Holiday folks.

aggie Mon 27-Dec-21 08:52:51

Good Morning everyone, it’s very foggy and cold , glad I’m not going out
DD is expecting to entertain an old school friend this afternoon , as it is to be Al Fresco the weather had better improve. ! My mince pies have been requested ? Said friend was very I’ll at the start of the pandemic and is a shadow of her former self , but still has that old sparkle that I remember

Grandmabatty Mon 27-Dec-21 08:52:31

Good morning all from Polmont. 5° this morning and, like many of you, damp and grey.
Yesterday was cleaning the kitchen and taking son home. Today I am taking down the decorations and the tree. I've had them up since the beginning of December and I want my usual house back. I will do it in stages across the day. Then I intend to play with the new tech presents I got from ds. I don't think I'll be further than Aldi for bread. Have a good day all

Grandmadinosaur Mon 27-Dec-21 08:51:32

Good morning from East Yorkshire. Thank you for opening. JaxJacky

We had a lovely day at my dads yesterday. GS kept us entertained! My brother,SIL and nephew hadn’t seen him for a couple of years so saw a big difference. My dad being a railway buff has a layout in his loft. GS has been keen to have a look at it and as some of the other “boys” as he called them were up there he got his wish. He was in his element. I think the company of a young child was good for my dad too.

No plans for us today. DH gone for a walk. I’ll go for one later he may join me. I will tidy up the back bedroom and put away all the Christmas stuff in there for another year. GS wants a sleepover this week and it’s his bedroom or so he thinks!
We have turkey and pork to use up. I might freeze some. I will give my stomach a rest today with fruit for breakfast. I’ll make some veg soup for my lunch and turkey salad for my tea. DH will have turkey and chips.

So sorry to hear your news Chrissielou you’re in my thoughts ?

Take care everyone.

monk08 Mon 27-Dec-21 08:46:02

Good morning all from the Black country, weather dreary and damp. Hope to manage a walk later but my back is playing up again see how it is after a session on the TENS machine.
Safe travels anyone returning home.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?

Grammaretto Mon 27-Dec-21 08:44:38

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders,
It is dry and beginning to get light enough to see.
I dashed out with the buckets in my goonie but I wonder if the cooncil are still on holiday?
I am not. I have DGD plus a friend coming for a crafty session in my studio this morning, Before that I must take down the Christmas fair stall, or what is left of it, and my DSis and DBiL are driving up from the S of England to entertain me for a few days. I hope they don't run into fog So beds to make up and probably food to prepare shop for.

Some shops are open. Not having leftovers means I may actually have to cook!

I am so sorry Ash that your plans were scuppered and that others had horrible journeys.
Marydoll I only hope your restful day today helps you recover enough to enjoy the family visits. I am very pleased jealous to hear that Scentia has been sleeping so well.
It could be the new weighted blanket but also not having to go to work pre dawn and look after DGC?
Urms at least the toothache is better in time for the New Year.

Have as best a day as you can, whatever you get up to.

NannyJan53 Mon 27-Dec-21 08:41:29

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

It was quite misty yesterday as I drove over to DS's in Staffordshire. Spent the afternoon with them. Eldest DGD who is 17 was at work waitressing until 6pm, then promptly got ready to go out with a friend so only saw her fleetingly. MrJ went over to his ex's and spent time with his two DD's there.

No real plans today, could go on our usual Monday walking group walk, but after 2 late nights I am giving it a miss this week. Feeling quite lethargic today. Perhaps go for a walk the two of us this afternoon.

Wishing you all a good day. ((hugs)) for Marydoll

Grandmajean Mon 27-Dec-21 08:35:56

Good morning from Cheshire.
Busy day today as family coming for Christmas meal and present opening. Nobody until about 3 pm - so time to check am all organised. Meal about 6 then probably games.
Weather not very seasonal - well , I suppose drizzle and puddles are fairly seasonal really !
Have a good day .

dragonfly46 Mon 27-Dec-21 08:35:52

Good morning, the fog seems to be clearing here in Leicestershire although still murky.

Not much on the cards today although a little tidying up and hoovering won’t go amiss while DD and SiL go shopping.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Urmstongran Mon 27-Dec-21 08:33:15

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp but we do have cloud cover so the day could go either way for tuppence. No plans for today and I’m happy with that. We might go out for a stroll later. My new pink teddy coat is super warm to wear so this is just the best kind of day to give it an outing!

I’ve finished the metronidazole ? I’m glad to say. Still 48 hours to remain alcohol free. It’s been a strange Christmas drinking ginger cordial and elderflower pressé but I bet my liver has been grateful ha!

Thanks for opening up Jaxjacky. Seems a bit mean you’ve not been invited over to your daughter’s outlaws later today grandMattie especially as you 3 are house guests. Maybe they’ve not enough chairs. Hope you feel better today Marydoll. I agree about reminiscing at this time of year. Bittersweet memories are just below the surface for many of us.

No Matt as it’s Monday. I finally twigged the connection! Enjoy the day all who can. x

Anniebach Mon 27-Dec-21 08:31:50

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Jaxjacky Mon 27-Dec-21 08:27:09

After the brief opening up, as MD said, always wary of duplication, so it’s done quickly.
We too had a quiet day yesterday, we did get out with a walk to our local and a catch up with friends, then home for cold, bubble and pickles.
I’ve just caught up with yesterdays GM and send hugs to you and your family Chrissielou, challenging times ahead x
Today, little on the horizon, collection of a birthday present for my DS, 31 next Sunday.
Hoping you all have a lovely day, a ??? may surprise you with some joy.
