Good morning everyone from DD's here in East Northants; have no idea what the weather is doing, but I have no plans for going out in it anyway.

The rest of the family took the dogs out for a short walk yesterday while I stayed in the warm; it was a day of starting on the leftovers, indulging in chocolate, and watching tv.

DS and family head back home today, with a visit to the vets on the cards as their DDog appears to be under the weather and definitely not her normal self. DD and I will have more leftovers and watch our rugby team on tv this afternoon.

Wishing all a restful and pleasant day; hoping those feeling poorly get some rest and feel better soon.

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. Yesterday's mist looks to have lifted and it feels a couple of degrees warmer.
We have nothing in our diary this week so will play it by ear.
We may brave the shops as DH "needs" a few things for fishing. We certainly don't need food.
Love to all ? x

Good morning from a very foggy South Yorkshire. We shall loose the dog on this morning's walkies if we're not careful. Lovely day yesterday with my mother. Today DS2, his wife and free range children are visiting. However they have a long journey up the A1 to get here which is a worry as that road is always terrible in fog. Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from another dark, dreary and damp day in rural Oxfordshire. I wanted to thank those who sent such kind messages of support yesterday, how kind you all are, it is much appreciated.
A quieter day for us today; a long walk with our lively dog, reading and relaxing in front of the fire is my prediction! Lots of delicious food to eat too, how fortunate we are.
I hope all those who are struggling in various ways have a calm and peaceful day.
Thank you for welcoming me with such warmth.

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still dark but looks dry. Thanks for opening up Jaxj
Yesterday the frost stayed all day and we enjoyed a lovely scenic walk by the river Ness in town, the ground was frozen solid with icy puddles so we needed to be careful. There were lots of people out with new looking bobble hats, gloves and scarves and children with new bikes, scooters and skates. Lots of doggy Christmas jumpers too - all lovely to see!
Today I’m going to the gym for a swim, the Aqua class is still on so I’ll be having a splash around and catch up with friends.
Safe journey to everyone travelling today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from a dark, damp NE.
DD and SIL were supposed to be visiting his brother yesterday but it was cancelled at the last minute due to a positive result of a contact.
I had a day in front of the TV watching the Christmas specials and eating up leftovers. I gave alcohol a miss because I had a glass or three the day before.
DD will return today and we will have our 'not a turkey joint' and all the trimmings.
The weather was horrible yesterday so I am hoping it will improve today so that we can get some fresh air.

Good morning all and I’ve had a lovely nights sleep, waking two hours later than usual. ???.

Scentia your weighted blanket seems to be working ?
My Dd was very pleased to receive hers!

We had a lovely day here yesterday with Dd and family and DS2 and family. DS1’s Covid family stayed home and we facetimed them . They all looked very sad !

DS2 had a terrible journey here on the M25 and arrived an hour late. The rain and wet roads didn’t help.

We will have a quiet day today and I will start one of my new books. Dh will (hopefully) go to a local footie match.

I always look forward to getting back to ‘normal’ after Christmas.

Have a gentle day.?

Good morning all from a dark, chilly Glasgow. Thank you Jax for opening up. When Mick is away, I'm never sure whether to open up or not, for fear that someone else does it at the same time. It has happened before and causes such confusion! ?

Tha plan yesterday, on returning from DS2's, was to tidy up, chill, enjoy my generous gifts and have a curry, not our usual Boxing Day routine. A takeaway was on the cards due to the fact that all the leftovers were at chez DS, because my future DIL needed them for her large family's visit and I had no desire to cook on here.

Unfortunately, I was quite unwell yesterday, my breathlessness was pretty bad, so I ended up lying dozing all day and being in my pyjamas by 5pm. Poor DH was left to fend for himself, while I wallowed! I couldn't even gorge on chocolate, like I usually do. ☹

I hope those who couldn't celebrate with family, still had a pleasant Christmas Day. We had a verrrrrrry lengthy and detailed Zoom with Dollie, who had prepared a Show and tell of her gifts.
Forgetting how long they could last, I had a feeling of deja vue and being back in the classroom, we couldn't get a word in edgeways. ?

For those who are unwell or struggling, have a restful day and for those travelling, have a safe journey. A day abed for me, not too good today. I have plenty of reading to do to keep me occupied.
DH bought me a pictorial book about old Paisley, where I grew up. Inside was a photo of an old laundry van and the laundry boy sitting in the passenger seat, looked very like my late father. He did work as a boy there and the dates match. I'm looking forward to reading the book and revisiting scenes from my childhood, I have been feeling very nostalgic lately! ?

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning, all, from a dry but still dark Crewe. Thank you for opening up, JaxJacky.

Sadly, yesterday's plans were changed as my DS was warned by a friend that he'd had a positive PCR test, putting DS at risk as they'd spent time together. After some discussion, it was agreed he shouldn't visit for fear of the potential risk to DH and me. Instead, he drove up from Uttoxeter with his partner and my DGS3 (aged 5) and we exchanged presents in the front garden of my DD2's home. It was heartwrenching but necessary. Later, a Facetime call enabled us to watch the children of each household open the presents.

Wishing everyone a happy day and safe journeys if travelling.???☃️ ?

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where I have no idea what the weather is doing.
I have been sleeping so well these last few nights, it’s such a strange feeling waking at a normal time!!!
Nothing doing today as I have been busy the last few days and I am looking forward to a rest, I will be shopping tomorrow with DD and DGC that can be a full on day, especially in the sales, I need to prepare ?
Take care everyone and stay safe and warm ❤️

Good morning from Essex by the sea. I have no idea what the weather is doing.
We had a lovely day at DD2's House yesterday where all five granddaughters were together. The two youngest, 4 and 6, made us laugh as they were following dance moves from a game shown on the TV.
The journey both ways was trouble free but we were both very tired last night and in bed by 10.
No plans today but loads of food to be eaten.
Have a great Bank Holiday Monday everyone xx

Nannytopsy Mon 27-Dec-21 07:10:59

Good morning everyone. It’s still dark in Suffolk but will be damp and dull today. Having roasted two lovely turkey crowns for DiL on Christmas Day, I did ours yesterday which is a real disappointment. Rather hard and dry. My turkey is never dry! Luckily there isn’t much, so pickles and mash will see it off.
It looks as if our visitors for 29th will not make it, so just DS and family, who are local.
I have just seen the score at the test match and I am going back to bed! I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Gagagran Mon 27-Dec-21 07:10:14

Good Morning everyone from a mild but dark and overcast south coast.

I've done a LFT already as we are going to DD's for our Christmas meal together and she requested that we did one. Our DSiL is back on frontline work in the hospital tomorrow and needs to be ultra careful. Negative result for me and DH will do his shortly.

Safe travels to anyone on the move and enjoy the rest of this unusual Christmas as best you can. In years to come, we will reminisce about it and all the hoops we had to jump through!

grandMattie Mon 27-Dec-21 07:08:41

Good morning jaxjacky. Dark here too inAvon.
Up “late” as bad nights and late going to bed do nothing for me.
The family is probably going to see “West Side Story” leaving me to watch “Encanta” streamed on TV with Iris. They are also going to see SiL’s family, where we are not invited.
We’ve decided to go home tomorrow.
Hope everyone doesn’t suffer too much from indigestion, post-Christmas blues and anticlimax. Carpe diem.
?????

NotAGran55 Mon 27-Dec-21 07:00:27

Good morning from from damp West Berkshire.
No visitors today after 2 hectic days, so chilling in leggings and eating the leftovers from the lunch yesterday.
A walk to the village post office to post a couple of birthday cards followed by reading my book about perfume that my boys gave me.
Really looking forward to the day.

Wishing you all a happy day and a safe journey back for Mick and all others out and about.

MayBeMaw Mon 27-Dec-21 06:49:24

Good morning Jazjacky and all to come..
(Pitch black here in Moseley so I have no idea of the weather.)
D2 and SIL and Flynn leave this morning to join his sister and family in Cumbria and youngest D, SIL , Otis and baby Remy are coming up from London.
Wishing you all a pleasant day wherever you are, tomorrow as I understand, Mick will be home and as they say “Normal service will be resumed”.

Beechnut Mon 27-Dec-21 06:47:57

Thank you Jaxjacky
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. A damp warm start.
I think I had too much to eat yesterday and felt uncomfortable so I took myself off to bed early.

There’s only so much sitting about and watching tv I can take before feeling cheesed off at Christmas time.I think I’ll do something useful today and make a start on a new dress by cutting it out.

Have the best day you can all ??

Jaxjacky Mon 27-Dec-21 06:35:24

Excuse me opening from a raining S Hants.
