On our local Facebook page.

A ‘vintage’ fruit crate for sale. 32x50 cms. Has a mid shelf also. ‘Looks great as a wall mounted shelf’. (Apparently). Only £25.

To my untrained eye, it looks like it has been cobbled together with a few spare old planks of wood, which my dad might have used in his shed to hold a few tools or suchlike.

The ‘vintage’ label seems to apply for any old clothes, ornaments, furniture, toys that are ready for the dustbin, but I suppose as long as they get recycled, can only be for the good.

Well I know "antique" has to be over 100 years old, so I assume "vintage" comes somewhere between that and present day. I always think of vintage being something my parents had.
Someone else's old junk is always more interesting! I like vintage clothing and chairs and wine.

I think vintage means old (30 years plus), but desirable to somebody. It’s junk if it’s old and nobody wants it.

There's someone in our village who sells "vintage" kitchen ware; old enamel bowls, dishes and jugs with chips and dents in them. New ones are cheaper than what the "vintage" ones are selling for and you could bash them up yourself!

I have quite a lot of Polish enamelware. I don't think this thread is for me grin
