Nasty shock when I stepped on the scales and this morning
Same here AGAA4
I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. ? it’s dispiriting.
How do you hang your washing out?
Last three letters contd - 2026
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but its dry here in brackley this morning .
Today , apart from preparing lunch , I will watch TV for awhile.
My trip yesterday went to plan , meeting a friend on the bus to Buckingham, and having a catch up chat .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is cold and clear this morning so I shall get some washing on and hang it out. There is still lots of ironing waiting from last week.
We had DGC yesterday and took them for a pub lunch ( where everyone was masked) and then to the pantomime. Lovely afternoon but sadly there were an awful lot of people without masks. We kept ours on but I shall be on tenterhooks that some idiot wasn’t spreading the virus.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good morning everyone. Going light now here in N Wales so need to get my boots on and get walking.
Nasty shock when I stepped on the scales and this morning.
I had a lovely lunch with my family yesterday. Certainly hasn't helped with the weight gain but so good to see them.
Thinking of GrannySomerset and anyone who is sad or not well.
Pressed post before I sent love and ? to all x
Good morning from a brightening Colchester. A dry day after yesterday's rain.
Yesterday didn't go to plan as DD1 was still under the weather after having Covid. We drove to them to drop off Christmas presents to both DGSs. We took DGS1 for a walk and a chat. The presents were a hit.
DH is doing a full English this morning with locally made bacon and black pudding. We have roast pork tonight. ?
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had a light covering of snow overnight and it’s still very cold
Sending gentle hugs and support to grannysomerset today
Yesterday our plans changed as DD2 messaged asking me if I’d meet her in town to help her with getting her new bathroom sorted. So that took most of the day deciding on the numerous options available but hopefully it’s sorted now and I think she appreciated the help. This morning DH is off to work and I’ll be pottering about generally tidying up and not doing much.
Good luck with your planning BlueBalou it’s always good to have things planned to look forward to
Enjoy time with your DGD Alizarin so lovely to be asked around to play!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from North Leicestershire.
Not looked out yet but it feels chilly.
Not much happening here apart from roast pork around 2 pm as DH's team is on TV at 5.30 and we have to be ready!!
Good morning all from dark Harrogate
Oh dear Scentia you are being forced to rest!!
I am not going to church while the figures are so high here. This pm we are looking after 1 DGS. Might try to take him to soft play, but will have to check the numbers there first.
We watched “The peanut Butter Falcon” on iplayer last week - an excellent film about a young man with Down Syndrome.
Thinking of Grannysomerset
Hoping everyone can have the best day they can!
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another sunny start to the day. We are sat drinking tea, reading the papers. Have to smile as Himself regularly blurts out whatever he is reading and I sit looking at my iPad as he gives me a running commentary and snippets ... I’ve learnt to zone out (like now sending this) I just murmur ‘hmm, hmm’ ‘yes’ or ‘right’ as seems appropriate. I’ve never been caught out yet ...
?
The biggest decision for today is whether to eat out or put some chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Nice dilemma to have.
I’m surprised to see quite a few non-mask wearers out and about in this residential area. They can’t all have exemptions! I think many people must be weary of some of the rules. Mask wearing outside in the fresh air being one of them.
Anyway here’s Matt. x
Good morning Mick and all from a dry S Hants, but still slightly damp from yesterdays rain.
My football team made hard work of winning yesterday, this afternoon it’s the turn of MrJ’s team. Meanwhile, bedding will be washed and I need to sort through my seed box to see what needs replacing.
Dinner is a poussin, just enough for two.
Enjoy your lunch Ashcombe.
Thoughts with GrannySomerset, never far from them lately ?
Enjoy your Sunday all.
Good morning all from central Herts where it's dry and the sun is just coming up so it should be a nice day although cold.
It should be a fairly quiet day here, apart from a trip to Aldi to return an item which we bought yesterday due to a missing piece.
Later we will check out a property for our DS2 as they are house hunting. We'll have a look at the area and the house from the street, as it is not too far from us.
They hope to view it during the week.
Wishing you all a pleasant.Sunday whatever it brings for you.
Good morning from a dry, clear south Cornwall. Unexpected request from my 6 year old granddaughter who wants to come round for some 'Nana time' so will pop down the road to Tesco and get black olives which she loves and to Iceland for lollies. We'll watch Sarah and Duck and then hit the art room for an afternoon of I know not what yet.
Morning all.
Looks cold out there but at least it's dry.
Got my cuppa brought to me this morning as DH rings the local church bells at 9.30 so has to be up early ( ish)
Managed a short walk yesterday in one of the few gaps between showers !
Hope a peaceful Sunday is had by all.
Good morning all from my chilly bedroom, the heating didn't come on! Fortunately I suspected a leak in the boiler and booked an engineer's appointment on Boxing Day. The first available appointment is on Thursday, because its not an emergency!
Today will be a quiet day. I have been suffering from a severe, post steroid headache since Friday's hospital visit, combined with overdoing things yesterday and a disturbed night, I feel a bit ropey. I may just stay in bed and watch rubbish TV!! Mr MD, will be delighted to have a downstairs empty! ?
I decided to "reward" MrMD for his support on Friday by yesterday, cooking his favourite meal of turkey with all the trimmings for today's dinner. I had an emergency turkey crown in the freezer from Lidl, just in case we never made it to DS' on Christmas Day. It was a bit of a disappointment, compared with the expertly, boned one we had from the butcher's! I'm sure Hannibal Lecter had a hand in it.
In addition to that, I have baked him toffee apple crumble for dessert, made with my bargain pack of apples. I'm not a fan of crumble, nor turkey, ( but love my Irish granny's, recipe stuffing), so I shall borrow one of Dollie's mint Cornetti, from the freezer. She has them counted, consequently a replacement will be required. ?
My thought and prayers are with GSomerset and her family and also anyone here who is troubled. ?
Enjoy your Sunday, whatever your plans.
Good morning all and it’s actually light here in Essex.
Yesterday was a busy day starting with taking little gd to her ballet class, then picking up mum and one twin brother. Eldest Gd arrived and we had lunch. Just got cleared up when DS1 arrived with wife and one daughter and the afternoon passed pleasantly.
After DS and family had left , I washed DD’s hair as she still isn’t allowed a shower. I have never seen anyone with so much hair, so thick and long and frizzy. It took an hour to wash, condition and dry ?. Heaven knows where she got it from. I was shattered by evening as having visitors , although lovely, causes a lot of work . ?
Thankyou for all your kind wishes regarding DD.?.
Wishing you all a peaceful Sabbath day. ☺️
Good morning everyone, I haven’t looked outside yet to see what it’s like weather wise.
Starting to think it’s like Groundhog Day here, I really need to give myself a kick and start getting out now DH has had his surgery and is on the mend.
So, today I am going to start planning things to do and safe places to go, with and without DDog, and whether or not his Nibs wishes to come. 7 weeks of being largely stuck indoors is driving me potty!
Hope you all have a good day x
Good morning from Leicestershire.
Taking a friend out today who has had a knee replacement. We postponed yesterday as it was pouring with rain. Doing LFT’s first! I read yesterday they are doing away with them as they are too expensive!
Sending warm hugs to grannySomerset.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry, slightly warmer and I can see the makings of sunrise.
I enjoyed your journey tale Urm especially the bit where Himself found the gin.
I’m going to write letters today and hopefully move some admin and clothes about.
Hope you all have the best day you can ??
Never mind I still have a bit of the Covid germ as I still have a feint +tive. I will test again tomorrow? I still have no symptoms!!
Morning Mick, morning All. Think our corner of Somerset is dry, hooray.
A faffing sort of a day yesterday with admin, emails and phone calls. Promised ourselves a walk this morning, will go via the hospital to drop off what our friend calls a Red Cross Parcel. No visitors allowed so assume there’s some sort of system in place. Uncharted territory.
Progress scentia, good to hear. I’m always impressed by the amount folk have done this early in the morning. I’m still prising my eyes open.
Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and dry so far.
DD has been up for an hour and already done her second LFT as yesterday’s was negative and today’s is too, she has her bag packed ready to return to see her DH before he goes back to work tomorrow morning. She is awaiting the youngest to wake then she will be off. I will do an LFT soon to see if I too am negative then again tomorrow.
Grannysomerset ? take care of yourself.
No plans today, leg was healing nicely but I did too much in the excitement and today it is hurting so no pottering in the garden for me today. I will watch TV all day and ice my leg ? DSiL dropped a massive bag of snacks outside our door Saturday morning and I will partake in those!!
Take care everyone and stay safe and warm ❤️
Good Morning All, start of a new week. I have already got veg in the slow cooker and had breakfast so feeling very virtuous
Apart from a spot of de-cluttering, which I am doing every day and to-day have to find 9 toiletries, I no longer need, then a swim this evening, that's my Sunday. I always enjoy listening to Paddy O'Connell on R4 at 9am. His is the only news programme I always tune into. Entertaining and informative. Shall perhaps de-clutter to him. Enjoy your Sunday.
Good morning from Shropshire.
Up early as DD sent a chatty text message.I hadn’t put my phone on silent so was woken by the ping!
We finally caught up with all household jobs, admin and laundry yesterday after being ill.
Today we are meeting our younger daughter and family and my mum for brunch. As some of you know my mum can be tricky but we have learnt over the last year that if we take a grandchild or two with us the time spent is much more pleasant so??
Thinking of all our morning friends with worries and struggles and hoping for a better day for all??and for GrannySomerset?
Good morning from a dark, chilly E Kent. It has rained again overnight.
I’m glad all went to plan for you yesterday, Mick.
We did nothing much yesterday, DH watched the rugby and was pleased when ‘Quinn’s won. He said it was a very good game. I made a large chilli half of which we shall Eaton Tuesday as I’m out for lunch.
Today, not much again. We are celebrating Epiphany at Sunday school, so there will be a number of crowns. Don’t know what the starchy rector will make of it!
Roast lamb for dinner.
Hope gS is doing ok, big hugs. Ditto for all those who need one for any reason whatsoever. Gentle day for everyone. Carpe diem. ???❤️☀️???
Good morning , Mick and all who follow from a dry and calm Torbay.
Yesterday morning, we both enjoyed the Coffee Morning at church, with some lively conversation at our table with a retired priest and his wife. After a brief visit to the local shops, we hibernated from the stormy weather.
This weekend, a few craft had taken refuge from the storm by sheltering in Babbacombe Bay, including a cruise ship, Spirit of Discovery, which was beautifully lit on Friday evening. It brought back memories of the regular sight of ships here when cruising was off limits during the past couple of years.
After church, we’ve booked Sunday lunch at The Buccaneer as it’s our last weekend together for a while.
Kind thoughts and prayers for those in need, especially GrannySomerset. ?????
