Good morning, from the damp and dark Midlands. I have never heard of Fitsteps Brook, so will look it up as it sounds good.

Good morning from South Yorkshire. Weather looks cloudy but not too bad. Housewifery on the agenda today followed by the return of yoga class this evening which is always good for a laugh. Wishing you all a lovely day xxx

Grandmajean Tue 11-Jan-22 08:23:55

Morning all from Cheshire.
I , too ,am a morning person and get most things done then.
So sorry about Iris , "GrandMattie* It is so hard to see a child in pain.
I look forward to the Matt cartoon too ! Used to get the Telegraph but DH prefers the " I" and I don't really care.
My phone won't do flamingos but I wish a flock of them to all !

Been persuaded

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 11-Jan-22 08:22:22

Good morning Mick and everyone from a wet Oxfordshire.
Just a trip to the Garden Centre today MrOops has np even persuaded to buy some new wellies his are nearly 40yrs old and have just developed a split, he wanted to repair them! Anyway let’s hope he can find a pair of comfy ones or else he will be looking in the shed for his puncture repair kit and fix them instead.
So sorry that Iris is in pain it’s awful when it’s your child (or GC).
Hope all have as good a day as possible and let’s hope some of us have some sunshine.

NannyJan53 Tue 11-Jan-22 08:16:27

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

The walk yesterday was 5,8 miles with just a light drizzle now and then.

Spent the afternoon looking at some family history. Trying to find Mums father who she never knew. All she knows is his name, and where he was in 1929. No date of birth or anything else. Obviously he is long gone, but Mum is intrigued to know if she (and I) have relatives. Did the DNA test and a lady from Australia got in touch, she was born in Wolverhampton but emigrated as a child. It seems Mum is a 1st or 2nd cousin. Fascinating stuff!

Sorry to hear Iris has to undergo another operation, but she sounds upbeat about it. I hope it goes well flowers

Dentist this morning! Then town on the way back to buy bits n bobs!

Wishing you all a lovely day, with special thoughts to GrannySomerset

Grandmabatty Tue 11-Jan-22 08:07:27

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2°. It looks damp outside and there are some clouds about.
Poor Iris,*Grandmattie*. She has such a lot to contend with. My covid results came back negative, thank goodness, so it's 'only' a bad cold. I did sleep better last night and was only up twice so that's all to the good. Today will be much like yesterday, minus the pcr test. I shall stay home, warm and try to eat as I haven't felt like food for a few days. I'm keeping away from family as I don't want to infect the children or my mum. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Tue 11-Jan-22 07:58:32

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s not doing much just cold, dark and dry. If you’re bringing any of that lovely sunshine back Pantglas could you send some up here please too, we could do with ☀️
Today I’m going to my Fitsteps dance class that’s starting again today. It’ll be good to see a different group of friends and maybe we’ll have a catch up coffee afterwards. We’ve also got the kitchen fitter coming round today for a final measure up as we’re having the utility room redone in February.
Sorry to hear that Iris has got to go through another big operation GM wishing her all the very best, such a brave little girl
I’m also part of the morning club notgran and gaga with much higher energy levels in the morning and a couch potato in the evenings. I wish I could do more in the evenings but rarely have the motivation or energy , definitely #lazygran
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gingster the snowdrops are out in my garden!

Gingster Tue 11-Jan-22 07:51:33

Good morning all from a very dark Essex. I don’t t think there’s a frost but will check the car before the school run. It can put an extra 5 minutes or more to clear the windows. I drive to pick up gd (5 mins away) , bring her back here and then we walk (7 mins) as the car parking at the school is manic. We always play I Spy on the way and she beats me Everytime. !

I will go to my Bridge club today and I’ll pick up a parcel for DD from our local M and S food store on the way. It’s school trousers for the twin Gs as they are growing so fast. They leave school after their exams in May, so it seems a bit of a waste.

So sorry to hear that news of Iris, GM. Poor little girl having constant discomfort and pain. It isn’t fair, is it! ❤️.

Hoping you all feel a little better today and brighter in body and mind. What a dreary time of year this is!
Spring is around the corner and the snowdrops should be appearing soon. Bulbs are peeking out and there are buds on the trees. ???. Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. A few degrees warmer today.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day, so I must shake a leg.
Love to all ? x

Grandmadinosaur Tue 11-Jan-22 07:46:49

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is dark, damp and 7 degrees.

Yesterday I had a day at home with lots to do. I was disheartened to find when DH put the 2 parts of the new dresser together that there is a bit of a problem. We have 4 wall
light's at each end of the room. The dresser is a few inches too high to stand where it goes with the wall light in its way ? we do need rewiring doing and redecorating so that is a solution. Nowhere else it can go. So looks like getting the furniture has created a bigger job ? also the person promised to ring about collecting the old one for upcycling didn’t.

Today is coffee morning then a couple of hours free before collecting GS from school.

I was sorry to hear about Iris GM she’s had a lot to put up with at a young age.

Take care everyone.

Gagagran Tue 11-Jan-22 07:46:17

Good Morning everyone from a misty but mild south coast. 9 degrees here.

I can so relate to your energy levels pattern notgran and also the making of decisons when tired the night before. I am definitely a morning person and by lunchtime if I haven't got things done then they usually stay undone. My DH is like yours too. He likes to read the paper, do his crosswords and kakuro etc. in a morning and any jobs are lined up for the afternoon, when my inclination is to stop activities.

Sorry to hear about Iris facing more surgery Mattie. She sounds to be such a brave girl. It's hard for the family when a child is suffering. Most of us would change places with them in a trice.

Enjoy your last day in Espana Pant. It only seems two minutes since you went! I am sure Urms will keep things ticking over in your absence though. grin

Have the best day you can everyone - especially thinking of GrannyS still in these very difficult twixt days.

AGAA4 Tue 11-Jan-22 07:39:03

Good morning from North Wales.
I have some maintenance work today. Lots of light bulbs have all gone off over the last week so need to get the ladder out or I will have to buy more candles.
Poor little iris. It's so hard to hear of children suffering.

Looking forward to that sunshine pant.
Have a good day everyone and thinking of those who are not well or have troubles.

Nannytopsy Tue 11-Jan-22 07:31:51

Good morning Mick and all his followers. The ground is damp and it’s cloudy here in West Suffolk.
Still have ironing to finish and some baking, ready for WI tomorrow.
Yesterday we went to the supermarket only to find so many people, including the staff, were not wearing face masks despite the big sign outside about them being mandatory.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Jan-22 07:30:05

Morning Mick and all

Granny duties for The Imp today, we also need to do a proper shop, first one since before Christmas.

Sorry to hear poor Iris has to have another major operation grandMattie ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

grandMattie Tue 11-Jan-22 07:27:12

We didn’t know about Iris’s pain either, until her parents discussed giving her a second dose of Tramadol that day in front of us…. No wonder she could be a bit fractious at times.
She has a genetic condition, there is little hope that she will ever be problem/pain free.

Ashcombe Tue 11-Jan-22 07:27:01

Good morning from a mild Torbay.

Poor Iris, with more hurdles to overcome. Her resilience is an example to us all.

What a kind deed, Feelingmyage55!

Thoughts with Grannysomerset and others going through difficult times. ?????

kittylester Tue 11-Jan-22 07:25:57

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it isn't too cold.

No decorators this morning - they have done a great job as always and are lovely to have around but not at 8 am.

We have to go shopping for curtain rails for the bedroom today.

Have the best day possible!

baubles Tue 11-Jan-22 07:25:27

Good morning Mick, morning all from cool and dry South Lanarkshire.

gMattie, Iris has had so much to deal with. I’m sorry she’s in pain, brave girl.

First day went well, it’s learning by doing and as I’ve volunteered for so long I’m familiar with a lot of what has to be done.

More of the same today.

Hoping for a better day for those who have been unwell.

dragonfly46 Tue 11-Jan-22 07:23:25

Good morning from Leicestershire.

Early start as the cleaners are here this morning.

Book club this evening. We are all doing LFT before so we can meet face to face. Wasn’t too keen on the book ‘Schroder* but fun to meet up with a ?.

So sorry to hear Iris needs another op. What a brave girl she is.
Thinking of grannySomerset today and those with worries.

BlueBalou Tue 11-Jan-22 07:21:24

Good morning everyone from foggy Wiltshire, a murky start here.
Off for coffee with a friend this morning then back to tackling sorting through my crafting stash that’s far too big!
Roll on Spring! I need sunshine and to see new growth in the garden.

Alizarin Tue 11-Jan-22 07:13:49

Good morning from south Cornwall where it's dry and calm. To my allotment knitters' group today at a community cafe on the sea front. Before that a visit to the farmer's market where they sell the best ever bread and large chewy rice krispie cakes that all but pull your teeth out. Unfortunately irresistible. Dear Iris, how hard to watch her go through this. Have the best day you can everyone.

Jaxjacky Tue 11-Jan-22 07:04:54

Good morning all from a dark, foggy S Hants, 8deg. I didn’t realise Iris had been in pain grandMattie, let’s hope this op is the last.
Back to voluntary drives today, a couple to do and more washing.
Wishing you all a good day with the odd ?.

harrigran Tue 11-Jan-22 06:51:51

Good morning from the NE where the ground is damp but it is 4 degrees.
Hairdresser coming at 9am, I set the alarm but woke early anyway.
Had message from DD to say she was uncomfortable after her investigations yesterday and was resting, she has to return for more bloods and another scan so won't be leaving the UK this week.
Nothing planned for the rest of the day so may catch up with TV.
Kind thoughts to all
