Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and dry outside here in brackley .
Housework day, after a small shop this morning.
Visit from new manager doing usual alarm systems checks.
Take Care,
Mick
I dont know what a dun rise is but the SUN RISE is spectacular.
Gooood morning from Yorkshire. The sky is an absolutely beautiful dun rise.
I SHOULD have set my alarm for 6.30 to be at my DD in time to get my GD while my DD took the others to school WHO SET IT FOR 7.30 !!
Today me and my GD will sew, she is only 4 and she has made a little bag, she can pin and sew using the machine, obviously a lot of help from me.
Enjoy your day everyone.
Good morning all from a milder Glasgow, where it's 7°.
Thank you for thinking of me GM. I was so sorry to hear of what lies ahead for Iris. A very brave wee girl. ?
Life is rather problematic for me at the moment and I do not wish to drag this lovely thread down with my negativity and moaning, so sometimes its better to just keep quiet and not post!!!
I have an hour long appointment with a cardiologist at the National Heart hospital today. For the last three years, I have been taking part research, funded by BHF, into my heart condition, which is more prevalent in women and often goes undetected (like me), as it's very difficult to diagnose. It took ten months of tests to diagnose mine and now something else is afoot! ?
Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done for me personally, but hopefully this research will help the next generation of women. I firmly believe in doing as much as we can to help with medical research, otherwise how will science progress? I am a serial research candidate!!
Due to my ongoing vulnerability, if I catch Covid, the cardiology nurse was very accommodating and asked me if I felt comfortable coming, if so, when would I like to come!
My emergency admission to hospital a few years ago, as a consequence of an allergic reaction to a new RA drug and subsequent heart attack, actually saved my life! I had absolutely no idea that there was something wrong with my heart. I was indeed very fortunate. Life is full of little or sometimes very big ironies. ?
My biggest worry today will be getting my waist measured. HELP!!! #wee, fat woman ?
I am so glad to hear that you are receiving lots of support GrannySomerset, your late husband sounds as if he was a kind and loving man.
We too used the facility for informing Government agencies of a family death, it saved so much hassle. However, we still ordered six additional certificates for banks, private pensions etc., who all wanted original versions.
Wishing you all the best of days and the strength and resilence to deal with what life is throwing at you and your families at the moment. Sadly, a fair number on hear have so much sorry to contend with. ?
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s quite mild for a change and dry. My weather app says it’s 10 degrees so I might get a quick walk around the garden this morning to see if anything is growing yet
Later I’m going for my usual splash around at the Aqua class at the gym and then across the retail park with my friend to Costa for coffee and a catch up. That should pass most of the afternoon as we can chat for ages!
Hope olddudders journey goes well today Ash
I’d like to join the RHS Gingster but we’ve nothing nearby, sometimes I wished I lived somewhere much closer to good places to visit - never mind though we’ve got Nessie ?
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from a brightening, frosty Colchester. A dry bright day in the offing.
Regular Wednesday coffee meetup in town this morning.
My new dehumidifier is drying laundry really quickly, so there is plenty of ironing for later.
Love to all ? x
Good morning from icy North Wales.
May have to scrape the car if I go out later.
All leave has been cancelled at the hospital where DD works. Hard for her as DGS aged 2 seems to catch all the germs that float around at nursery and gets sent home.
Thoughts with Grannysomerset and all who are struggling with illness and sadness.
Morning everyone! It's a beautiful morning here on the south coast (4 deg.) with a gorgeous pink sky as the sun comes up. Reminds me of a hymn we used to sing at school assembly. "When morning gilds the sky" . Looks like we might get a nice day today after a murky misty one yesterday.
DH is out for the day with his cycling club so I have a day to myself which I hope to use fruitfully but may just potter. Seems to suit me better! (#lazygran).
Safe journey Olddudders and to anyone else travelling today. Have the best day you can everyone. Spring really is gearing up to appear again - won't be long!
Morning all !
Chilly in Cheshire .
Might go for a walk later. Still slobbing in bed with cuppa.
Haven't looked at the News on phone yet this morning. Find it just irritates me now.
Kind thoughts to all going through a difficult time.
grandMattie it was Schroder by Amity Gaige.
Good morning all from North Leicestershire.
Today is my most glamorous friend's 86th birthday so I must deliver her card and while I'm out, buy some onions. I thawed some chicken thighs yesterday believing they had bones and skin. They don't!!!! Bang goes the tray bake but we will have lots of paprika chicken in the freezer.
gg, i feel your oain - today I have yet another phone call to Sky about the fact that our upstairs sitting room keeps losing signal. It has been ongoing since October and is driving me nuts.
Good morning all and I haven’t looked out yet. I do hope it’s not icy !
Yesterday was lovely and our Bridge club was full of fun and laughter. Not what you would imagine an afternoon of Bridge to be ! I’ve been to other groups where the atmosphere is quite ‘deadly’. ?
Not much on today. I will see if DD needs anything done for her. Yesterday, bless her, she went with one of her twin boys(15) by cab to do some food shopping. I told her I would take her today but she likes to be independent. Not easy when you’re on crutches but all went well and she was chuffed with herself.
We have rejoined the RHS and were thinking of going to Hyde Hall for a walk and coffee but I don’t think the weather is going to be good. Foggy and damp. Might leave it today. We cancelled our membership a couple of years ago because we can’t take dogs there and it seems mean that we are walking in the lovely countryside without little pooch running alongside us. It’s very reasonable to join so even if we go once every couple of months , it’s very worthwhile.
Bon voyage olddudders
Good luck with dental visits ?. My turn on Friday ?
Here’s hoping you all have a happy day. ?
Good morning everyone from a frosty Northampton, feeling very chilly, but I have a nice warm cat sitting on my lap! Have to wait for my tea this morning as I have just taken my once a week tablet, which I have to take on an empty stomach and then wait for half an hour afterwards before eating or drinking!
A few jobs done yesterday morning, then a good health walk after lunch, with a new bit added to our usual route. We all went for coffee afterwards and a good chat. Our group leader was 70 yesterday, so he treated everyone to their drinks!
Started my new book 'Ariadne' yesterday; a story based around the Greek myth of Theseus, Ariadne and the Minotaur. It was a Christmas present from DD and she is keen to read it after me. Not sure what I think about it yet.
Not much planned for today; might give the study a tidy and flick round with the duster. Must also finish the Sainsbury's order for tomorrow, and then get a chilli in the slow cooker.
Take care and stay safe.
Good morning from a frosty Oxfordshire.
Early start today, shopping arriving soon, MissOops and dog also arriving soon, dog staying, but bags and boxes being collected for the house move tomorrow, they will be here tonight to eat and sleep. Then an old car being delivered, also early, to be shunted into a corner of the drive.
Then a Trustees Zoom meeting this evening, hope I remember, I forgot the last one!
Hope all have a good day and that Marydoll is ok.
Hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.
Good morning from chilly Shropshire?
Yesterday we had our first delivery from HelloFresh.Absolutely delicious meal and good sized portions.
Today we are going into town for DH haircut and for me to get my glasses adjusted. We also need to collect a new badge for the car as somebody helped themselves to ours when we were out and about a couple of weeks ago.£76 for a new badge?
Wishing olddudders a safe journey and hope the dentist goes ok Ash.
Thinking of Mary and hope you are feeling better and back with us today?
Thoughts with GrannySomerset and all with worries and struggles??
Good morning all from dark Harrogate. I have physio at 10 am so have to get a move on.
Safe journey Olddudders, and good luck with the dentist Ashcombe.
Have been awake half the night so shall probably have a zzzzzzzzzzz after lunch
Thinking of Grannysomerset andMarydoll and all those who have troubles.
Have the best day you can folks.
Morning Mick and all
Just beginning to get light here in S E Essex.
I am off to the gym this morning, then it will be endless phone calls regarding my car and sorting out some banking.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning from dark East Yorkshire . It’s 3 degrees today. The gritters were out last night but it doesn’t appear to be especially icy.
I had a good day yesterday catching up with ladies at coffee morning and a couple of other people I bumped into there. GS was here after school and he made us laugh some of the things he comes out with. He likes to climb all over Grandad and use him as a slide ! After he had his tea he looked across to Grandad and said “You know what’s coming” ??
I’m planning to get out somewhere today not sure where. I could do with looking for a couple of new cushions . I will also make some soup in my soup maker as I have veg that needs using up.
Safe journey back to France to OD
Take care all.
Good Morning everyone from a cold and frosty Severnside. I’m glad to be cosy in a warm bed with my first cuppa.
Some homeworking this morning and pottering later. I must move about more. Yesterday I sat all afternoon catching up with The Crown then changed chairs to watch tv.
I hope you all have a good day and olddudders has a safe and trouble free journey ❄️?
Morning all from a colder, +2, S Hants. Voluntary day on the phone after my two drives yesterday. Also off to get my ears unbunged this afternoon, an exciting life!
Safe journey Ash to oldudders and a ten out of ten at the dentist.
I never have much to say either cornergran, you sorted your friend though, brilliant.
Thoughts with those struggling, let’s all hope for a ?or two to brighten our day.
What book was that dragon?
Good morning, up early again as the cleaners didn’t come yesterday as the car wouldn’t start, so coming today. It seems to take us much longer to get ready in the mornings than it used to.
Book club meeting became quite heated last night as the book raised many questions.
Scrabble with friends this afternoon if I stay awake long enough!
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Good morning all from a very frosty Black country, plenty of scrapping of car windows going on.
Mums and toddlers today so will catch up later, lamb tagine going into the slow cooker.
Safe journey olddudders and anyone else travelling, best wishes anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed. Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.
Good morning All, off shortly for a swim and Aqua Jog class. Daughter is coming here to work from "home" as she is having her bathroom remodelled so not really conducive to a great working environment. OH and I are going to do our best to keep out of her way and plan to go out for coffee and do some shopping. I may then retreat to the shed and do a spot of de-cluttering in there. Then Slimming World where I am not hopeful of any loss. Enjoy your day Folks, whatever you are doing.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks dry and clear, the forecast fog hasn’t arrived.
Unexpected hitches sorted yesterday we managed to pack away our friends Christmas decorations. She’ll be immobile in hospital for a while, her leg surrounded by what looks like Meccano. Routine day ahead. Grocery delivery, dust removal and with luck a walk along the river. I rarely feel I’ve anything interesting to share.
Safe travels to your husband ash and a good luck at the dentist wish for you. Careful with your foot grandMattie.
Thoughts are with all struggling at the moment. Hope Wednesday is gentle with us all.
All the best to olddudders’ journey. And to you Ash at the dentist - my turn tomorrow.
