I was just thinking this morning, Harry and Meghan seem to have gone very quiet…?

Our police are stretched to the limit and should never be available for private hire or where will it end? If the private security in California enables them to do the equivalent of foodbank drop offs, then surely private security in the UK will be just as secure? As Harry well knows private individuals in the UK are not permitted to carry guns which must be the biggest security risk. If they care to return to the UK and carry out official engagements then police security will be provided free of charge.

Actually couldn't care less about this now. Just as well there was no social media and DM when Henry V111 was alive! Would have had a field day!
Sorry for the Queen but I think the Royals are on a downward spiral - where I live anyway!

I'm sure that there are any number of private bodyguarding firms in London that would be able to provide former military/ and probably former royal bodyguards. He chose to leave royal life and presumably has been sourcing his own security staff in LA for several years

This just sounds like a PR stunt

More trouble and more law suits drifting around. Those two, Harry and Andrew, between them are causing so much grief for the Queen in her later years, and whilst still in mourning. It's just awful for her, and I hope she manages to get through the coming year in good health and can keep her mind occupied with something else and not dwell on the actions of these two, but I'm sure it must be very stressful for her.

It sounds as if he has already offered to pay for the use of the protection branch for his family while they are in this country, but the Home Office refused to comply, and now his solicitors have advised that he is prepared to take the matter to a judicial appeal because his security people don’t have the same resources as our police.

As they have been so many cuts in policing, I’m not sure that this request is going to be a popular one, despite it being for a specialist unit, and he has certainly picked a very awkward week for the Royal Family to bring it forward,

Sorry lemsip your post wasn’t up when I started one on the same subject. I’ll ask GNHQ to remove mine.

Would be more worried for Megan really as she's not popular here after the Orphra showdown

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 15-Jan-22 23:30:24

Where did you read that?

Give me back my bodyguards: Prince Harry threatens legal action against the government and demands return of police protection because 'it is not safe for the Sussexes to return to UK for visits'
