Been discussed before, I know, but in the DT today, it seems that support for this to be the Duchess of Cornwall’s title in the fullness of time is ever more likely.

I, for one, would be pleased to see this happen. Princess Consort would be a silly title for the wife of the King.

I have never thought Charles will allow his beloved wife to hold an inferior title.

Sorry lemsip do say

Oh I see Annie Yes of course I know about the Morton book.

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 11:43:52

Kate she sent tapes to Morton for his book, the tapes were later released by the chap who was the go between

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 11-Feb-22 11:37:50

Calendargirl, Charles didn’t go fishing on his wedding day. Ridiculous.

Kate1949 Fri 11-Feb-22 11:36:29

I honestly didn't know she'd written a book. I know there are lots that have been written about her but not by her.

Petera Fri 11-Feb-22 11:34:33

Lucca

Oh come on.

I'm not sure if this refers to the book. But I too am unaware of any book, which is not really surprising as I don't know explcitly about any books written about her - of which I assume there are many.

Lucca Fri 11-Feb-22 11:25:59

Oh come on.

Kate1949 Fri 11-Feb-22 11:25:07

I didn't know Princess Diana had written a book Annie. What is it called? I wouldn't mind reading that.

The fishing would have taken place at Balmoral, which was a few weeks after the wedding. The royals always fish at Balmoral, nothing to see there.

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 11:04:58

That was at Balmoral

eazybee Fri 11-Feb-22 11:02:12

Diana and Charles posed for pictures on their honeymoon by a river which may have been Broadlands or Scotland; she was wearing a county type outfit of possibly tweed. Her going- away outfit was a very pretty pink dress and jacket and hat; most unsuitable for fishing.
And wasn't the first appearance of her in Charles' company a photo taken on the banks of a river, where she was spotted lurking in the trees?

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 11:00:48

No one yet has claimed to have seen Camilla fishing with him

Parsley3 Fri 11-Feb-22 10:49:51

I assumed the fishing incident took place, if it did, at whatever location they were at for the honeymoon as Diana was seen there wearing her going away outfit. Just thought I would throw it into the gossip and speculation pot as someone mentioned inside knowledge as a source and I remembered this. It is certainly irrelevant.

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 10:42:50

Guests at the wedding included heads of state yet Charles left
the palace to go fishing ,

It’s a wind up

Lucca Fri 11-Feb-22 10:27:36

I think the fishing story is twaddle. And even if true ages ago and irrelevant.

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 10:20:39

I do not believe Charles went fishing on their wedding day, and
Diana would have said so in her book if it was true

Calendargirl Fri 11-Feb-22 10:05:38

Germanshepherdsmum

As the Queen Mother used to do.

Probably not on her wedding day though?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 11-Feb-22 10:00:40

As the Queen Mother used to do.

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 09:53:44

They went to Broadlands, then to Gibraltar to board Britannia for three week cruise then to Balmoral where they gave a brief
photoshoot for the press , why not fish at Balmoral

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 11-Feb-22 09:46:28

Then I think they went on to Scotland which might be where he did some fishing. Was he supposed to just gaze into her eyes 24/7?

Anniebach Fri 11-Feb-22 09:37:54

They went to Broadlands

I have inside knowledge, an eye witness no less, that after the wedding Charles went off fishing leaving Diana alone on their big day. Still, the RF were provided with the heir and the spare which was the object of the exercise. I don’t begrudge Charles a bit of happiness in his old age. In fact, I pity the lot of them because who would want to live a life where every move is scrutinised and criticised. My wish is that when it is George’s turn he will say stuff that for a game of soldiers, I’m off.

How could he have gone fishing on their wedding day. We're talking about 40 years ago when weddings were much shorter affairs than they are now. There would only have been 3 or 4 hours between their appearance on the balcony and their heading off on honeymoon, and presumably during those hours there was the formal reception and lunch.

Unless you mean that as soon as they got to Scotland he headed off fishing.

Did your mother pack your hot water bottle in your car ?

nadateturbe Fri 11-Feb-22 09:19:49
