Been discussed before, I know, but in the DT today, it seems that support for this to be the Duchess of Cornwall’s title in the fullness of time is ever more likely.

I, for one, would be pleased to see this happen. Princess Consort would be a silly title for the wife of the King.

I have never thought Charles will allow his beloved wife to hold an inferior title.

What my friend told me was what he himself had seen of Diana’s behaviour. He was a professional man of some standing and integrity well able to form an unbiased view.

we don't know 'your friend' so only have your word for that..... so not worth quoting here. in my opinion

Tina49 Thu 10-Feb-22 17:39:51

Enough, enough!!

One thing I definitely believe is not true, Charles and Camilla wanted to marry when they were young but were not allowed to

But you don’t know - you just (as we all do) have a bias towards one possible truth.

Did you see the bracelet Avaline ? Who told the world about the bracelet and the cuff links ?

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:36:11

Tina only three new the truth, sadly now only two know the truth .

The 'Squidgygate' tapes? The engraved bracelet? Just some examples of actual existing facts.

I don’t rely on the media , some even believe ‘The Crown’

But you must need to rely on the media, unless you are a close friend of the RF members we are talking about?

What my shooting friend told me wasn’t hearsay, though of course when I repeat it it becomes hearsay. I have no reason to doubt his recollection of what he saw.

Not wishing to disbelieve you or your friend, but I guess it may be that someone else might have passed on a different opinion, having been in the same place at the same time. If one was more a friend of the groom, rather than of the bride, type of thing.
And, at the end of the day, it’s not facts is it - it was someone’s opinion regarding another person.

Then it must be true Petra

The source is as accurate as every other source here, pro- or anti-.

Like it or not we all rely on the media.

Mollygo yes it all ended sadly and people were hurt.

Were those who said Chsrlescwas in an affair with Camilla when he married truthful people ?

Well that’s one way of (not) answering my questions. So it’s ok to reference dodgy sources because that what someone else did?
All a bit tedious really

My aunt's penfriend's step cousin said that Diana was killed by the Archbishop of Canterbury because she intended to marry Dodi and raise William and Harry as Muslims.

grin

The problem with this thread is it’s all based on hearsay. We know what ‘someone else’ tells us, whether that someone else is the media (newspapers and television), the internet, the grounds man, the ‘official’ biographer, a ‘friend of Diana’ or the ubiquitous brother of a cousin’s next-door-neighbour who used to live in a tree house outside Diana’s window and heard it all verbatim.
It all ended sadly, but I’d still like to know who thinks Diana would have begrudged Charles later happiness?

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:10:16

No it isn’t ok to reference dodgy sources but it’s what’s done here, so I have decided to join them.

A groundsman at Clarence House said ,

Who did he say it to? Was he a truthful person? How do you know this? Did you sing in a happy way before you got married?

Why is a horrible comment ? The night before the wedding
she was heard singing‘tomorrow I will be the princess of Wales,
why did she meet him on a shoot when she hated shoots

How on earth do you know that?

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 16:14:19

Aveline please explain how you know Charles was in a relationship with Camilla when he married ?

Fed up with this gossipy thread.
