It occurred to me today that it is only a couple of months or so until April, when the sail blinds go back up in the conservatory to reduce glare and heat???????
Blue skies in Bristol with an icy morning mist drifting away to the hills. I love this time of year when all is crisp and frosty. Nature is at the bottom of herself preparing to spring back to life.
We’ve had some wonderful sunny clear blue skies here in Northumberland. Today is another glorious such day. Luckily we’ve not had much rain as we still await roof repairs afternoon November’s storm Arwen.
Usually find January a difficult and somewhat hideous month. However, it hasn't been so awful this year (weatherwise) for me and here we are having nearly kicked it into touch. Yippee! February is kindly shorter and then March gives us our hour back. All positives for me. Onwards!
Grey it is down south, you’re right WW2, tedious, this day last year we had thunder snow early in the morning, that would be welcome to break up the eternal grey.
What are you all talking about? This was Devon last Friday lunchtime. Many daffodils are out too and otters are playing in the river. We had a beautiful week, but a bit grey today.
January could be a whole worse than drab. If drab means being snow free then that's fine by me. I will be glad to see the Spring though.
Very good point. Me too.
Here in East Yorkshire we had many sunny days last week and I too fetched out the sunglasses. I felt so much more energetic and happy. However the last 2 days have been so grey and bleugh and my mood is the same. Roll on spring.
But the snowdrops are out, the cyclamen is bright and cheerful and other plants are flowering. A neighbour's tree is bursting into bloom (the flowers arrive before the leaves).
I was married January 31st. It was the only day in January it didn’t rain that year where I lived. I’m loving the mild weather we are currently experiencing. Our blinds are half way down to stop the glare and just as soon as my OH removes the dinner plates I’m off out to the greenhouse to do some potting up. Not doing February here. Off to the tropics and by March I expect to return to spring.
