Good Morning Everyone,
Its another dry and dark start to the day here in brackley .
I have changed plan today, thanks to surgery doing stitch removal not taking place today but tomorrow .
So my usual routine tomorrow will happen today , with bus to Bicester and doing usual , I will also do a early local shop as well.
Take Care,
Mick
Thanks MD. x
It's good to see you posting Megs. I wondered where you were.
Fingers crossed the oxygen helps your husband.
Belated (very) Good Mornin all. After weeks of scary breathlessness following his COPD flare up in December , my husband has had visits from various pleasant nurses and today had an arterial blood test for oxygen level, he will now have ambulatory oxygen, which I hope will be a big help, he (and I ) haven’t really been able to leave the house for weeks now so here’s hoping ?????????????.
Had wonderful call from grandson in OZ also today so feeling more upbeat.
Best wishes to all who are ill or ‘fragile’ and who have family worries. xx
The airport's fault Urms
I thought it was unusual when I saw easyjet.
Good morning from another grey day in coastal West Sussex.
I’m pleased to hear there is sunshine further north. Our turn will come ?
Serendipity your photo cheered me up, especially the pig taking a stroll. We kept a pig in a far-distant life.
Mick you will be relieved to get your stitches out - they can get very tight-feeling.
Thoughts with Harrigran, GrannySomerset and others feeling their losses. And of course with all who have their own or family health problems - hope ChrissieLou’s daughter is ok (relatively speaking).
I am off to boil up marmalade which I have been preparing since Monday. I was hoping DH would chop the peel but no sign so far ?. I need inspiration from Granmattie.
Just popped in to say hello, have been glued to the tv this week watching the Australian Open, but have read all the posts. Sun is out here at the moment but cold out. Lots of people on here with family worries, my best wishes for a better day to everyone.
No EV it’s 14:10hrs to Manchester with Mr. O’Leary.
?
Just popped back (we’re at Malaga airport - it’s VERY quiet) and have caught up on your posts.
Chrissielou I can’t imagine how frightening last night must have been for all of you. You’d be trying to comfort your grandchildren whilst worrying about your daughter at the same time. Waiting for that ambulance must have added to your anxiety. I hope today has better news for you.
And poor you boat I think you’ve been very brave. Shame you had a flare of your condition hollysteers and had to cancel meeting your friend. Hope you feel better soon. It sounds as though you know the drill.
I posted the wrong Matt cartoon earlier! Duh. Here is today’s.
Right, I’m going to ring my stepfather, choose a glass of something delicious to enjoy with my lunch from the ‘Giraffe’ menu and sit back and relax.
Hope you enjoy your hair appointment Marydoll it will do you good to chat with old friends.
Good Morning All x.
The sun is trying its best this morning and will be a welcome change from the dullness these past few days. Not too cold either which is another bonus.
Just glanced at Urms departure, which is 11.10, the only flight to Manchester, so that must be it. A safe journey to her.
Sad to learn of your DD's set-back ChrissieLou a scary episode for all concerned so I hope it can be resolved and leave her feeling slightly better than she must have felt. x.
Hope all these positives quickly revert to negatives for those with obvious symptoms. ( it sounds like a back to front wish )
I'll have to do some walking around the block here as my feet have been swollen for quite some time now that I have to squeeze my shoes on, can't even get my boots on at all. I'm not sure what's causing it other than circulation because my ankles aren't swollen, just the feet, though admit they aren't as bad as they were as my toes too had once swelled.
I'm a mystery that's for sure
Still, it's nothing to what so many have to contend with.
Some tidying to do and there might be enough washing to fill the machine, I'll see. Not that it would dry outside as there isn't even a breeze.
Coffee time----the extent of my excitement at the moment then sort something for dinner later, maybe baked potatoes with grated cheese.
I hope everyone has a decent day and a fruitful one if shopping. You're doing well Marydoll and it's good to see.
Funny when I mention " shopping " I think of MD
Anyway stay safe and well everyone. xx
PS, loved the view of the rolling hill with the sheep, beautiful.
Warming up a bit here in London now, after a very chilly start. Hope your DD is ok, Chrissielou, what a worry for you all.
Sorry you’re still not able to get out and about Marydoll - and sorry your shopping was a bit fruitless. Some days are like that, aren’t they?
Off to pick up DGS from nursery now - hope he’s calmer than yesterday!
Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy Carlisle. I'm gloomy too as DS2 has departed southwards, on his way back to Australia in a few days. I don't like to dwell on how long it will be before we see each other again. I need to start planning a trip out there I think. Meanwhile I'm going to be busy today with some housework to keep my mind off the empty house.
He went for a fell walk yesterday whilst I pootled round Keswick and managed to find a replacement cap for one I'd lost...it had a fleecy lining and ear flaps (not one of those trapper caps!). It's been hard to find one as the fashion seems to be for beanies at the moment plus I have a small head and one size hats are always too big.
There seems to be a lot of covid being caught. Both my Australian grandsons have had it, mildly fortunately and I hope that goes for everyone else.
I also hope your DD is getting on well Chrissielou, that was an alarming occurrence especially for those poor GC.
And the best possible day to all.
Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Enjoyed a Burns ‘Night’ in the afternoon yesterday at music club with Scottish music, haggis and tatties. Haggis very tasty and enough for me to bring home for tonight.
After that, picked up my husband’s ashes separated from the ashes being interred with his brother on Friday.
Off to lunchtime concert soon on the bus instead of the car for a change.
Had a bad stomach for days, old war wound from adhesion surgery, hernia, plus IBS. Bad cramps and just felt very tired, but no sickness thank goodness. Made me cancel a lunch with a friend which I hate doing, I forget about it and it crops up every now and again. Read that the child pose in yoga can help, so been doing that and drinking honey cider vinegar,
Thoughts to chrissielou and iris. Will read through tonight.
Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
So sorry to hear how unwell your DD must have been ChrissieLou. Hope she is soon back to as normal as she can be at the moment.
My week, so far, has been upside down, to say the least. On Monday, I was convinced that it was Tuesday, and wondered why I was getting no answer from the hairdresser. As she doesn't open the salon on Mondays, I'm not surprised. Anyway, we had a great clear out of DH surplus cables etc, and hooray, they all went with the bin-men yesterday morning.
Then, a bit later we decided to go out, and the car wouldn't start. So called the Assistance we have through our car purchase. The AA arrived much more quickly than expected and asked whether we had started up the car, stopped it, then started it again very soon after. Hands up, that was me. I was looking for something in the garage, and so just took the car outside. Evidently it is a 'thing' with new cars. All OK now, and took it for a longish drive.
Not sure what today holds, might make a cake to take to granddaughter on Friday. Great-grandson is a great cake fan.
Sending best wishes to brave Iris and a big well-done toMarydoll for braving the hairdresser.
Have a good day one and all.
Good morning all from a cloudy but bright W Kent. Looking forward to seeing lovely longtime friend for coffee, then afternoon collecting DH glasses.
Best wishes to all dealing with life's problems.
Good morning Mick and everybody. Grey and still in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 7°C. Mr. B has gone shopping and I’m sorting the laundry. Still no icy pavements so I will be able to have my daily walk.
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?
Just finished my breakfast and the Guardian crossword. We are going to a nearby pottery for lunch today. They do delicious quiche and salads. I might have a peek in the shop and see if they’ve any Christmas things on sale. Looking out of the Dining room window, the sky is mottled blue and white. But it’s cold.
Good morning all,
Lovely to see some sunshine today after days of dull grey. I feel much brighter myself just seeing some sun.
What a worrying time for you all, Chrissielou. I do hope your daughter feels better today and is allowed home soon.
Poor Iris, Grandmattie. Fingers crossed that she will be fully recovered well before her op next month.
Take care everyone. I haven’t read all the posts yet, only scanned them, so will catch up now.
Good Morning all from dry and bright Harrogate. Don't know what happened to yesterdays post, it disappeared! However I might up with Newquay for a coffee and a chat - it was like we'd known each other for years! The time just flew.
Sorry Iris has covid, but it will hopefully pass quite quickly, and should be all over with for her op.
That sounds horrible for your DD Jax hope she isn't suffering too much
Have a safe journey Urms back to the frozen north.
Have the best day possible folks.
Just checked in again and saw your post*Chrissielou*, so sorry for all of you, you, your daughter and family are in my prayers
A blank day but need to stay in for the plumber who is coming (some time) to look at why our downstairs radiators are not performing properly - the kitchen is cold and I have left an oil filled electric radiator on all the time for the last few days. Being cold is miserable and I really don’t need it.
Am enjoying reading about people who are out and about (well done, brave Marydoll) and sorry so many families have tested positive. Let’s hope they get a mild dose of the virus, especially Iris and her family who have enough to worry about. I really do think we will all have had it by next winter!
Goooood morning from a bright and sunny Yorkshire. The sheep are out and even the pig has ventured down the lane.
Today i have my GD, we are going to make sausage rolls. We can't do any sewing as i took my sewing machine to the repair shop yesterday, so sausage rolls it is ! ( haaaa, good alternative )
Enjoy your day everyone.
Here is a photo of the view from my kitchen window, sheep and Mr Pig .

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is cloudy
6°C.
Yarn/gossip group this morning. I shall take along various projects and hope to move them on a bit.
Burns Night last night. I was watching a concert on zoom (df's DGS was performing) and cooking my tea.
The electrician was still here working on the rewiring so I asked him to share my "nae the usual Burns supper" which he did.
That must have been a terrible shock Chrissielou I hope your DD is home again soon.
Sorry to hear that Iris has covid gMattie. She has so much to contend with, the dear child,
One of my DGD has it too. She has been feverish and coughing but they say she's improving.
Baubles I know what you mean about people decluttering. I have had to make an appointment to donate - next Tuesday at my local charity shop.
Such good things there. That's where you should shop Marydoll
There is an Oxfam boutique in Newton Mearns
www.oxfam.org.uk/shops/oxfam-boutique-newton-mearns/
Cheerio and enjoy your day if you can. Haste ye back Urms
Good morning from a sunny North Wales.
I will be heading out soon to make the most of it.
Thanks to the kind GNs who sent a pm about my worries with GS. It is good to know you understand.
Have a good day everyone and wishing some ☀️ for all who need it.
Good morning all from a dry corner of the S Welsh coast.
Chrissielou I'm sorry about your dd, what a shock for you and your family, I hope she will soon be home with you.
Hope all those with medical appointments will have good outcomes.
Envious of your trip to the Range Beauregard.
My best wishes to you GG, hope you have a brighter day.
Not sure yet if we are going to see the new little family today, they put out an SOS for muslin cloths which I could only get online.
Take care everyone.
Good morning Mick and all. Bit of a surprise, it's still grey in my bit of N. Warwickshire.
I went to the Eye Clinic on Monday. The Consultant likes to have a chat. It's his way of getting patients to relax.
So he told me about the latest research on Macular Degeneration. Then he recommended a book. This Is Going To Hurt by Adam Kay based on his blog Secret Diary of a Junior Doctor. He said it was hilarious.
I thought this was a tad insensitive since he was about to stick a hypodermic needle in my eye but let it pass; you don't want to irritate people in those circumstances.
The injection wasn't too bad but the disinfectant he washed my eye with really stung, I think it wasn't diluted as much as usual.
Normally when I get back from the clinic I have a kip for 3 hours or so until my vision clears and I'm out of pain. This time it didn't work. The pain didn't abate much until about 5am on Tuesday and it's still slightly sore. At least I don't have to go back for 6 weeks.
Best wishes to everyone especially those with far more problems than me.
