Santa Claus actually comes from Turkey. St Nicholas was from a place called Myra, and archaeologist there believes they have found his bones.

Oh no Blondiescot does that mean he is dead

It's impossible to hum while holding your nose apparently.

I tried it too!
Well, I never knew that (logical really, though)

Flamingos bend their legs at the ankle, not the knee, standing on tiptoe

Hot water turns into ice faster than cold water!

Gibraltar has the only wild monkey population in Europe.

The Barbary Apes (macaques) on The Rock of Gibraltar like sponge fingers.
They attacked a German tourist and stole them from her.

Chestnut for certain brain surgeries they need you awake so they know they are in the right place. People have sung and I believe played violin whilst undergoing a brain op.

The brain feels no pain, that is why the surgeon can operate without anesthetic.

confused

There may be no pain but surely you need to be 'under' for brain surgery??? ?

Did you know that collagen and gelatin are the same thing? It's called collagen inside the body and forms connective tissue i.e. skin, tendons, ligaments etc. It's called gelatin when skeletal tissue and other animal waste is rendered down as a by product of meat production. (Vegans and vegetarians take note! This is where collagen comes from whether you swallow it or apply it externally!) A rose by any other name...

Whatever the beauty industry tells us, (and they try hard to convince us), both substances are broken down to exactly the same amino acids in the digestive system and used to repair and build new proteins.

The offer of collagen powder on GN today normally retails at £6.25 per 100g (40% off your first order fetches it down to £2.50/100g. The offer is a 400g tub for £24.99)

Amazon sells a gelatin powder for approx £1.60 per 100g. Some is even cheaper.

paleoleap.com/all-about-gelatin-and-collagen Read right to the end of this one. It's not long winded and won't blind you with science! If it doesn't work as a link, just copy and paste or type it in.

I remember, years back, being advised to eat Rowntree's Jelly cubes to strengthen my nails!

In the USA, some hair products advertise that they contain placenta.
