Morning Mick and all

Thinking of all our morning friends in Scotland and the North, I saw the weather warnings on BBC, hold on to your hats folks!!

Finally completed on DD’s new home yesterday, so today we shall be cleaning throughout before the new carpets get layed and the decorating begins, hopefully they will be moving in by the end of February.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning all from a blustery Harrogate
Yet another bad night last night shall go to the docs if I can’t improve over this weekend- very little housework is getting done and the house is like a tip.
Nothing planned apart from a snooze this pm
Have the best day you can folks

Good morning from a soggy, windy Wiltshire, off for a muddy walk with DDog.
The dresser was rehomed yesterday, so a bit of furniture rearranging this morning, tidy the kitchen and then tackle the craft room that’s become a dumping ground by DH.
We can start deciding on colours for the living/dining room now! I’m hopeless at that so I think Pinterest might be a starting point.
I hope you all have a peaceful weekend.

Good morning everyone from a bright and windy Northampton, 10°C today. No plans to go out in this wind, as there are lots of trees locally, and I get a bit scared that one will come down on me! Instead will make do with the newspapers, puzzles, knitting and my new book which I started yesterday. Cannot even watch my rugby team play away from home, as it is not being televised, but commentary is on local radio.

Had a nice little shopping trip out yesterday morning, sure enough I found something to spend my money on, eye drops, oranges and sweets - very exciting! Enjoyed a coffee and iced bun in M&S cafe. Also saw a coat I liked in Next, but not in my size. I put in a stock search on the website, and there is stock in a store which I shall be very near to tomorrow, so hoping I shall be able to pop in and try on.

Hope all have a pleasant Saturday.

Fence panel, dang and drabbit!

Grandmabatty Sat 29-Jan-22 08:26:21

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and blowing a hoolie. A fence post between my house and next door has blown down. It's wet too. Not a nice day at all.
Yesterday I felt bored. I ended up visiting dd and family for a couple of hours- at her request, I hasten to add. I don't just go without warning. Lots of playing at dinosaurs ensued.
Today I'm waiting for a Tesco delivery this afternoon but it's so wild out, I'm happy to stay in. Nothing else is planned. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a wet corner of the S Welsh coast.
Sounds like a lovely walk Beauregard, I love canals.
Going to see our family and little dgd today. We have presents from neighbours and friends for them, people are so kind. I will take them some food supplies as well.
Our little dog looks so skinny after his much needed trim yesterday. The groomers love him and he was spoiled rotten.
Enjoy your meal tonight gM.
Lovely to see GrandmaFrench's post and glorious photo yesterday.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A mild, dry day forecast.
I have an empty so I plan to get lots of little niggly jobs done and then settle down to do nothing much. I'll probably make the most of the weather in the garden.
Love to all ? x

Just grey and dry in Oxfordshire this morning, not as cold today. Woke early, which is annoying as it's not a working day. Too much on my mind I expect. No plans apart from batch cooking for DD1 and wrapping some birthday gifts, and of course, the inevitable cleaning! Wishing you all a good Saturday.

cornergran Sat 29-Jan-22 07:41:08

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is wild and wet.

Yesterday was a decent day. Two bags of clothes to a charity shop, enjoyed a beach walk, Mr C collected his new glasses which are much more comfortable than the old ones, grocery delivery arrived with everything we ordered.

Mr C put in a bid for breakfast out this morning, looks like we may get blown there but why not? Otherwise a quietish day ahead.

Stay safe and have the best day you can everyone.

Beauregard Sat 29-Jan-22 07:41:04

Good morning from a very breezy but mild Derbyshire. It's just getting light and the sky looks clear.

We enjoyed our walk yesterday, which took us along a canal tow path to the newly restored Bennerley Viaduct, which spans the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border and offers great views over Ilkeston, Eastwood and surrounding areas. You can now walk across the "Iron Giant" as it's known, although I'm not able to say what it's like at the other end as DH has a severe heights phobia and was unable to venture more than a few yards along it before turning back to safer ground! Perhaps another time I'll do the full walk and he will wait at the start and watch the trains go by!

Not much planned today. A few jobs this morning and a new recipe curry to make for dinner.

Hope Saturday is a good day for all.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is blowing a gale.
I am feeling recovered from my bout of a tummy bug and raring to go today!!
I too have noticed the prices going up everywhere.
I will go for a mooch into town today as I need some bits. DH is off out on his motorcycle with DS I hope they don’t blow away!! He says DS needs to go out in all weather’s before their trip to Europe In April as he is a new rider?
Have a lovely meal out GM I fancy a pizza today too.
I have had such a time with some residents on our estate who seem to be unhappy with my community projects?. There’s no way we can please everyone though is there. I will calm it down for a while, see if he and his friends go quiet!! The litter picking can wait!!!
Take care everyone and stay safe and upright in this wind!!❤️

brook2704 Sat 29-Jan-22 07:39:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s been a wild and windy night (outside?) and it’s still like that this morning
Sounds like a lovely evening ahead GM enjoy!
We’re going to DD2 house this morning, I’ll take DGD to her dance class then we’ll have to think of something to do with DGS - preferably indoors as I don’t fancy traipsing round a wet and windy park today.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

EllanVannin Sat 29-Jan-22 07:36:58

Good Morning All x.
Another hoolie beginning here too Marydoll as we're in for severe gales for the next two days sad My poor pine tree will be bent a bit further over after last November's blasts. Cold too !

Up with the lark for an imminent Asda delivery which I'm so glad of because I hate going out in the strong winds. In fact I've been up since 05.30 when I visited the bathroom so stayed up and pottered, had a wash, 2 cups of tea so now just waiting.

Although I slept well without disturbances Ashcombe, I still had to wake up handy for delivery smile Not to worry, Sunday tomorrow so maybe a couple of hours longer in bed.

Why did I suddenly think of an old school hymn when I woke up ? " Glad that I live am I ", and it's planted in my ear now----even some of the words !

Just a bit of tidying up to do and then a piece of beef to roast for tomorrow, so an audience of cats will be sitting around the oven sniffing the air grin I'm sure old Tom the stray knows Sundays when he gets extra bits.

Be wary of the weather if out and about today and take care everyone. Stay safe and keep well and warm. xx

Good morning from a milder Essex by the sea.
We had a lovely meal and a bottle of wine last night at a local restaurant but I had such a bad night, didn't sleep very well at all.
We are off to Gillingham this morning, early, to go and pick up the paperwork for DH's new boat and to look round it again.
I am sincerely hoping that the roads are kind to us.
Have a great Saturday everyone xx

Good morning all from a very stormy Glasgow which is forecast for the weekend. Footering about indoors is the order of the day which will include some craft work, reading my latest book perhaps or whatever else I find to occupy the day.

Bon appétit for this evening GrandM.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Marydoll Sat 29-Jan-22 07:09:51

Good morning from Glasgow, where its 10°C and blowing a hoolie outside.?We have a yellow weather warning, so we are battening down the hatches.

Best wishes to all. Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

baubles Sat 29-Jan-22 07:05:30

Good morning Mick, morning all from wet and windy South Lanarkshire.

Another day at work today. Not sure why but I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying it.

Good to hear of everyone’s busyness, it does seem that we’re on the road to normal life again.

Have a good day. ??

mumofmadboys Sat 29-Jan-22 07:03:35

Weather sounds wild outside in Cumbria although haven't peered out yet! Enjoying a cuppa in bed. Hope everyone has a peaceful day. We have friends coming for a meal tonight so cooking and a quick clean around for me. Take care especially those with illness or worries.

Alizarin Sat 29-Jan-22 06:46:07

Good morning from south Cornwall where it's mild and dry. Lovely breeze wafting across my bed. Six year old granddaughter coming for the day; given a choice of Nana's or Plymouth Aquarium she chose my place. Then 12-year-old-grandson-sitting at my son's overnight. Only two daffodils have appeared in my patio tubs this year; no wandering lonely as a cloud for me here! Have a good Saturday.

Ashcombe Sat 29-Jan-22 06:42:56

Good morning to the early birds and those who arrive later from a milder, dry Torbay. Yesterday gave us a few sunny hours but I couldn’t take advantage due to an arranged visit from the block manager which didn’t materialise. Grrh!

My food bill from Lidl hasn’t altered noticeably but I have a smart meter at home and I can see a difference there with the cost of gas. It must be hard for some families with fuel prices set to rise further in the months ahead.

I appreciated the support regarding my unpleasant reaction to the GTN spray. For the first time in a few weeks, I had no angina pain yesterday so that was pleasing but I shall speak to someone at my pharmacy about it. A quiet weekend ahead with some overdue admin tasks to face.

It was a lovely surprise to see Grandmafrench posting on here yesterday. I hope she will be back. Poor you, Kali2 - I hope you are not in too much discomfort from your fall. Hope your night was peaceful, EllanVannin, after recent disturbances. Seeing your DGS and a meal out sound like a good plan, grandMattie, which I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

Have a good weekend, everyone, if possible. ?????

Gagagran Sat 29-Jan-22 06:32:41

Good Morning everyone from a 9.4c south coast. The temperature seems to be on the rise today thankfully. I ache when it's cold.

We are off to get the click and collect between 7 and 8am and DH is out again with his bike club for a morning ride at 9.15. I shall enjoy my Saturday paper and think of something for lunch when he gets back hungry.

Hope we all have a good day. sunshine

Beechnut Sat 29-Jan-22 06:11:49

Good Morning everyone. Dark and wet on Severnside.

Mmm Mick I’m going to check the prices in a minute on my till receipt from yesterday as I noticed the bread price was higher when I took the loaf from the shelf.

More crafting today and washing to do. I’m pleased with my starfish and hope Beechnutella will like them.

Hope there aren’t too many worries for you all ??

grandMattie Sat 29-Jan-22 06:09:55

Good morning from a dry E Kent. The temperatures are set to rise to double figures today. I hope that the storm forecast in the north and west won’t affect you too much.
Yes, all food is getting more expensive, Mick. All sorts of reasons, but gas/petrol prices are mainly to blame.
I have been promised more jam jars, so I can make a bit more marmalade. I’ll have enough to give for fetes etc., if they ever start again.
Had a lovely lunch with my friend yesterday., cheered me up.
This afternoon, our darling GS is coming for the night and unusually we are going out to dinner to a fancy sourdough pizza place on the quay.
Be kind to yourselves today and remember tomorrow is likely to be a better day. Carpe diem ???☀️?
