I too wear my eternity ring with engagement and wedding ring my husband gave me the eternity ring on our first anniversary 61 years ago. On my right hand my mums rings given by dad when she died in 1983. I guess they are all some of my oldest memories.

I always wear my wedding, engagement and eternity ring. After 50 years they seem part of me and a symbol of our marriage. I also wear my opal ring that DH bought me many years ago along with my mothers engagement ring and eternity ring on my right hand. Fortunately they all still fit,it would really upset me if I could no longer wear them.

I was given a ruby and diamond one for our Ruby anniversary.

As others have said, I don’t wear any of my rings very often. Used to always wear my wedding and engagement ones when I was still working, but rarely put any of them on now. My wedding ring is broad, if I were getting married now, I would choose a really slim band.

Although my fingers don’t seem fatter, I think they must be.

My husband took me into a jewellery shop to treat me to an eternity ring when I was 50. The one I chose was an Art Deco sapphire and diamond beauty but it was a bit too big. The assistant said '"Don't have it made smaller as it will be just the right size when you have arthritis".

It took the shine off the moment a bit, but the blooming woman was exactly right, it fits like a dream now.

I don't wear an eternity ring as I have small hands and had enough problem finding a wedding and engagement ring which did not go half way up my finger. No way could I wear an eternity ring on the same finger it would look ridiculous on me.

I never had an engagement ring but my DH bought me an eternity ring for my 21st. I have worn it everyday since .

MrJ bought me one as an engagement ring, emeralds and diamonds. It was wrapped up under the Christmas tree fifteen years ago, we’d lived together for eight years. I wear that, my wedding ring and a keeper ring, also from him, on my right hand.

I’m not a jewellery person but I feel quite envious of ladies whose husbands gave them an eternity ring after the birth of a child. I only had one child and my husband (long since ex) didn’t even buy me a bunch of flowers. Dad gave Mum an eternity ring when I was born so I have that as I said above, though I’d rather still have Mum. I’ve been married to my second husband for almost 25 years but wouldn’t want one now, I would have loved one back then though.

OH gave me a beautiful sapphire eternity ring after my first baby was born, sadly, because my fingers are a bit puffy I can’t wear it or my engagement ring. Nor the ruby ring which I had for our Ruby Wedding.

DH gave me a 5 diamond set eternity ring on my 50th birthday. I always thought that they were for the birth of a child and sadly I haven't had children but I look on it as a celebration of the life I have with my lovely DH.

Don't have onw, and never had an engagement ring either. We were broke, and I had inherited of a few beautiful rings from my grand-mother so it was just not a priority.

Don't wear any of them now and passed them all on to DDs and grand DD.

DH had a full hoop of diamonds made for me after our first child was born when we were living in the Far East. At the age of three same child managed to flush it down the loo! When I asked him where mummy’s ring was he was quite excited to show me. Subsequent investigations of the u bend confirmed it was truly lost. I had to wait until our fortieth anniversary for a replacement!

I have two, a diamond one and a Ruby and diamond. I did have a sapphire and diamond one which was stolen along with my original engagement ring. I have never taken my original wedding ring off. I love gold rings, I have my mother's and grandmother's wedding and engagement rings also necklaces and brooches.
Does anyone else wear a brooch? I do.

I really hankered after one as we couldn’t afford an engagement ring and a house deposit so the ring lost out. For our twenty fifth anniversary I wanted to renew our vows and have an eternity ring. Hubby said no, getting married was something you only do once, when we took our vows he meant every word and didn’t need to do it again. Then he left me the year after! Years later when I met my current husband, I wasn’t ready to get engaged and married for quite a while but he hadn’t been married before and wanted to make a commitment so he bought me an eternity ring as a ‘commitment’ ring and we chose it to go with the engagement and wedding rings at a later date. So, in a way, mine means even more to me than the subsequent rings, not specifically as a ring but because he understood how badly hurt I had been and how understanding he was to let me go at my own pace with no pressure but with a ring to show we will be together for all eternity.

I don’t have one of my own but I wear my Mum’s eternity ring on my right hand.

Audi10 Thu 03-Feb-22 16:05:47

That’s a good one a maternity ring ??

BBbevan Thu 03-Feb-22 15:59:20

Yes but my DH calls it a ‘maternity ring’ !!!!

cornergran Thu 03-Feb-22 15:54:23

I did - lost it blush. We’re still married though. smile

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Feb-22 15:53:56

I have two; a sapphire eternity ring which my ex gave me on the birth of my son and a ruby one on the birth of my daughter. I don't wear them as my fingers are too big now

grandMattie Thu 03-Feb-22 15:47:27

I fancied one, and DH gave it to me after the birth of DS2, third child in 5 years marriage…. I call it my “maternity” ring. Hardly wear either ring now - fat fingers and a bit bulky!

karmalady Thu 03-Feb-22 15:42:41

no, I never wanted one. My wedding was for life and I didn`t need a ring to remind me.

BlueBelle Thu 03-Feb-22 15:31:16

What is an eternity ring for ?
No I ve never had one in fact I don’t wear any rings at all

AGAA4 Thu 03-Feb-22 15:25:26

I have an eternity ring but I don't wear any of my rings, wedding and engagement now.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Feb-22 15:15:00

I have a diamond eternity ring, as a Christmas gift in the year our DD was born.

I am a bit lax with wearing my rings, including my wedding ring, the AC always ask if I am having a single day when I am not wearing any of them ?

Elizabeth27 Thu 03-Feb-22 15:11:50

I have never really been sure what the meaning behind them is, surely a wedding ring is forever.

I don't really understand vow renewals either, does the original vow not last forever.
