Good morning from wet Wiltshire, I’m lazy this morning enjoying a coffee before getting up.
Absolutely nothing planned for today but walking DDog and a bit of tidying up.
Lovely faggots from the farm shop with chips and peas for lunch I think, or perhaps mashed potatoes?
Enjoy your day everyone x

NannyJan53 Fri 04-Feb-22 08:45:06

Forgot to say. Hope your tests go well Ascombe, and the drive there is not too onerous x

NannyJan53 Fri 04-Feb-22 08:43:34

Good morning from a damp and grey Black Country.

Joined a new walking group yesterday who walk from Baggeridge Country Park every Thursday and first Tuesday every month. It started off drizzling then the sun came out! Then onto Mums for a walk along Staffs Railway walk with her and a mooch around a charity shop along the way, hen a pub lunch.

2nd visit to the gym this morning (it was hard work Wednesday), then housework this afternoon. Fish n chips tonight, but may go out for a change rather than cooking at home.

Sorry you are not in a good place grandMattie flowers

Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning from our corner of the S Welsh coast. I think many of you are now having the rain that we had overnight, it was so heavy that it woke me at 4am.
Hope your test go well Ash.
We are going to see our little dgd this morning, looking forward to that but not the traffic to get there.
Hope everyone will have a good day.

You need to take care of you!
Good luck with you appointment Ash
My DS used to live in Dunoon,
Stillearning it’s over 40 years since we last were there. Very pretty - I expect it’s changed. DS now lives in Lochmaben. Had a zoom call to them last night, one sister in Surrey and one in Lochmaben , so I am the filling in the sandwich. In ages too, they are older and younger than me.
Have the best day possible folks!

Good morning from Leicestershire, going Nordic walking this morning so hope the rain stops. I have missed a couple of weeks so can’t miss another.

Coming back to hang the new curtains in my newly decorated bedroom and then will await the new furniture.

Sorry to hear you are feeling low GrandMattie and your DH is not so good flowers.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Jaxjacky Fri 04-Feb-22 08:20:41

Good morning all from a wet, breezy S Hants.
Sorry you’re down gMattie, thoughts with you.
Hope the tests are all fine Ash and good news from your son Gingster.
I’ll get a walk later, it’s supposed to clear up, but colder and Tesco will deliver this afternoon.
Enjoy today if you can ??

Nannytopsy Fri 04-Feb-22 08:12:16

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I hope you enjoy your beers Mick but the market could be soggy. It’s rainy in Suffolk and forecast to remain so. We have a collection from Waitrose so we will shop there today. We are looking after our son’s two big dogs this afternoon while the DGC have friends to play. These two are big, boisterous and noisy so scary for small people.
I hope everyone is looking after themselves today. Take care.

Serendipity22 Fri 04-Feb-22 08:05:43

Good morning from Essex by the sea. It is grey, damp and cold here today.
I'm going walking with my new group this morning. It's lovely to have someone to walk and chat to. So many of us have owned up to feeling isolated these last few years.
DD1 and family are visiting London this weekend to see the musical 'Frozen', a Christmas present for the whole family. My 6 year old granddaughter is so excited to be going, the almost 13 year old not so much. The 10 year old will enjoy it as she loves musical theatre.
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling low GM, I hope you find something to smile about today.
Have the best Friday possible everyone xxx

Grandmadinosaur Fri 04-Feb-22 07:56:23

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It’s a darker morning and we have had a little rain.
Not a happy bunny today. His lordship was out with business associates last night and was late home and still sleeping this morning. Hence no cuppa in bed mmm.

I’m up showered about to have a bowl of porridge. An overnight bag to pack and then mid morning I am off to the pick up point for my coach trip to the north west. My friend and I are off to see the Strictly tour in Liverpool tonight and then tomorrow we get driven to Manchester for time there. No doubt we shall be shopping! A few showers are forecast so I’m packing a brolly.

Thoughts to all with worries, health issues.

Take care everyone.

Chrissielou Fri 04-Feb-22 07:53:51

Very heavy rain and it feels cold too this morning, its still quite dark in Oxfordshire. Dog not keen to venture out, but needs must. A busy working day and a click/collect immediately after, followed by a meal delivery to DD1, I've got to make something first though, in between zoom work meetings!
Looking forward to meeting up with my AC & GC tomorrow for coffee and cake.
flowers for all those who are struggling or worried.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its only 2 °C and not expected to rise much above that.

GM, I'm sorry to hear you DH is unwell. My DH has a similar job remit! However, you must also look after your self, this is coming from someone who does not take her own advice. ?

Kalu, I hope you got things sorted with the BP problem yesterday.

I'm a bit unsettled this morning. My GP eventually phoned at dinnertime, two wasted days awaiting a call and asked why I wanted to speak to him.
I explained he was looking to speak to me. He obviously wasn't prepared and couldn't remember the two consultants' letters he had received in the last fortnight. Of course he can't be expected to remember all his correspondence, but should know why he is phoning me. He is an excellent GP and usually, very supportive, but he just wasn't himself. I was quite concerned about him.

I asked about my recent chest xray results and he complained that was the hospital's responsibility, he hated when hospital doctors left it to him! I still don't really know anything, apart from the fact my heart is enlarged and it's fortunate I have been referred for spirometry. However, due to Covid and many respiratory consultants being deployed to ICU, not to expect an early appointment.
Now I am left wondering what is wrong. I will have to wait until the hospital doctor comes back from annual leave to find out what is going on.

My GP was quite shocked when I explained what had been happening over the last year and I rattled off my BP, SATS and peak flow readings. They are consistently not good at all.
The outcome, my new heart meds, which I have only been on for a fortnight have been doubled and he will call me next week. If they don't help, I will be off to see the professor and you know how much I love watching a professor at work. ?Hopefully, next week he will be better prepared!

DH is going to do the supermarket shopping, he thinks I am overdoing things again. I am going pick up a parcel and drop off some charity shop bags. Of course the charity shop is right next door to TKMaxx and I really should replace the contents of those bags!! ?
I bet you are glad I don't live close to you, Baubles. ?

I wish you all a pleasant and peaceful day.

A wee reminder to any Glesca Grannies, we are planning a meet soon in the Concert Hall café. There is a thread running at present.

Good morning from rainy Colchester. The sun is due back at lunchtime so will leave our walk until later.
We need to visit the supermarket and DIY shop for supplies.
Yesterday's financial news is something we'll be able to cope with but we know that our children will suffer and it's worrying.
Big hugs all round and love to all ? x

Grandmabatty Fri 04-Feb-22 07:50:21

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3°. Blue skies at the moment but snow is forecast. Grandmattie I hope you feel better soon ?. Ashcombe The Snow Queen sounds excellent. I'm glad you had a great time. Gingster good news for your family.
Yesterday was very pleasant. A catch up coffee with my aunt and a blether then we decamped to dd to see the boys on dds invitation. Then I pottered in the afternoon.
Today I'm picking up dgs1 from playgroup to let dd and sil do some house stuff. I'll keep him for a few hours. Dinner will be spaghetti carbonara. I'll have to go to Aldi first though as I need to get bread. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Fri 04-Feb-22 07:44:20

Safe travels stilllearning and I hope you enjoy your trip away

Kalu Fri 04-Feb-22 07:42:51

Good morning all. Still dark outside so I can’t tell what our weather is doing in Glasgow.

A Waitrose shop today and looking forward to DD1 and the girls arriving after school, staying for dinner, buttered chicken as requested. Eldest GD, 16 has plans to meet up at a friends house this evening, Youngest GD, 12 has no social plans in her diary and has asked if she can stay over at ours. ?. Of course she can as she enjoys any opportunity to have DH and I all to herself.

I can hear rain now!

Hoping you reach a brighter place soon GrandM ?

Have a good day all.

Beauregard Fri 04-Feb-22 07:42:38

Good morning from Derbyshire where it's raining.

I lost the back off an earring on the way to the farm shop cafe yesterday. My friend and I had a quick search but couldn't find it, so gave up. On the way home my friend said let's have one more look for it, so we stopped, I looked down at the pavement and there it was right in front of my foot!

I'm off to the supermarket soon, then later DH wants to discuss pensions and what we need to do before the end of the tax year. Boring but necessary.

I hope today is a better day for everyone with worries, sadness and illness flowers

Grandmajean Fri 04-Feb-22 07:41:42

Feels colder today here in Cheshire.
Usual Friday routine of two youngest GC after school.
First visit to choir yesterday afternoon in nearly two years. Nice to do something normal again.

Gingster Fri 04-Feb-22 07:39:31

Good morning all and we are due some rain today.

DS1 and family popped round last night with good news that he has a new job. His last company had relocated to Madrid and he didn’t want to disrupt his family . DIL also is returning part time to teaching, so celebrations all round.

I’m meeting a friend for lunch today and will, again, walk up those hills into town. Third day running (or not ‘running’) ?‍♀️?‍♀️. It’s a killer!

grandMattie - best wishes and love to you. ❤️
Ash good luck with your tests ?
Safe and trouble-free journey stillearning ??

Hoping you all have a safe and pleasant day.
???

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, looking like I won't get my usual bus trip to the shops; never mind, there's always tomorrow.

Glad I managed to cut the back grass yesterday afternoon; had to consult the instructions for the lawn mower, it being a few months since I last used it. Looks a lot neater now. Also managed to tidy some of the edges, and a bit of weeding/pruning. Managed to get stung by a rogue nettle, and had tingling fingers for the rest of the day!

Thinking of those.feeling down, hope some flamingos come along soon. flowersflowers

kittylester Fri 04-Feb-22 07:31:42

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.

Today I have to do some house work as our cleaner isn't able to come today. I have to change guest beds too. We are going away on Sunday and DD2 is arriving on the day we come home so I have to be organised.

I had a great time at our Memory Cafe yesterday - I hope the guests did too. And, brew and cupcake with my oldest friend was lovely - we always have great catch up sessions.

Have the best day possible, everyone.
