Aldi Or Lidl! Which do you prefer?

Aldi was the cheapest last year apparently.

I don’t shop in either - well perhaps 3 years ago I went to them both to have a look, and must say the prices are good.

Might have another look - got to find ways of mitigating the cost of living rise somehow.

We have both within walking distance and I have favourite products from both so they each get a look in weekly.
DH prefers Lidl but I expect that's because of the bakery.
Aldi has more choice in my opinion but Lidl has a good rewards app if you shop there regularly.
Swings and roundabouts!

We use Aldi because it is closer to us than Lidl. Both sons prefer Lidl so we must give it a try.

The fruit and veg are always better at Lidl and you can get fresh baked bread. We have three Aldi’s near us, but the nearest Lidl is miles away☹️.

I prefer Aldi as our local one is a nicer, brighter store than the Lidl, but it doesn’t have a bakery. Both good for chocolate, wine, beer, washing powder and cleaning products.

We have an Aldi five minutes drive away but we prefer the larger store a couple of miles away. My husband likes the bakery at Lidl but we don’t have a branch close to us as yet. I wish we had a Waitrose but we don’t it’s more expensive but quality is worth paying for.

I use Lidl because its a short walk away otherwise i think they are quite similar.

There's not much in it for me but think Lidl has the slight edge but that's only because of a couple of specific products.
