Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but dry here in brackley this morning.
Today, household chores come to the fore this morning , with a general tidy up ready for a spring clean .
I will have a go with Wordle later as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another clear morning. Yesterday it changed quite dramatically around lunchtime to sleety showers and high winds.
The village hall ‘do’ was very good. The first social gathering there for 2 years. Nice to see people.
Housework this morning before meeting a friend and fellow trustee for lunch. We need to scout a venue for an upcoming training session.
Sorry to hear about down days and health wobbles. Hope today is better gaga and grandmattie
Enjoy the hen do Mary.
Off to do Wordle and Nerdle
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Frost on the windscreen and I am driving DMiL on a jaunt today. Wish me luck!
I have a neg- covid test, warm clothes, rug and flask in the car.

Your day out in London sounds great BlueSapphire
Enjoy the Hen do Marydoll What a shame for the bride's mum. You'll just have to have another one smile

Best wishes to all who are feeling down today. Be kind to yourselves.

We have blue sky here in S E Essex.

Enjoy Southwold Sar53 it is such a beautiful quaint area.

No idea what is in the agenda today.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

It is a beautiful cold but sunny morning here in Oxfordshire. So lovely walking the dog earlier with the sun coming up.
Ashcombe it doesn't matter which method you utilise, the fact that you mention posters ny name is special, and I appreciated it so much.
A work day, so I must press on. I hope you all have a wonderful day and Marydoll I hope you enjoy the raucous fun and activities over the next day or so. grin

NannyJan53 Mon 07-Feb-22 08:11:25

Good morning from a cold and frosty Black Country.

It is MrJ’s 71st birthday today, so we will be out to lunch later. He was a mere 61 when we met! The time has flown by.

I have bought him tickets for a play in Birmingham called ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and for a gig at Symphony Hall to see Travis. He has enough stuff smile

I have had a couple of bouts of vertigo Gaga it is quite debilitating. I hope it passes quickly.

Wishing you all a good day

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 07-Feb-22 08:10:38

Good morning all from Harrogate of the lovely skies! It’s 1 degree and I can see ice!!
Yesterday I had an invitation from Dd1 to join them for a Sunday Roast, DD2 with Dgs was also invited- it was a good family get together. Dgs decided I should play with him, and help him to dress up in his cousin’s dressing up clothes!! Somehow being a mermaid did not suit him! We had a lovely afternoon and where ready for a sit down when we got home. DD1 does like to entertain and is a very good cook.
Today I must phone to phlebotomy department of the hospital to see if any is the staff picked up my hearing aid, otherwise it’s a costly trip to York.
Sorry you are so low these days grandMattie - you need some sunshine!
Your Hen Do sounds a lot of fun Marydoll, maybe your DH should just invite his golfing mate round to your house?
gingster I made up a game for my DDS when they were small. ‘Who’s the first to see? ‘ A red door, it could be a door on a house or car, or who’s the first to see a yellow flower?
Good luck
Have the best day possible folks!

Ashcombe Mon 07-Feb-22 08:07:56

grandMattie

On hearing the news of Australia now opening its borders reminded me of your daughter, Ash. How is she?

DD1 seems much better, thank you, grandMattie, but must continue with treatment for three months. She is back to working from home. Kind of you to remember. ?

Beauregard Mon 07-Feb-22 08:06:10

Good morning from a frosty Derbyshire. The wind has dropped and it isn't raining!

We managed a walk between downpours yesterday, then settled down for an afternoon of sport on tv and another match (football this time) that went the wrong way as far as DH was concerned! He was very quiet!

Our youngest grandson is coming today, after his lunch, and DS will collect him when he finishes work. I'm looking forward to finding out how his new job is going.

Hope Monday is a good day for all.

Urmstongran Mon 07-Feb-22 08:05:51

No Matt cartoon ~ it’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry, the sky is bright to the east and it does look chilly out but at least those winds have gone.

I’m off out for lunch, meeting a friend who lives in Chorlton. We will go to eat locally to her as Beech Road has loads of great eateries. We used to go there regularly when we had our house nearby. A trip down memory lane then.

Enjoy the hen party Marydoll you’ve come on leaps and bounds confidence wise. You have to BlueSapphire it’s great to hear how much you’re enjoying life these days. I love the sound of Snape Maltings Sar53! We do have some unusual place names in this country of ours!

grandMattie Mon 07-Feb-22 08:03:22

Gaga, I keep a stash of my “wonky” pills in the house, handbag etc., as I have sudden attacks of labyrinthitis which, mercifully, are controlled by these pills.
Ging, I don’t know how old your DGC is, but we used to play “last/first” using the last letter of the previous word; Alphabet animals/food/trees, etc., another is the addition of the prefix “un-“ or “dis-“ to words - happy/unhappy, pleased/displeased. Hope that helps.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Got a man coming early to repair our faulty couch. Then another day of sorting stuff out.

Hope you have a better day * Mattie* and sending kind thoughts to those who are struggling.

baubles Mon 07-Feb-22 07:54:36

Good morning Mick, morning all from cold and frosty South Lanarkshire.

thanks For you Mattie, I hope today is a little easier.

Safe trip Marydoll, such a shame about the bride’s mother.

Your day out sound terrific BlueSapphire.

I hope you feel better today Gagagran.

It seems to be the day for vertigo related posts. I have an appointment with a specialist physiotherapist this morning who will apparently try to induce vertigo by manipulating my head and then showing me how to change positions in order to stop it. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it.

Have the best day possible. ??

AGAA4 Mon 07-Feb-22 07:54:07

Good morning from a dry and brightening North Wales.
I have had a very quiet weekend after a difficult week and some upsetting news. I will get my boots on and stride (more like hobble) up those hills.
Have a good day everyone. Hope you all find some sunshine.?

Grandmajean Mon 07-Feb-22 07:53:47

Morning all.
Calm and cold here in Cheshire. Definitely beats yesterday's rain and wind.
DD and family got a new kitten yesterday and I went to admire and cuddle. He is a tiny 12 week old Havana Brown with the typically mouthy attitude of his breed.
Also visited youngest GD who had her 7th birthday yesterday. So many presents ! It was like Christmas day all over again.
Warm thoughts to those of you who are struggling and a lovely day to those with happy plans.

grandMattie Mon 07-Feb-22 07:53:22

On hearing the news of Australia now opening its borders reminded me of your daughter, Ash. How is she?

brook2704 Mon 07-Feb-22 07:53:22

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the snow is still here but it should melt today with the forecast warmer temperatures. There’s a beautiful pink sky that I can see from the bedroom window
I hope you have a lovely time away Sar - enjoy!
It’s good to hear about so many grans enjoying outings and events and having things to look forward to. Much better than previously. I’m going for a splash around at the Aqua class at the gym and then across the road for lunch with my friend. That should pass most of the afternoon as we always have a good chat
Have fun at the hen do marydoll what a shame though about the brides mum - she must be so disappointed
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Mon 07-Feb-22 07:50:07

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A cold, dry day after yesterday's wind and rain.
Supermarket and ironing today. We've been in our house for 11 months so all the utilities and insurance renewal emails are arriving. Energy up 50% but house insurance down a little.
Love to all ? x

multicolourswapshop Mon 07-Feb-22 07:46:34

Good morning all from what appears to be a calm very cold start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I’m awake fairly early my gp has scheduled a telephone call first thing regarding my recent scan of my gallbladder. Itl be to tell me I’ve gallstones but I already know that and I’m managing to control attacks now by watching my diet I know that fatty foods sets it off so I refrain from eating these juicy lamb chops which I love so much.

Anyway yesterday was a good day where I too watched the Winter Olympics I love it. Dare I say I enjoyed the rugby on Saturday . grin

Hugs everyone flowers it’s going to be a good day.smile

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Feb-22 07:45:32

Good morning all from a frosty S Hants. A sport day yesterday, love the FA cup, certainly a few upsets this weekend.
I must clean today, fridge, microwave, oven and hob, how exciting!
Enjoy your break Sar, not an area I know. A better day hopefully today gMattieand I hope your vertigo has pushed off Gaga.
Have the best day you can all ??

Grandmabatty Mon 07-Feb-22 07:42:06

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 1° with a pink sky. I've been awake for ages but have only just got up. Marydoll have a lovely time at the hen do. Such a shame about your dil's mum.
Yesterday was a quiet day. I had an unexpected nap in the afternoon which lasted an hour so no surprise I was awake early today.
Dd is going to nip in after playgroup so I will have to make some cakes for dgs1. She sent me a video of him making cakes yesterday and he was so proud. He wants to bring me one today. The baby has now got chicken pox! Hopefully it won't be too bad. So my plan is to make cakes this morning and then clear up after dgs1 has been. Leftover gammon for tea with red cabbage. Lentil soup for lunch. Have a good day all.

Beechnut Mon 07-Feb-22 07:36:37

Good morning everyone from Severnside. I can see some blue sky as I’m posting later than usual.

Yesterday Beechnutella and I messaged one another about what we would do on what would have been DH and her dad’s 70th. She has now booked us a glamping trip. We usually spend the day together (apart from 2020).

Today some housework and crafting and I expect my brother will be here later.

Have a good day all ?

Gingster Mon 07-Feb-22 07:33:45

Good morning all and although the winds have died down, it feels very chilly. ?

We had a peaceful day yesterday, reading and watching the Winter Olympics. The participants are all amazing and I’m so enjoying it.

School run today and I’ve got to think up a new game as little DGD and I walk the short journey. We’ve done I Spy to death, names beginning with A -Z, Farmyard and zoo animals, forest creatures, Adding and take aways, (no division or multiplication, NANNA) ?. Any ideas, grans? Perhaps the shopping game ?.

Sar - have a nice time in Southwold. It’s a lovely little town with a quaint pier. Snape Maltings is always good for coffee/lunch and a brouse around. Enjoy your break away!

BlueSapphire - your day in London sounds great. ?

GranMattie - I hope today is brighter for you. ?

Gagagran - take it easy. Vertigo is horrid!

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day. ???

Marydoll Mon 07-Feb-22 07:27:09

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is -1°C. DH is trying to get out of the golf, as its so miserable! His partner just wants out of the house, away from his nagging wife, his words, so is reluctant to cancel.

Mick, glad to hear that you have found Wurdle. Have you thought about contributing to the Wordle thread?
I have been challenging myself with the foreign language ones, the French one was the most difficult yesterday, I was tearing my hair out. I am so rusty now, as I don't use those languages at all. There is little call for them at the moment!

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad day GM, I hope today is a better one for you.
Gaga, I have had a few episodes of labyrinthitis recently, having vertigo is such a horrible feeling. I have suffered from attacks for years, luckily I now have a stash of medication for future attacks. Here's hoping you manage to get to speak with a GP.

Today, I'm off for a few days to the hen do, we have rented a house, with a swimming pool. I'm quite apprehensive, for lots of reasons.
Unfortunately, the bride's mum tested positive for Covid yesterday and not surprisingly, my future DIL is very upset. Mum has been working in Covid ICU during the pandemic and didn't contract it there, but from her husband at home! At least its not before the wedding.
I shall now take on the role of being the sensible adult! ?

DD is coming here to work this morning and she will drive us there in the afternoon. I offered her my car, so that SIL can still have access to a car. She refused, because mine doesn't have all the fancy gadgets. Changed days from when she lived here and I hardly ever saw my car! ?

Thinking of all in the sick bay, those who are struggling with life at the moment and those who look after and support them.
Have a pleasant day, everyone.
