Certainly enjoyed their wonderful breakfasts! We only ate outside on the terrace in the evening as usually had grandchildren with us and we always had glorious weather smile

My lovely husband was a very romantic and we always kept today and our wedding anniversary and also the anniversary of our first day together. I always miss him but today they had the wonderful duet from the Pearl Fishers , which had me in tears as it was a special piece for us. I still have many little bits of paper I keep where he used to put me valentines in the guardian, and the yorkshire post etc. Struggling with painful back etc but did manage to get to swimming thank goodness, as it does give me a bit of relief and helps me loosen up a bit. Met a friend at swimming and we went to have a little lunch at a garden centre not far away, Well spaced out places, chairs with arms which allow me to get up and down and good coffee. So have made the best that I can, now need to go and get the washing in, including the swimming towel before I forget it and leave it out overnight by mistake. Still a bit light which is cheering and just seen the grey squirrel run along the fence top and up into the trees. Need to get ahead a bit with some housekeeping and ironing as am out quite a bit this week and it is the meeting for the volunteers for the Swaledale Festival on wednesday. It is like a child in a sweety shop! You want to volunteer for 2 things on at the same time and look forward to all the lovely goodies of music and people being able to meet and share wonderful music again. fingers crossed that it all goes ahead

Morning everyone - also in Sunny South Hants.

Washing about to go on the line then I must get the car washed. I had all the gutters cleaned out, paintwork washed and windows cleaned last week so the car looks a bit grim.

Fingers crossed kitty for your DD.

Have a good day all.

Ha ha Maw it was definitely a roast! Lamb to be precise, never seen so much on one plate! Must proof read in future smile

Good morning from my soggy, wet mountains. After weeks of sunny winterwonderland, it is grey and pouring with rain. Let's hope is is snowing higher up for all the British and French kids spending half term skiing on the slopes.

MayBeMaw Mon 14-Feb-22 09:50:15

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is gloriously sunny again! (You need to move 10 miles south BlueSapphire ! )
Still, yesterday’s rain didn’t interfere with the pleasure of the Italy-England rugby did it?
It’s a friend’s birthday today so her DH has organised a surprise business gathering this afternoon which will be nice. He has stipulated no presents but I think a bunch of tulips might be acceptable. I am also going to be posting three of my more successful eBay sales which is encouraging. Getting the bit between my teeth now.
???for Kittylesters DD flowers
Now I had a good laugh at this-
Had a ginormous Sunday Toast in Bristol with MrJ’s DD yesterday - whatever did you have on it, Nannyjan - beans? Scrambled eggs? Or was it of the alcoholic variety? ??
One track mind, me, even on a Monday morning.
Hoping today is kind to you all.

Fingers crossed for your daughter Kittylister .We are at hospital this morning for my oh I'm hoping they let me go in because although he wears hearing aids he still misses words !! It rained all day here yesterday and has just started again .?

Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s raining in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 6°C.

No particular plans for today, hoping to get out for a walk later.

Hope you can find what you want Mick.

Good luck with the dentist visit*Grandmattie*, we both go to a private dentist as NHS dentists are like hen’s teeth round here.

Enjoy your trip to the seaside Gingster, hope your daughter’s cancer journey goes smoothly.

Beautiful flowers Grandmsdinosaur, hope the vertigo doesn’t reappear.

Hope your daughter fares well Chrissielou.

Thinking of soop and her DH, hoping her surgery went well for she is on the road to recovery.

Once again I’m writing this from my comfy warm bed, propped up on pillows. This is getting to be a habit grin. My mug of tea is now empty so I’d best get up, showered and dressed in time for brunch!

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Happy Valentine's Day from windy South Yorkshire. No rain yet but can feel it on its way. Lovely day yesterday...dgd1 got her 10 metre swimming badge which was a massive achievement after being very afraid of going swimming #proud gran. Then a very happy Sunday tea with lots of laughter.
Today walking group then picking grandchildren up from school and keeping them until 5pm so that will keep me occupied.
Wishing you all a good day especially those with poorly husbands and daughters x

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Lovely day yesterday with DS, DIL and GD for lunch, it was grey and pouring with rain so cheered us up to see them. Having got the turkey out of the freezer now have a bit of room to fill up. Off to shopping centre this morning to change unfortunate purchases at M& S, by SIL a birthday present and try and find some make up.
Best wishes to all

harrigran Mon 14-Feb-22 09:16:02

Good morning from a very wet NE, it has continued since Saturday night.
DD and SIL came yesterday evening and brought me a beautiful bouquet of roses and chocolates. They know that DH always took me out for lunch.
SIL brought his window cleaning machine but can't see the rain stopping any time soon.
Have the best day you can.

monk08 Mon 14-Feb-22 08:59:34

love0c your mention of the Osborne bought back memories of my first hotel stay aged 16 and their delightful desserts. Long time ago but can still taste them as though it was yesterday, as you can guess I have a sweet tooth ?

EkwaNimitee Mon 14-Feb-22 08:59:24

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very wet and dark Carlisle. It rained all yesterday too, I barely poked my head out of the door. It will be a day of laundry and housework and a bit of admin. I did think I'd do as much as possible today in hopes of being able to get outside later in the week but it seems we are forecast even worse weather to come. I feel cabin fever coming on!
Wishing you all a pleasant rain-free day....

Nannagarra Mon 14-Feb-22 08:53:34

Good morning from a wet Sefton coast.
Mick enjoy M &S. How nice to have vouchers to spend.
A good friend’s first grandchild has been expected since Friday - wouldn’t it be lovely if he were born on Valentine’s Day? She has been asked by her DiL to move in and help.
General pottering, gym classes and a visit to the nail bar will occupy me today.
Thinking of those with worries and troubles. May you all have the best Monday possible.
?????

Jaxjacky Mon 14-Feb-22 08:49:08

Good morning all from a sunny S Hants, very different from yesterdays rainy day.
Must ring the dentist for an appointment, we’ve discussed what needs doing, I just keep procrastinating.
You can lead a horse to water.. gMattie.
I’ve some bits to drop to the local charity shop and a walk to have later.
Hope those struggling have a better day. And a pleasant Monday for all ??

Anniebach Mon 14-Feb-22 08:45:45

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

love0c Mon 14-Feb-22 08:43:35

Morning everyone! Raining here in West Yorks again! Will manage a walk in the park hopefully with a large brolly smile. Some clearing out of my wardrobe this afternoon. Yes, happy memories in Torquay Ashcombe. I think a trip to the Osborne this summer would be nice. I did enjoy their outdoor pool overlooking beautiful Meadfoot and Thatchers.

Alygran Mon 14-Feb-22 08:38:51

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Rain rain go away…
Hoping to get out for a walk today. I have not left the house nor seen anyone all weekend!

AGAA4 Mon 14-Feb-22 08:35:24

Good morning from a very soggy North Wales.
It poured down all day yesterday and is still raining. Not much chance of a walk as all the trails will be flooded and muddy.
Wishing for some ☀️ for you and some for me too.

Nannytopsy Mon 14-Feb-22 08:27:01

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s cloudy again in Suffolk after some rain later on yesterday. I think we missed the worst of it.
It’s been a busy few days and I can’t see it improving any time soon. Step granddaughter is due anytime so we are on standby to look after the smaller grandchildren. I am still finishing the cot quilt!
The window cleaner is coming today so an earlier rise than normal.
Best wishes to everyone coping with husbands and daughters. I hope the day is kind to us all.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 14-Feb-22 08:15:16

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone from a dull dry Hull. I knew it was breezy outside while I was in bed as I could hear my wind chime tinkling it’s one of those tuned ones so it sings away pleasantly.
Mick I hope you fine something you like to spend your vouchers on. Love an M&S shop.
grandmattie you can only do so much to help your DH. My OH is going through a health worry as well but he will take all help he can and pay if necessary to get seen sooner. He’s going to be ringing the hospital as soon as he can this morning.
Today I’ll hopefully do a zoom yoga. Picking up our little GS this afternoon after school he cheers our day up. He’s 7 and has autism and is a delight. We always get excited with every new word he says.
Hoping today brings everyone with troubles reasons to smile. Speak soon

kittylester Mon 14-Feb-22 08:15:05

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

DD1 has found a lump in her breast and will ring the gp this morning. She has previously had a cyst (which was drained) so, hopefully, this will be the same thing.

And, we should be taking DGD4 birthday shopping today but she has been sick all night so that is off.

Excitingly, our Ninja is being delivered today.

Hoping for news of soop.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Grammaretto Mon 14-Feb-22 08:10:09

Good morning from the Scottish Borders,
Damp but not cold today.
Thanks for sharing your bouquet Grandmadinosaur
appreciated.
When we kept geese, the first egg was often laid on Feb 14th and then a month later we would have goslings. ???
Your happy family get together sounds fab Baubles I haven't seen all my DGC together since 2018 but perhaps this year.
I was at DS yesterday but minus the DGC who are off on a school skiing trip. One poor child tested +ve so was left behind. So sad for them.

I have a zoom U3A meeting later and a visitor arriving to stay for a fortnight so there's a room to prepare.

grandMattie you have been a tower of strength to your family throughout.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.
