Good morning all from the Suffolk Coast.
The sun is just rising over the sea and the sky has so many colours in it. I would love to try to paint it but it wouldn’t look real!

We arrived mid morning on Monday and my neighbour had put on our heating and left a pot of daffs on the kitchen table. What a dear! No damage here apart from a garden gate which needs another hinge. I’m not looking forward to storm Dudley or Eunice arriving as we are so open to the elements here. We are nice and cosy though! Much warmer here than at home. Small rooms and a woodburner does the trick!

I am going to see the film Belfast this afternoon. Dh isn’t one for the cinema, and my neighbour is still worried about Covid, so I’ll go on my own. No problem up here as it’s only 2 miles away , parking opposite and a quiet little theatre. It’s the oldest one in Suffolk. Over 100 yrs old.

We’ll walk little pooch along the beach and hope we beat the storm.

GrandMattie - another hard day for you. ? .

What a shame grans are leaving here. I have to say, I’ve never seen anything to get upset about. Best leave any controversy to other threads. It isn’t needed on here.

Hoping you all have a pleasant day without any upsets. ❤️

Good morning everyone from a wet and very windy Wiltshire, it’s going to be a blustery dog walk this morning.
I need to get the house up together before DS et al arrive tomorrow morning and sort out the sleeping arrangements.
Next week is going to be frantic and messy, I have a wood burner going in and the boiler being replaced by a combi, I am dreading the mess ?
The next few months are going to be messy I guess with all the bits I want done!
Never mind, it’ll be lovely by summer I hope ????
Wishing you all a peaceful day x

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the wind is getting up already.

Thinking of you today gMattie.

Another day at the coal face today-aka the charity shop. Can I just say that managing volunteers is not without its challenges, I was ever so slightly frazzled yesterday.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

GrannySomerset Wed 16-Feb-22 08:07:55

Need to prepare for family arriving tomorrow but most plans for Friday are in place. Awful weather forecast won’t make that day any easier, but today is currently dry though quite windy.

Thinking of Grandmattie today and hoping the day goes without upset. My sympathy, Gwen, you must be fed up with being messed about by the hospital. Hope the new handbag helps. Hope Marydoll starts to feel a little better too.

EkwaNimitee Wed 16-Feb-22 08:15:07

Good morning Mick and everyone from a grey and very windy Carlisle where worst is forecast.
Just a quick pop in for now, the landscaper rang yesterday as he had an unexpected slot so could he come to do my job today? Well, yes! So he's due any time now. And good luck to the guys in this weather. Sadly, no biscuits will be on offer with the tea/coffee, too short notice to buy any. Not a commodity I keep in the house.
Have the best possible day everyone.

Lins1066 Wed 16-Feb-22 08:25:46

Good morning from our corner of the S Welsh coast. It is dry and blustery though it was a wet night.
We took the dog for a walk yesterday afternoon during a lull in the showers, it was windy and the tide was in.
I too am still in bed with a mug of tea having had another poor night with little sleep.
Take care everyone.

Jaxjacky Wed 16-Feb-22 08:32:17

Good morning from S Hants, 11deg, clear, for now and still.
Thoughts with you gMattie so hard.
Your home from home sounds wonderful Gingster, I’m a weeny bit envious.
I’ve no great plans today, I lost something yesterday that gave me solace and am still missing it.
Enjoy your day those who can. For those struggling, may your day improve ??.

Good morning all from bright N Bucks.
I’m glad to have a day at home as the last 2 days left me a little discombobulated. On Monday a red warning light came on on the car dashboard plus a high pitched squeak so I hied me round to our lovely garage in the village when a faulty pressure switch on the cooling system was diagnosed (which I hope will be fixed today). I had been due to go to crémant and cakes for a friends birthday in the next village but no car! I rang to offer my apologies and they very kindly offered to pick me up and drop me back as buses are virtually non-existent.
Yesterday my sister in law came up from London for lunch and to go to the Laura Knight exhibition at MK gallery with me. Filthy wet day but we managed with mini cabs etc except for coming home when I tried to get a bus but there was a 30 minute wait, then Uber declined my debit card, which put the wind up me and eventually I got another mini-cab and had enough cash on me to pay for it. Everything just took so much longer especially in the rain.
Card sorted out via telephone banking, car dropped round to garage for (fingers crossed) fixing and I have a quiet day ahead - Opera Plus this morning on Zoom, an illustrated lecture on Purnell’s “Dido and Aeneas” - Kleenex at the ready for Dido’s lament, but the music is heavenly.
I hope today will be kind to you all.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Urmstongran Wed 16-Feb-22 08:46:32

Maw one of our daughter’s had a glitch with her debit card last week and she said it made her feel very flustered with a ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ flutter.

harrigran Wed 16-Feb-22 08:51:23

Good morning from the NE where we have gale force wind.
DS came yesterday and we managed a walk, bitterly cold but it blew the cobwebs away.
Bed linen washing today, it is ironing the duvet covers I am not keen on.
Stay safe from Dudley.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 16-Feb-22 08:51:27

Morning Muck and all

Calm before the storm here in S E Essex, I gave an early appointment so will come back and read your news later.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

luluaugust Wed 16-Feb-22 08:58:39

Good morning all from a sunny, windy W Kent. Cat sitting today as DD2 moving house. Discovered the cat not too keen on Ella Fitzgerald so a day of silence here, she is now settled in her basket and nodding off.
Best wishes to all.

Alygran Wed 16-Feb-22 09:02:06

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very blowy!
The new bit of fence is going up as I type. It’s been a tricky week for out door work but it will be finished by lunch time.
I had a lovely meet up with a friend yesterday and rejoined RHS so I could walk through the gardens at Harlow Carr. So many varieties of snowdrops. The gardens are lovely and it was good to see so much ongoing work.
GrandMattieflowers
Maw hope the car is sorted quickly and cheaply.
Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Wed 16-Feb-22 09:20:05

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Bright and breezy here today and quite mild. We are just outside the edge of the storm but Eunice will affect us we think.
Wednesday morning coffee meetup in town and a haircut this afternoon. I'll bring a few bits in so we don't have to venture out if the weather does get bad.
Love to all ?x

Chris3 Wed 16-Feb-22 09:27:57

Good morning all from a sunny but very windy South Yorkshire. A quiet day today I hope. Himself had gone to the opticians. Looking after grandchildren for a while after school.
Thinking of you grandmattie ?
Have a good day all x

Georgesgran Wed 16-Feb-22 09:33:20

Good morning from Durham where Dudley is already in full swing! Having had 6 ridge tiles replaced last week after Malik, I’m hoping there’s no more damage today.
At home for a friend calling this morning, then giving 2 small bedrooms a thorough Spring clean later.
?GM - a difficult day.

Mapleleaf Wed 16-Feb-22 09:53:37

Good morning from South Yorkshire.

Storm Dudley arrived here earlier than forecast - the wind has been gusting and howling since 4am this morning. At least it’s dry for now, though looking at the sky now, that might change.

GM ? - a difficult day for you.

I don’t plan to be out and about in this strong wind, so will crack on instead with some indoor chores and then settle down with my book, I think.

I hope no one suffers any damage to their property with these strong gusts of wind.

Take care, everyone.

Maria59 Wed 16-Feb-22 10:06:10

I am beyond excited today as after 11 weeks I am allowed to visit DGS in hospital. He is getting stronger day by day and we hope he will be home soon. Meanwhile I will be dispensing lots of hugs and kisses today

Maria59 Wed 16-Feb-22 10:07:01

If only

Jane71 Wed 16-Feb-22 10:11:41

Hello from the north west where it's quite windy, and expected to become even more windy. Indoor painting for me today in the spare bedroom. We're expecting visitors and it's looking shabby.
Very funny post Maria

brook2704 Wed 16-Feb-22 10:19:27

That’s such brilliant news Maria I’m so pleased for you and to hear that your DGS is recovering well - enjoy all those hugs and kisses!

Litterpicker Wed 16-Feb-22 10:23:00

Good morning from a sunny south coast/West Sussex.

We are heading to Scotland in our camper van after lunch (DH has a meeting this morning). Not looking forward to encountering storm Dudley. We are stopping near York overnight - in a Travelodge as it’s too cold for camping in February and the van is packed full of stuff to take to our new flat which we purchased to be near our daughter and family when we’re up there.

Another sad day for you Grandmattie but it must be a relief to have finally got to that stage.
GrannySomerset I will be thinking of you and your family on Friday and hope all goes as planned.

Maria59 - great news that you can visit your DGS.

Lins I hope you can find a solution for your sleeping problems.

I’d better get on with packing and tidying up or DH will be back and nothing will be ready.

Blossoming Wed 16-Feb-22 10:34:55

Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s dry in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 11°C.

The forecast isn’t good for today, it’s Mr. B’s birthday today and we’re hoping to get out for a walk later.

A difficult day for you grandMattie flowers.

I must go and give Mr. B his presents, thanks to those who sent birthday wishes. I’ll read the thread properly later.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?
