Do you use recycled toilet paper?

Yes, always, wherever I buy from. This week’s grocery shop is coming from Ocado, so I’m trying their Feel Good brand. It’s not a bad price, on offer at £3.50 for 9 rolls, made in Wales and with all the ecological credentials a woman could wish for.

Here in Germany about half the loopaper on the shelves is recycled. I usually buy it. The only thing I don't like about it is the greyish colour. Never really thought about it otherwise.

Another vote for Who Gives A Crap here - especially about the use of profits to build loos.

Last time I looked it was very expensive and I hadn’t noticed any on sale in usual supermarkets. Will look again.

I don't recall seeing any in my local shops but I'll look out for it - as long as it's not shiny like Izal.....?

Does it tend to be cruelty free too? I buy the leaping bunny as much as possible.

Always buy recycled toilet paper, I think it has improved in recent years and now has pressed patterns on each sheet, just like unrecycled makes. (Nothing like “Bronco” in my childhood, sorry mustn’t derail thread)! I also buy recycled kitchen roll. Usually purchase when on offer in supermarket. My daughter has Who Gives a Crap paper delivered regularly and I haven’t noticed a problem when I visit and use the facilities!

I have tried it and we disliked it. We have also trued the bamboo stuff and found that unsatisfactory.

And, I do struggle to get my head round the term 'recycled toilet paper'. I know it isn't what it says on the tin but.........

I did have my tv repaired though. (Because it was cheaper than a new one!)

I buy whatever is the best value, which inevitably isn't usually the more eco friendly stuff.
I've never checked my toilet roll, though.
I must have a look tomorrow.

Yes we try to buy it when available, but often it's not in stock. We really need to try harder as a society in terms of mending and recycling. It doesn't seem long ago that people could mend TV's. Nowadays they just seem to replace them.

Most of the components in TVs are electronic, so unless you really know what you're doing, you can't mend them... most people wouldn't even know where to start.

And if they're under warranty and you start messing around with them, your warranty will be invalid. They have built-in obsolescence.

When my DD was about 9, she came home from school looking very snotty - she had a cold. She had forgotten to take any tissues with her. I asked her why she did not go and get some toilet paper from the loos - she was utterly horrified - "I can't do that! - people have wiped their bums on it." She really thought it was used toilet paper that had been recycled - we still tease her about it.

We use a sponge on a stick, one per member of the family rinse as you flush and wash after each use. We have toilet paper for guests.

I did buy Who Gives a Crap at the start of lockdown. I just got the 'bog standard' kind, 48 rolls. Never again. It was awful and the slightest drop of moisture made it disintegrate.

It was newspaper cut up into squares with a bit of string tied through the corner to hang it up by, when I was a kid.
Very often the print would be left behind. LOL

I have also found the recycled rolls very harsh.

I buy Who Gives a Crap loo paper which is made of bamboo. I buy 48 rolls at a time. Half of their profit goes to fund building loos in Third World countries.

Via a neighbourhood scheme, I can buy 36 rolls recycled tp for £21.
Not rough and tears easily and cleanly off the roll with no shredding.
I’ll buy again.

Yes I try to buy as many recycled house hold products as possible. I actually think it is rougher but cheaper than a lot of market leaders but I don't mind.
