Just been looking at a video clip from a friend living in a highish block of flats in Portsmouth. It showed the waves breaking on the front at Southsea, which are clearly breaking well over the promenade and you can sea that her block of flats is also responding to the wind. The rail of the balcony is clearly moving up and down!
In south Oxfordshire, the wind is winding up, twigs and small branches, up to foot or two long are been blown off trees, around us and, with leaves are hitting our wndows. The cooker hood outside ventilator is rattling, which I have never heard before and there is now nobody walking up and dowwn the footpath or road, outside our house, not many vehicules either.
Just making sure my telephone and Kindle are fully charged and that the gaslighter I use to light the gas hob burners is primed and ready for action when the inevitable power cut comes. When ever there are powere cuts in this area, we are usually one of the first areas out. The wood burner is also primed and ready to be lit, if the electricity goes.
