Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp and looks chilly out. Calm though. My stepfather is coming for his dinner and as it’s the last one for a month, I’m doing his favourite of roast pork plus every thing - he loves the crackling, stuffing and roasties because he tells me he doesn’t make those at home. Drinks downstairs in the Loungers Bar first. He loves people watching and said he likes the split afternoon - best of both. I come up in the lift half an hour earlier to pop the roasties in the oven! Works well. He’s a dear man and a pleasure to spend time with.

Aw grandMattie the pleasures of giving presents eh? I’d much rather give than receive (although that’s not shabby either ha!). I love treating people I care about it brings me genuine pleasure.

Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a damp and very blustery Hull. We had some stunning snow showers yesterday with some huge flakes and it laid. Lovely to watch from a cosy lounge with a glass of wine in hand but that’s it.
Nothing much today with isolating for DH procedure on Tuesday so a lot of TV will be watched.
grandMattie our DGS doesn’t like being hugged but he has autism and when we hold our arms out he backs into them for his snuggle. His way of showing affection to Grandad is to wrestle with him. So sweet.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone with family visits and Sunday lunches. Take care.

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.

Up and out early today as I am being employed as receptionist at the Wedding Fair being put on by Dd3.

I had a couple of confused messages from my friend who is still in hospital last night but heard nothing from her family. I will ring when I get home from 'work' - if I can still string a sentence together by then. grin

Good morning, one and all, from a still very windy Torbay. After a few calm hours yesterday morning, the stormy weather returned so I abandoned my plan to walk on the Downs.

Some branches are down on the path in the park opposite which people (mainly dog walkers) avoided easily on Friday. Yesterday the Council placed barriers and No Access signs around the biggest one. Unfortunately, the dogs, often not on leads, can’t read so they follow the path (as do their owners) as usual. Hey ho!!

How lovely to have another visit from DGS, grandMattie and I hope he’s no worse for the soaking! His eventual delight with the laptop must have been a joy for you to see. Enjoy lunch - no doubt the little girl will love the bag you’ve made for her.

I hope you’ll be OK, Beechnut, as you said yesterday you’d run out of your pills. I do hope your power is back by now, Gingster and others in similar circumstances. What a shock for your DD, dragonfly46!

What happy news for you, Maria59! It must be wonderful for your DGS2 to be home at last! I was saddened by Henetha’s news on Friday. Thoughts with her and others with worries.

Fence building companies will be kept busy after the storm, if folks’ experience on here is an indicator of how householders have fared.

Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! ??✝️??

Good Morning everyone from a windy and wet south coast. 9.8c at 6am. It is forecast to be windy for the next 48 hours but nothing like Eunice.

We had a pot with a shrub in it blown over and lots of bits of debris in the garden. A neighbour had a tile off his roof and we saw a massive tree uprooted in the middle of our local town when we went for the click and collect. Amazing what wind can do.

Another quiet day indoors planned but we'll see what happens. Things have a way of turning up.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can. sunshine

Oh, I forgot. I bought DGS a laptop to replace his which is too old now. He was very lukewarm, not liking the layout, etc. Then he suddenly discovered he could dictate to it (he’s dyslexic like Philip), that it could be connected to his phone, etc. He became very animated and delighted! Nice. ❤️

Good morning from a dark, mist E Kent. The weather decided to have another go yesterday. The afternoon was horrible, wet and very windy.
Poor DGS’s trains got cancelled/rescheduled and he ended up sodden. He had a change of clothes with him, so I tumbled everything dry. He told us he was staying until Monday. An unexpected pleasure. He loathes being hugged, but I have trained him. ? He has even started to put his arms round me! His mum is never allowed to hug him!
Early church for me alone. DH finds the mornings worse, and finds sitting on a hard pew problematic so he watches DD a bit later.
Lunch with Philip’s best friend, wife and daughter; be a nice change, though we hardly know the couple. Looking forward to being with the little 4yo girl.
May today bring sunshine ☀️ into your hearts. Carpe diem. ??????

Good morning Mick, morning all from wet and windy South Lanarkshire.

My friend and I are doing the teas after Mass this morning, the first since before Christmas. We agreed with the priest that we’d do the third Sunday of the month rather than every week as we couldn’t commit to that and so far there are no more volunteers.

My plan afterwards is to have a day of catching up with things around the house. DH has kept us fed and watered this week while I’ve been working, he has dealt with the washing too so I just need to do a bit of cleaning.

I hope the day goes well for everyone.

Good Morning Mick and all who follow from a dark and damp Severnside.

I was unable to pick up my prescription yesterday as there was no pharmacist. I’ll try again tomorrow or Tuesday.

I might have a go at fixing the front garden panel that is learning today. I’ve got some letters to write and some crafting to do.

Have a good day and enjoy your roasts ??

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry and cold outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , partly never went to plan as the driver of the bus to Buckingham choose to wait until Bicester bus had arrived before he came across.
Anyway , it was a busy Saturday in Bicester , no doubt people making up for loss of shopping because of the storm.
Today, a quiet day in with TV etc.
Take Care ,
Mick
