Good Morning everyone from a chilly -1c south coast. The sun is out now and it will soon warm up but not expecting it to rise above 10c according to the forecast.

I am late to the thread this morning after a disturbed night with an unpleasant dream which I could not escape from. I have decided that eating cheese late in the day caused it!

DH is out with his bike club today so I have an empty and need to sort out some problems with the surgery about my online repeat prescription system which doesn't seem to be working after years of being fine.

The car service and MOT went like a dream yesterday despite my misgivings about not getting it back! A very nice man came and parked his own car here and drove ours to the garage. When they had done their stuff, a lady rang to say so and we paid by card and the same nice man brought the car back and went back in his own. All very easy and efficient.

Thinking of Iris undergoing yet more surgery today. Your journey to Bristol sounds eventful Mattie but you made it, thank goodness. Glad no egg shells so far! Worries about the house sale seem par for the course with some solicitors moving at snail pace.

Enjoyed your usual amusing tale of your "doings" Marydoll - you always make me smile! I have a mental vision now of a very tall and fancy wedding hat which I am sure you can carry off with aplomb! Can we see it? (please)

Good morning from Durham. At least it’s dry, but still wild and windy. Taking a friend out for lunch today - she’s had a slight stroke and her driving licence has been suspended for 3 months and she’s bored rigid. DD1 got a new job yesterday - far less salary, which was the trade off not to work weekends, so she can have time with DGS1, so she’s not too bothered.
Fingers crossed for Iris today.

Good morning all from our corner of the S Welsh coast, it is 7 degrees, dry and sunny..
It is Half Term here, our DS and family visiting later, more Hide and Seek with the five year old and cuddles with our baby gd.
Our DD went on a sightseeing tour of Los Angeles yesterday, it is very windy there too but fine and clear so lovely photos.

I have quite a busy day today. I have to have more blood tests this morning, then I get home the electrician is coming, then this afternoon I have the hairdresser.
While I am at the hairdresser, DH has to take the dog to the vet, personally I think the dog has lost the will to live. She is quite old but enjoys her snuggles.
I don’t know how the businesses by the river Ouse survive, they are generally flooded once a year anyway. Hope your trip goes ahead, even if it’s another hotel in York, Mick. I like your description, to, Beechnut of lockdown lard- maybe that’s what happened to me? I thought my clothes all shrank with not being worn over lockdown!

Had a lovely coffee meet with a friend yesterday, we were in cafe for 2 hours!

Taking 3 DGD’s to the Panto in town today, DD & DS are coming too! It’s amateur production for the local Hospice. Then a meal out afterwards,
Girls are 10,12 and 13, 17 year old didn’t want to come.

Goodmorning all from very wild Glasgow, the wind is howling here.

DH had offered drive me to Lidl this morning, but the electrician phoned unexpectedly yesterday, to ask if he could come first thing to install new updated smoke alarms. They are in short supply here, so I jumped at the chance.
It will be very quick Lidl visit, I can't manage a big shop on my own any more and I forgot today is Wednesday and I have a hairdresser's appointment, in preparation for the wedding next week. I was sure the wedding was two weeks away! I am becoming so forgetful.

The plan is to wear the outfit I purchased for DD's wedding, but never had the chance to wear. After the wedding was postponed, due to the pandemic, I couldn't bear to look at it. However, DD bless her, suggested I wear it. She is so unselfish. She handed over the unused deposits from her own wedding to her brother, to offset some of the costs of his.

Yesterday, I asked DH to get the hat down from the loft. The box was enormous, so we put it up there out of the way.
The strangest thing has occurred. DH brought down two boxes, instead of one. ?.
On opening them, I discovered two hats, identical in colour. I am totally flummoxed. I know, I only bought one. Both still had labels on them, never worn.
One was definitely a mother of the groom hat and the other, more of a wedding guest one. I have no recollection of buying the second one!
I tried on the MOG hat and was shocked to see that I had gained at least a foot in height!!! ? It is huge and rather elaborate. Oh well, I will certainly stand out in the crowd! Too late to change now. ?

I hope GM has a safe journey and all goes well for Iris.
Sending my best wishes to Grannmarie and her husband, after a worrying day yesterday.
Hoping to hear better news from Scentia regarding her husband and that Mr GM is feeling a bit better.

Thinking of all those, who need our support and prayers. I'm always afraid of missing someone out.
I need to get up in case the electrician appears. It turns out he was an ex pupil of my scary sister in law, its such a small world here!

Although I had booked and paid for my train tickets on Sunday, not having a smartphone, I was unable to get physical tickets as the office and machine were not open/working. I expected a conductor on the train, but no, I had to queue for 15 minutes at St. Pancras to get one. A few minutes to buy lunch, a very long walk to get the tube to Paddington. There, I had about 8 minutes to get the train. Inevitably, it was at the opposite side of the station. I walked to the end of the train for my prebooked seat, only to find there was no trace of the reservation. I sat in the seat anyway. As the train drew out, the pre was an announcement that the train was “half size” and that reservations were not to be used! Yea, thanks!
Smooth journey to the last stop. Then I had to change trains for Templemeads. Naturally, it was late, was on a different platform…?
Got to DD’s as they drew up from their morning out. DGD1 ran to greet and hug me. Lovely,
I called DHIn the early evening, only to find out that another drama was unfolding re. Philip’s house sale. This time, the solicitor was unable to find out the redemption value before sale (due Friday!) went through. Apparently, there were arrears. How could that be, since the bank has been advised in _ person_, cara a cara, less than a week after he’d died! We’d also taken all the other necessary paperwork as it came through! The incompetence beggars belief. DH, normally a mild person (and was the manager of that very bank and branch before retirement), gave them a right royal rollicking and is now crossing everything that a balance is emailed this morning,
Will al this ever end? It’s not as though it was an unusual event - people die all the time, mortgages need repayment for most house sales, etc. How come then do they make such a mess of things?

Good morning everyone well at last its a beautiful morning, i can see the sun rising just over the fields and its filled me with good vibes.

Today i am having my 2 youngest GC, i am taking them to a play village, so that will be excited for them. My oldest GD is here all week but she is having a day with Mr S while i am at the play village.

Yesterday i made my first ever chicken pie using the ready-made pastry, me being me will make pie after pie after pie until i am sick to the back teeth of pie's and then i will be on to something else haha.

Good morning all and it’s calm and dry here in Essex.

We did an hour in the garden yesterday. It’s a tiny garden but we managed to fill nearly two wheelie bins with leaves, cuttings, brambles, and grass .

Today , we have little gd for the morning. She’s been very poorly with a sickness bug since last Friday, so no school for her. Her mum has an appointment. The little one is so tiny anyway, so we must try to build her up. She has no interest in food at the best of times. ?.

Thoughts go to Iris today. ?. Hope all goes well .

Eldest GD is home from Uni until next Sunday, so we’re looking forward to seeing her sometime soon.

Good morning all from Polmont. 6° and wet and windy here. It's forecast to get worse. I had a very bad night and was awake a lot. Partially the fish supper I had for tea and partially worrying about a family member. Today I will try to visit mum although she has cancelled the last twice. I have art class too and a bit of birthday cake to deliver. Then home. Have a good day all.

The family is just off to drop Iris off. The operation is scheduled for 830. She is in remarkable spirits. She is very touched and rather bemused that my “flamingo friends” have all been wishing her well. Thank you all.
No eggshells - yet!
Spending the day with DGD1 (who is very amused by her moniker) shopping, lunching out, etc.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It looks like a decent day outside - dry and a bright sky.

Mick I hope your trip goes ahead I saw a report on our local news yesterday from York where indeed the waters were receding and not as bad as feared.

We are heading out that way ourselves today taking GS to an air museum on the way to York. Really looking forward to it as I miss the days out we had before he started school.

I have another session on the Carer Learning course today. Last week's was interesting with a few of the attendees having very unusual back stories.

We all enjoyed the escape room yesterday and, as you can tell, we did escape. The children enjoyed it and have asked to do another one. I need to recover!!

It’s Hello from me in Hertfordshire today, where it’s not raining! The drive down yesterday from home was not pleasant at all, double speed wipers and poor visibility much of the way. Thankfully no holdups and I was very relieved to arrive at DDs and have a cup of tea. The puppy arrived home shortly after and had to be put in the bath as he had enjoyed the mud and puddles so much! Fingers crossed for your trip to York mick lots of flood warnings on the radio just now. Wishing everyone the best day possible with some brightness.

Thanks for all the anniversary greetings yesterday. It was such a horrible day that we decided against going out and just had a cosy day at home.

Work today and I have a volunteer trial booked for this afternoon, I hope she decides she’d like to give it a go as we really need to increase our volunteer hours.

A busy afternoon for me, in charge of Wednesday Club again although I have help with a member who's running a quiz. He does this regularly and slips in questions used before. Mostly, we don’t notice - couldn’t answer them the first time round and can’t remember the answers anyway!

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset seems calm and dry this morning

Decent day yesterday, for once I didn’t run from the hairdresser and wash my hair! Enjoyed trundling round a supermarket then a couple of hours with our grounded friend in the afternoon. She’s good company if very bored with her immobilisation.

Today there is a family lunch in a comfortable pub to celebrate two birthdays before cake and chaos at our Littlest’s home. I know I shall enjoy every second

Thoughts with Iris and all poorly people. Hope something can be sorted for your weekend mick, I’m sure your coach operator will take no risks.

Good Morning from a dark and dry Severnside. Your York trip could turn out to be a cruise Mick.

I went to a funeral yesterday of someone I got to know when I first started work. I saw my godson, I haven’t seen him in a while and as nice as it was I wish it could have been in happier circumstances.

Today we should have some sun so I’m going out into the garden to do some trimming up ready for the new fence panels. I measured up and am going to get the same as my neighbours.

My new skirt arrived yesterday and it does fit but I think it would look better if I lost a few pounds. I got it half price so as I like it I won’t send it back and do my best to carry on losing some of my lockdown lard.
