Good morning from Derbyshire where we've had some overnight rain but it's now clear and looks like being a bright day.

A planned visit by DS and our little grandson didn't happen yesterday due to DS feeling unwell. The last time we saw DGS he slept throughout the visit, so we're not doing very well trying to see him at the moment!

Today, an early shop, then preparation for our older two DGS's coming for a sleepover later. It doesn't happen very often these days for various reasons but it's a joy when it does and we're so looking forward to spending a while day with them. I need to add chocolate pillows(?) and crumpets to my shopping list as a breakfast treat for tomorrow!

It's nice to hear some good news on here today. Thoughts and best wishes to all. Hope Friday is a good day.

Good morning from a corner of the S Welsh coast, it is 5 degrees with a clear sky. It was dry here yesterday but the wind was keen.
Our DD is now in Colorado and staying with an old school friend who lives about an hour from Denver. The photos of the Rockies are amazing, there is plenty of snow and beautifully clear skies. He asked her to bring some Marmite and some of those concentrated Robinsons Squash'd!
Book Club this morning it will be interesting to hear the rest of the group's views of Lincoln in the Bardo.
A Happy Birthday to Mr Corner.
All the best to your DD this morning Gingster hope all goes well for her.

Take care everyone.

Good morning from Durham - still windy. Yesterday Octopus informed they were going to increase my dd to £250, so I decided to be more ‘frugal’.
Felt unwell last night, so went to bed early and have now discovered I’ve left the tv and lounge lights on all night and a casserole cooking (burnt) at 180 for 10 hours!! Not a good start?
Pleased gM has better news today. Awful scenes from Ukraine this morning.

Jaxjacky Fri 25-Feb-22 07:30:07

Good morning, ice on cars here in S Hants, +3.
Have a lovely weekend Mick.
Three reassurances gMattie I’m not surprised you slept well, good.
Thank you Ash ?
Happy Birthday Mrcorner ?
I went out with my daughter and grandchildren yesterday to Portchester Castle, we got caught in a hefty sleet shower and it was very cold, warmed up over lunch.
Tesco delivery today and a trip to our local charity shop, taking stuff, not buying.
Have a good day all ??

Good morning all from a frosty Polmont. 2° and blue skies above. I'm happy for you Grandmattie. Husband and granddaughter on the mend. Mick have a lovely time in York. I haven't been there for a number of years but it's one of my favourite places to visit. Ashcombe thank you for the prayer. My heart is with the people of Ukraine. I'm not convinced Putin is going to get it his own way. There were unprecedented protests in Russia yesterday.
Yesterday I had afternoon tea for lunch with dd. We had a good chat too. Both the chat and the meal were lovely. Normally there's a baby and a toddler in the mix!
Today said toddler and baby will be at my house after playgroup. They are staying for lunch so I'll have to stir my stumps and nip to Aldi for food. I'll have to scrape the car first. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve still got snow and it’s feeling very cold. Have a great trip to York Mick - enjoy!
Today I’m off to the gym and then after the class I’ll pop across the road with my friend for a coffee and a catch up. I’m then doing the school pick up and DGD is coming here for a sleepover tonight.
Our utility room makeover is now finished and looking very clean and bright, DH has some filling in and decorating to do so hopefully he’ll make a start on that tomorrow.
Thank you for your good news GM it’s much needed today
Hoping all goes well for your DD today Gingster
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Morning Mick and all

Sar53 our weather was definitely interesting here yesterday. My car was biked in for a service at 8.30am, my plan was to walk to the big Sainsbury’s near Gingster but the heavens opened, I cheekily asked if they had a shuttle service to Sainsbury’s, the receptionist said she would see what she could do. The result was a lift in the new Audi Q4 etron, I now have my mind set on a new car…

Off to IKEA this morning with DD and The Imp for bits and bibs for her new home, no doubt I will find stuff that I didn’t know I needed.

Thoughts are with the poor folks in Ukraine

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Gingster Fri 25-Feb-22 07:01:11

Good morning all. What a day for weather yesterday - sun, rain, sleet , snow and hail stones. Supposed to be sunny today. ??.

Dd has to be at the hospital by 8 this morning. Dh will take her and drop her off. She’s having a heart scan and a CAT scan, in readiness for her immunotherapy treatment will should start soon. I’ll take little gd to school and bring her back here to stay the night. She can’t be near her mum for at least 8 hours after the scan. Something to do with the injected dye. ?.

Didn’t sleep well after watching too much news! Poor Ukraine! ?. Thanks for the prayer Ash

Enjoy your trip Mick.

Wishing you all well! ???

Good morning from a bright Essex by the sea. We had it all yesterday, sun, rain and even a brief snow shower.
Food shopping first thing then a trip to find a couple of single duvets and a new pillow.
My thoughts are also with the people of Ukraine, can anyone stop the madman in Russia.
Have the best Friday you can everyone xx

ShazzaKanazza Fri 25-Feb-22 06:58:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dry Hull. We have a lovely day of sun today. I was awake from 3am to 5am and even my weighted blanket couldn’t help me get back to sleep.
grandMattie your pieces of news are all very positive and so pleased you arrived home safely. That prayer Ashcombe is definately needed for those poor Ukrainians it’s always the innocent people and children war affects more. My heavy heart goes out to them.
I’m up early as I’m going over to my DSs house to be with my GS so DS can get off to work and will bring him over to us for the day. Going to pop him over to see Mum and I think take him swimming this afternoon. DS and his partner split up so GS stayed with his dad. It’s been a trying time but that’s life.
Mick safe journey to York and enjoy Harrogate and hope all your plans work out.
Take care everyone.

Good morning all from the Black country.
Good news grandMattie have a great weekend Mick and safe travels.
We are meeting with DS and the boys today haven't seen them for 3 weeks due to covid, will go to park near where DiL works and she can join us lunchtime.
Happy birthday MrCorner? and anybody else celebrating,
Virtual hugs where needed and may you all find some ?.

Gagagran Fri 25-Feb-22 06:52:56

Good Morning everyone from a clear sky and dry south coast. 2.9c but set to rise to 10.0c with sunshine. We had one snow flurry at about 1pm yesterday with a cold northerly wind.

I was able to get to the dentist yesterday despite my vertigo playing up, and luckily it was a piece of porcelain crown which was broken and not the tooth. Lovely Harry, the dentist, was able to put a filling on the broken bit and it feels as good as new. DH drove me there and managed to park outside so I didn't have to stagger far and Harry managed without reclining me too far.

Glad to read your three good news items GM and hopefully by the end of the day the house sale will have completed, your DH's innards will have settled down and Iris is allowed home. flowers for you to help your fatigue!

A quiet day is on the agenda today with only the click and collect list to finalise for tomorrow.

Wishing for better news from Ukraine and hoping that there are enough good people with some power in Russia to stop Putin in his madness. We can only pray for the scared and beleaguered Ukrainians.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can. sunshine

Beechnut Fri 25-Feb-22 06:42:52

Wishing a happy birthday to Mrcorner ??

Beechnut Fri 25-Feb-22 06:41:39

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Dry and getting light.

Good news indeed Mattie and I expect the purchaser’s will be very pleased to be able to finally move into their new home.

The weekly shop for me and I have some ironing to do if I remember. Of course I may continue to walk by it as I have been for a while.

Have a good weekend Mick and have a good day all ???

cornergran Fri 25-Feb-22 06:33:51

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a cold, dry start to our corner of Somerset.

Good news indeed grandMattie. Hope the trip goes well mick. York is on our ‘one day’ list.

Mr C’s birthday today. He’s requested breakfast in his favourite spot and a trip to Wells. We can do this smile.

Thinking of all with worries at this time. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

grandMattie Fri 25-Feb-22 06:31:07

The poor Ukrainians. My prayers are added to everyone else’s. What a difficult situation for the politicians. X

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Feb-22 06:23:24

Thank you for the prayer Ashcombe ?

Ashcombe Fri 25-Feb-22 06:13:12

Good morning , Mick, and safe travels to York! It’s calm and dry here in Torbay but chilly.

Like many others, I’m very worried about the situation in Ukraine so I’m sharing this prayer I saw on Facebook.

My DS and DGS3 are visiting later this morning so I’m glad we have a drier day in prospect after yesterday’s squally showers, including hail at times.

Take care, everyone. ?????

dustyangel Fri 25-Feb-22 06:11:23

Good morning Michael, I’m awake and posting at this unearthly time for a change, so at least I can tell you how much I appreciate your thread. I like the sound of your forthcoming trip, York is a fascinating city,I hope your plans work out, Take Care.

grandMattie Fri 25-Feb-22 06:08:15

Good morning from a dark EKent. We are promised a day of sunshine ☀️
I hope you have a lovely time in York, Mick. Look up the place with 100 or is it 1000 beers. Lovely food too there.
Three bits of good news: -
1. Although still miserable from the anaesthetic, Iris is doing well and should be home in the next few days.
2. DH isn’t going to die soon as he feared. His gut pain is a result of abdominal radiotherapy he had for prostate cancer. More tests and better analgesia ATM.
3. After apparently endless telephone calls to/from bank, solicitor, purchaser, DH… over the last three days, it would appear that Philip’s house sale will be completed today ???
I came home yesterday with no hiccups, all went well. I was so tired I was in bed and asleep by 8p.m.!
May the day bring only kindness to you all. Carpe diem. ?????
