Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and bright with some sunny but cold weather forecast for today. Thanks for opening up GM and good news about Iris getting home and Phillips house sale finally completing
That’s a lovely photo BlueSapphire thank you for sharing your memories
Todays plan is to make a good start tidying up in the garden, there’s always lots to do and I enjoy pottering around and seeing what’s growing.
Yep I remember the lovely scenic journey from Dawlish Ashcombe the top deck of the bus with the great views!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from sunny Colchester. No frost but it's still very cold.
No Sunday roast today as all 3 AC and their families will be here this afternoon and we only really have space for buffet service. DH is head chef and I am head washer up.
Love to all ? x

Good morning grandMattie and everyone from a bright chilly morning in Hull. It’s going to be a lovely day again. So pleased that Iris is home grandMattie. Your husband looked lovely Bluesapphire.
Today we have friends here from County Durham and yesterday was spent catching up over food and drinks and our DC and DGC came over to see them. They said our GC were so canny. Absolutely love the geordie accent. It’s so friendly. Today we are taking them for a walk through Beverley. Then home for a chicken dinner before they set off back up North.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont. 5° and a beautiful sunrise this morning with an apricot sky fading to pale blue. No wind to speak of.
Grandmattie it is good news that Iris is home. Urms safe journey to your happy place.
Yesterday was a busy cleaning day which is mostly accomplished, bar ironing. If today stays fair, I might get into the garden and do a bit of spring tidying. I'm making a dinner of pasta shells filled with spinach and ricotta in tomato sauce. Have a good day all.

A sad day for you Blue ? nice to see a photo of your man. Grief, they say is the price we pay for love. x

Good morning all from dry and very chilly Harrogate.
Thank you for opening up again*GrandMattie*, good to hear that Iris is home.
Sorry you had an almost wasted journey Ashcombe but always good to meet up with friends.
Yesterday was a sorting out day for me which failed to sort much out. Trying to find out why my bank account is blocked they insisted I have my MacBook professionally cleaned which I did twice, but the bank had closed by then so my attention drew to setting up the pairing of my hearing aid to my phone - that failed. So still to find the joys of my new hearing aid. DDs & DGD are coming this pm - we are having our pancake day today! Hopefully one of my DDs will succeed with the pairing. The first one the hospital audiologist did, this time the audiologist was not familiar with smart phones ?
Have the best day you can folks

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the sun is just coming up behind the Pennines giving a baby pink wash to the sky. It’s dry, so another bonus.

Such good news about Iris grandMattie I hope the pathway post-op continues to go well for her. She has been so brave through two big operations. Ashcombe I have promised myself a radical wardrobe clear out at Easter time. Like you I find it hard. I have so many ‘just in case’ clothes hanging up it’s getting ridiculous. I need to be firm with myself.

That said I have been reinstated on the Diabetes Prevention programme after their mix up and for the first time in my life I’m going to join Slimming World. I kid myself I can do it alone. I’m determined this spring to lose this lard and as an incentive to buy a few new clothes.

So here we are, about to jet off to Malaga late afternoon today. Himself is still snoozing with the excitement of it all. I had to make my own mug of Yorkshire Gold. You just can’t get the staff these days.

Enjoy Sunday all who can. I’m off to read the newspaper, dreading the articles that I glanced at earlier. The situation in the Ukraine intensifies. My heart goes out to all the families affected.

Oops, good morning cornergran and BlueSapphire too!

Good morning grandMattie and Ashcombe and everyone, it’s clear and chilly here too just north of Bath and I’m hoping for another sunny day so I can carry on with the gardening. It’s slow going.
I want to do some baking too, apricot flapjacks I think, and a chicken roast for dinner.
I eventually got DH to make a decision about the log store for a log delivery coming this week, thank goodness though of course the logs will now arrive before the store delivery ☹️
I hope you have a good day x

Thank you for sharing the photo of your husband bluesapphire, some flowers for you.

Morning All. A bright, chilly start to our corner of Somerset

That’s very good news on both fronts grandmattie, a little less pressure now.

Had a couple of hours weeding yesterday, good to be out pottering in the garden. Some technological frustrations with Mr C’s new phone which filled the morning are agreed to be parked until we have access to the son who gave it to him. Although I’m sure a two year old could sort it grin.

MRI for me at lunch time, with travelling and allowing parking time it will fill most of the day.

Take care everyone, hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

Good morning everyone from a bright and frosty Northampton. I have stayed overnight at DS's house, after a lovely time yesterday celebrating his birthday. DD and DSil are here as well.

A nail-biting finish to the England/Wales rugby yesterday, especially for Northampton Saints supporters as we provided both match captains!

I shall be dropped off home mid-morning, in time to change and be ready to go to a home rugby match at lunchtime. Fingers crossed again!

A poignant day, as it was 4 years ago today that I lost my darling DH. Lots of memories passing through my mind..... Picture of DH in Canada, on our last holiday, five months before he died.

Wishing all the best Sunday.

grandMattie Sun 27-Feb-22 07:02:18

Forgot.
After more last minute hiccups, Philip’s house has now been sold and the balance, after repayment of mortgage, is now safely in our bank account for distribution.

Good morning from a clear, chilly Torbay. Thank you for opening up, grandMattie; looks like a few are having a lie-in! What happy news for you all about Iris!

I had a fruitless journey to the theatre yesterday as the tree surgeon failed to arrive, due to some miscommunication. Nevertheless, I enjoyed a catch up with a few members I hadn’t seen for a while which made it worthwhile. They had driven over from Dawlish (brook2704 will remember how far that is!) whereas I live just a few miles away.

Yesterday, I made a start on culling my wardrobe but I don’t find it easy to part with things, despite not wearing them. I need someone ruthless beside me!!

Early church today where Ukraine and its people will be in our prayers. ✝️

grandMattie Sun 27-Feb-22 06:44:08

Good morning from a glorious, apricot skied E Kent.
Sorry I’m late. Had one of those nights where I was awakes several times. I also had to get ready for early church as DH no longer feels able go to the later service ATM. I prefer this service, personally.
Great news! Iris was sent home around 7 pm last night. She will see the consultant again on Tuesday. I suspect X-rays will be involved and new plaster. ???
We had a delicious dinner of venison steaks. If it’s not too late in the season, I think I’ll stock up for the freezer. We are fortunate enough to afford them and don’t spend our money on anything- going out, holidays, hobbies, etc., so why not. We’ve got roast guinea fowl for dinner tonight.
I hope you are all looking after yourselves, being kind to yourselves. Carpe diem. ????☀️?☀️??

grandMattie Sun 27-Feb-22 06:35:58

Hi all. Just opening now. I’ll get going in a moment!
