Good morning Mick (if you’re reading this) and everybody. Thank you for kicking us off GrandMattie. It’s sunny and bright again in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 6°C.

Great news about Iris GrandMattie she has endured so much. Glad the house sale is done and dusted, one less thing to deal with.

Safe journey and enjoy your break Urmstongran. I’m using the NHS weight loss app to log my goals and keep my food diary. I weighed myself this morning and found I have lost 4kg and 3ins off my waist since starting the program.

The situation in Ukraine is so upsetting, l am so worried for the Ukrainian people.

Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Sunday. ?

Off to my brothers later today for a late lunch, we might catch some sport afterwards, exciting rugby yesterday, phew!

Morning everyone from a blue-skied north Kent coast. Another beautiful day in store.

Spent the day in the garden yesterday with more jobs to potter through today. Lifts the spirits to be out in the sunshine with the bird song getting louder by the minute!

Safe travels Urms; an emotional day for you BlueSapphire; a lovely photo of your DH. ?

Hope you all have a good day

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Finished the last bit of ironing and will now telephone my brother and catch up with him. Glad Iris is doing well and good wishes to all.

Mapleleaf Sun 27-Feb-22 09:22:44

Good morning all,
I haven’t read all the posts yet, just the first few, but will go back to them after I’ve posted and breakfasted.

Good news for you, GM.

A day of mixed emotions for you today, BlueSapphire ?.

I hope Mick is enjoying York - he’s certainly got good weather for his trip, as our region is forecast another bright day.

A lazy day ahead again, I think.

Enjoy your Guinea fowl tonight, GM. I don’t blame you in the least for stocking up if you can - we all deserve a treat now and again. ?

Take care everyone.

Good morning all from Carlisle where we have another sunny day. I'm discovering the downside to sunny days...I can see dust everywhere and marks on my windows inside. Window cleaning and dusting are not my housework strong points. I intend to deal with the problem today--by going outside where I can't see them!
I'm yet another one with unworn and barely worn garments in my wardrobe, 'just in case' clothes really. And clothes suitable for holidays in various climes. Obviously, social life and holidaying hasn't happened in the last 2 years. I'll be having a trawl through it soon but I suspect little will go. The problem is that charity shops probably won't want winter clothes now and, as for summer clothes, I might need them soon!
Hopefully, a pleasant day for you all, I'm off to read the Sundays and then it's out to plant things.

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
It was very windy again during the night so it was quite noisy.
DS and family came yesterday afternoon and the house felt like a home again.
Eldest GD likes to have a bath and puts her PJs on to go home, I suspect she falls asleep on the 45 minute journey home.
DD will be coming for dinner tonight, l am going to make her a nut roast and my mushroom sauce which she loves. Last supper really as she travels back to her home in Brussels on Tuesday.
Good to hear poorly people are discharged from hospital, best wishes for speedy recovery.

Good morning everyone! It’s a beautiful morning in Suffolk and like so many of you, I am heading for the garden. Tidying up, pricking out seedlings and general gentle enjoyment. I have a pot which I suspect is harbouring vine weevils so that will be investigated.
That sounds like a great night Baubles! DS did that once, about 30 years ago, and I still remember it vividly.
This afternoon it’s rugby but I think Italy will have a hard time of it. Yesterday was nerve wracking and there was a lot of shouting at the ref here, but we got the result in the end.
Happy holidays Urms and I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning all from bright and cold South Lanarkshire.

I have little ones this morning and I’m shattered after very broken night as one of them threw up in the bed they were sharing.

I’ll try to catch up with the thread later. Meantime have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning from a sunny and bright Essex by the sea.
DH is going to rugby with his grandson this morning.
This afternoon we are going to the pub to watch the Carabao Cup final.
DH was born in Wallasay and is a big Liverpool supporter.
Enjoy Sunday everyone xx

Beechnut Sun 27-Feb-22 08:23:56

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. We have sunny sunshine so I’ll go and work in the garden today. I’d like to get a lot of tidying done and my garden chairs washed by Easter.

I’ve noticed the good news about Iris and BlueSapphires day ? so I’ll go back and read everyone else’s news.

Have a good day all and safe journey to #lazygranning in Malaga Urm ????

Grammaretto Sun 27-Feb-22 08:14:27

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Bright and sunny here for a nice change. It has been wild lately.
Quaker meeting this morning, with prayers for peace, and then to lunch with my in-laws. They have come across some family albums showing DH as a boy.
DGS birthday today but since he lives in NZ he is tucked up in bed already after a wonderful party in the park. I miss them so much.
I am so glad that Iris is home, grandMattie
Feeling for you BlueSapphire on this day.

Safe travels Urmston. How long are you away this time?
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.

Yesterday we had dD and her 4 children here for lunch and the afternoon. Twin boys stayed on which was nice - they usually slope off after a couple of hours. Eldest DGD home from Uni for a few days, was very sombre. Stressed and anxious about her upcoming placement. So many assignments to do as well as a long distance to travel for her placement in a psychiatric hospital. I thought Uni was supposed to be the best time of your life! Someone else to worry about ??.

Lovely to hear the patients are home - Scentia and GM . The best place for recuperation. ?

Not much on today - read yesterday’s papers, roast chicken and relax. DS and family might pop in for a cuppa/catchup.

Have a ‘Good’ day! ?

Lins1066 Sun 27-Feb-22 08:04:40

Good morning all from a sunny corner of the S Welsh coast.
Our neighbour has put the Ukranian flag in an upstairs window, his late father was from the Ukraine.
Glad to hear that Iris is home GM, she is a very brave girl.
Yesterday's walk was very blustery but enjoyable.
Our DS sent photos of his first solo walk with his baby daughter, she is a real cutie. He and his partner are going to register her birth tomorrow.
A homemade cheese and mushroom quiche for lunch and a walk this afternoon.
Mr Lins took the little dog out for a walk at 7, too early for me.
Have a lovely time in Malaga Urm.
Hope that Sunday is kind to everyone.

Gagagran Sun 27-Feb-22 08:00:39

Good Morning everyone from a sunny 3.7c south coast. Set for a nice day I think. The daffodils are out in our garden and are dancing in the breeze. A joyous sight!

DD is calling round to collect her bike today. DH has given it a service and fitted a new comfier saddle. She is going to use it to commute to her university from the new flat when she gets installed there. Completion is scheduled for 9 March. She knows she is going to get homesick for her home and will miss her DH and DS but they will make it work and the 100 miles per day commute will not be causing wear and tear on her and her car.

DGD3 passed her driving test theory this week. She was 17 on 5 February and desperately wants to learn to drive so is having lessons. As soon as her instructor thinks she is ready she will apply for a test. She is a real achiever so I expect it will be soon.

Good news on two fronts Mattie! Just need more from the investigations into your DH now. Fingers crossed it is an easily sorted problem.

Like everyone I am finding the situation in Ukraine heart rending. My youngest brother has a long-term girl friend in Kiev and only got back from a 3 week stay last week. He is now worried sick about her safety. Her Mother lives in the east of Ukraine, where there has been unrest and fighting with Russian separatists for some years. Nothing like it is now though. We can only hope and pray for a resolution soon.

Safe journey back to Malaga Urms. I am another who finds it hard to weed my wardrobe(s) but really must. I feel a bit ashamed of having so many unworn items.

Have the best day possible everyone. sunshine

Good morning all from Glasgow, where we have a beautiful bright sky, what a change from the usual grey.
Thank you GM for opening up and sharing your positive news.

A poignant day for you, Bluesapphire?
I hope you managed to get a space, Corner, good luck!
Kitty, I hope your grandson is OK and you have some news of your friend.
Pleased to hear about your husband, Scentia.

A quiet day for me, apart from tinting my eyebrows and breaking in my wedding shoes.
Yesterday DD and SIL arrived not unexpectedly for lunch, but they brought cream cakes, so they were excused!
SIL keeps his kilt and bits and bobs here and wanted to try it on in preparation for Friday. I have to say he looked really smart, apart from the creases. sad I am going to be busy with the steamer!
Baubles, we found the tartan ribbon, thank goodness!! I felt for DD, inside the box, were all the bits and bobs for the wedding, which never was. ?

Dollie and her parents came to church last night, so she became my assistant helping me with various jobs. She was in her element, especially as she had possession of the Keys of the Kingdom in her hand.
Later on, I played back the live stream, only to be shocked to see a wee, old lady, who looked like a Michelin man, with short, skinny legs, working about on the altar.
Now there was me under the delusion illusion, that I looked so sophisticated and elegant. ?

Enjoy your Sunday, whatever your plans. Dustyangel, I hope today is a better day for you.?
Urms, safe journey! ?

Good morning from a frosty and sunny Oxfordshire, piles of washing to get through today, MsOops and the Grandchildren left rather suddenly last night as Granddaughter tested positive for Covid, she thought it was Hayfever, as she was itchy all over and sneezing, (so far MrOops and I don’t have any symptoms) she has been double jabbed, only recently as her Heart Consultant was reluctant to give her the go ahead, let’s hope all will be ok.
Some lovely photos of family of GNers on here lately , some happy and some sad, but with good memories.
Enjoy your day everyone, wish I was off somewhere warm Urms , Iris Is so brave GM and pleased that the house sale went through at last.
Hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.

Beauregard Sun 27-Feb-22 07:46:03

Good morning everyone. A bright and sunny day here in Derbyshire.

We enjoyed our day with our DGS's yesterday, taking them to Shipley park for a nature trail, a picnic and a kick about with the football (although the youngest preferred to pick daisies for me instead!). The 8 year olds impressive football skills were observed by a passer by who said he hoped he would one day play for his team, Notts County!

Later I received a call from DD and we had a long overdue heart to heart about some issues that have come between us. It was good to have that conversation and I felt better for it.

flowers for BlueSapphire
Safe journey Urms

Wishing everyone a good Sunday

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks sunny. Not sure we’re the sun has had his hat lately ?
I have DH home and I have been to the factory to collect some stuff so I can work from home for a while and keep my beady eye on him. Make sure he isn’t doing too much?
Bluesapphire lovely photo of your DH?
Great news that Iris is home now I always think you improve no end once you get home.
Take care everyone and stay safe ❤️
