Yesterday I saw Kirstie and Phil discussing where their happy place was. They both said it was their bed. Mine is my bath, and my garden in the summer. Where is yours?

Standing with my small GC and giving them a hug - the wave of joy is like nothing else. Holkham Beach is a happy place for me, and so is my fabulously comfortable bed.

So many ....
The Royal Albert Hall, where I can lose myself in glorious music in the most wonderful iconic building that is my favourite in the world.

The beach at Aldeburgh in Suffolk, preferably with fish & chips in newspaper from one of the two great chippies.

White Hart Lane in the 1960s where I go in my memory to watch Jimmy Greaves at the peak of his talent - so grateful I got to see him then.

Best of all - bed, DH and me with our books or just chatting and laughing . If there is heaven, that is it.

In the garden when the sun is shining, chilling with a book.

The village where my grandparents lived and where I will be buried. My garden on a nice day. My armchair with a book on a not so nice day.

My greenhouse, especially in the rain.

Mine is back in my native homeland - the North East. Walking along the river bank at Durham City or on the beach at Seaham collecting sea glass. Ah bliss!

In my chair with my 2 West High!and terriers sitting beside me, or in the kitchen cooking or baking . Failing that, curtains closed at. night sitting knitting ,watching TV

a caravan by the seaside would be my happy place but seeing as that is only a dream then the bed would be mine. Wonderfully warm and comfortable making my back and hip ache less! I am usually tucked up with my cat and dogs so pure heaven!

With my head on my husband's chest and his arm around me

Our garden.Yesterday was bliss.Several hours tidying up on a sunny day with the sound our resident blackbirds, robin and great and blue tits gearing up for spring.

reading on a low indie metal chair made from recycled painted oil drums, it is at the bottom of my small garden under a tree canopy and surrounded by other young small trees. The birds are starting to visit and drink from the bubbling water feature. It is shaded bliss on a very hot day. I have pruned the tree behind so that the canopy is above me with no lower branches. It is only about 16` tall and will grow to about 25` maximum. The trees left and right are upward rowans, again pruned so they will each develop a canopy

I like that chair so much, I keep it in the garage during autumn to spring. I want to preserve it. It is bright green and has all sorts of blotches and drum marks on it with a lacquered finish. I put 4 slabs down for the chair and my feet, then I put rubber matting on top to hide the slabs

Anywhere out of my house. The extent of my husbands deafness is excruciating . When I ‘need’ the volume on about 12/13 …. my husband has it on 43!!! This is 16/17 hours a day….. my tinnitus is awful and my temper fraying. But apparently he’s “ not deaf woman”…. shouting it at me as he can’t hear himself speak!! Got the picture!!

Thinking about this, for me a happy place has soul connection, some may call it spiritual (not in any way religious or a god connection). For me it is a place outside, no one else around, with a long distance countryside or coastal view. I agree with Pendle Hill and Hannafore beach, and would like to add Exmoor and Mount Edgcumbe looking towards Plymouth Sound and Drake’s Island.

When I am so decrepit I can’t get out I have beautiful photographs to look at so I can recapture the feelings.

Lee bay in North Devon, where I learned to walk, learned to swim and calls me back every time. A place my spirit will return when I die

Without doubt Italy, that is the only place my heart really sings. Especially Venice. If I could I would live there but my family here would not support the idea ?

Ohmother

I can’t say but my OH wouldn’t be happy! ?

Same here!

Lots of happy places but the one I'm looking forward to returning to next month is our caravan in Devon and the beautiful woods surrounding the site, with magnificent old trees full of character and grace.

JaneJudge definitely Turf Moor, I've been a Burnley supporter for over 60 years, in those days I had to take a small stool with me so I could watch the football grin

happycatholicwife1 Tue 01-Mar-22 03:35:46

A beautiful Catholic Church. My chair by the fire, looking at memorabilia of my grandmothers, mother, and aunts.
Anywhere with my DH. In my Florida room, looking at my seashells. In my garden. With a few select people. With any of my grandchildren at any time.

The field where my ponies live. It's always peaceful and I love watching them and the birds.
