Yesterday I saw Kirstie and Phil discussing where their happy place was. They both said it was their bed. Mine is my bath, and my garden in the summer. Where is yours?
My house, my garden, any beautiful countryside especially if it includes water, the library or a bookshop, usually it's Waterstones that's what we have locally, but any bookshop. Loved the one in Alnwick discovered a couple of years ago when we were there, wonderful!
Conservatory by the sea here in sunny ? north Wales and my traditional Spanish patio in mi Casa in the mountains of Andalusia - both places bring a smile of contentment as I turn the corner coming home?
Like MaggsMcG I don’t have just one. The one I’ve just thought of ( because we were talking about holidays) is when I meet my family at the airport and we’re all going on holiday together. That’s a lovely feeling. I love being with my very close friends when the conversation and laughs are just flowing.
Sat around my dining table having a huge meal with our 2 sons, husband, daughter in-law and 2 grandchildren (and the dog lay under the table!). Also, on holiday abroad (preferably Italy) sat in the sunshine having a drink at a pavement cafe just watching the world and his wife go by.
Actually I agree with MMG in that I'm fortunate to have many. I tried to respond in the spirit of the opener by mentioning my superlative but there are others that come very close.
I don't have one. I should say I don't have JUST one. It also depends on the time of year and how I feel. My house, and my bed at times. My youngest's house when they have their open fire lit. Any musical theatre show, even better when my granddaughter is with me. My friends for lunch in a nice pub or cafe. A particular retail outlet with a special friend or two for coffee. Many other places at different times of the year or if I am involved in any Am. Dram with them. I'd be a bit worried if I only had one happy place, but that's just me.
In my conservatory full of warm sunlight, with a cup of tea, having just come in from the garden where it is b****y cold! I might just nod off in a……….
Georgesgran The Newcastle Quayside on a sunny day - it's my happy place too. A special mention too for Cullercoats looking out to sea with the waves crashing and the wind blowing. I absolutely love it there.
