Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning, today will see me do my usual routine bus trip to Bicester .
What I have also noticed with the signs of spring , some trees are starting to blossom .
Despite the cold air chill we are getting .
I gave my feedback via email to the coach operators as to the trip to York , they replied telling me a week long trip latter this year , plus another next year are in the pipeline , told them that late March /April would be ideal especially when taking in Harrogate .
Take Care,
Mick

Isn't Spring just the loveliest time of the year?
Lovely church Marydoll. Looking forward to hearing reports of the wedding.
Just heard yesterday from a good friend, distraught that his son has signed up to fight in Ukraine. Its possible that a lot of our young men will join him.
Hope all our lovely grans who are unwell feel better soon,

Good morning Mick and everybody. Non stop drizzle in my corner of Lancashire this morning, forecast to continue all day, currently 8°.

The vile tasting medicine continues to work. Another decent night’s sleep.

I am trying to find some positives today, the news from Ukraine is horrifying. I have donated to the Red Cross fund, am wondering what else I can do. My fear is that Putin will not stop until Kyiv is flattened. He can’t be allowed to do this while the rest of the world watches.

My thoughts remain with the people of Ukraine, and also those in Australia affected by floods.

My daffodils are starting to show, I guess that’s something hopeful.

Good morning Mick and all from a wet northwest coast.
Off to have my roots and highlights done today, I drive into the nearest city hometown rather than local as I like the casual easygoing atmosphere. They just get on with it quickly, no hanging about for hours on end and don’t take much notice of me, which I like. I hate being fussed around.
The recital was nice yesterday and two separate friends from the music club turned up so we sat together and then I had a quick coffee with one of them who never stops talking but is lovely. He’s the type who picks up his coffee cup to drink but puts it back in the saucer as another anecdote comes to mind.
I had to dash off to visit my friends mother in a nursing home in visiting hours. She was in bed this time, but in a glittery top and in good form. I’m having a night out with her daughter on Saturday.
The soaking wet cat has come in and brushed against my bare legs, yuck.
Thoughts to Gingster and anyone with troubles.

Good morning from an overcast Derbyshire. Very simple plans for today - planning shopping, making a few appointment then cleaning bathrooms (not my favourite job!) but NO couldn’t do any of that. A flock of about 50 sheep came for a day trip to our field! Took some time to sort out but now they are on their way home and they didn’t even complete the grass cutting! Suppose I’d better do the bathrooms now.

aggie Thu 03-Mar-22 10:19:41

Good Morning , it’s a lovely sunny morning here , I hope the sun appears tomorrow for the wedding Marydoll rest up and let someone else and steam the kilts !
That’s a beautiful Church

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 03-Mar-22 10:06:11

Good Morning all from damp Harrogate.
Well, this morning I was caught napping - the man came to fix a TV, we could get any programme we liked as long as it was on Channel 4. Fortunately DH was up and ready. Next on the list is a delivery from Sainsburies - anytime now.
I did phone a dog rescue centre yesterday to see if they wanted clean dog beds and dog foods, but am disappointed not to hear from them. Yesterday I also phoned the support line for my hearing aid and it's now sorted, today I will see if they can help with my mini microphone.
Glad your surveyor found the cause of the mould, and hope you get your compensation.
Our surveyor found that our ceiling is not likely to fall down - a big relief! When we were first married and in a rented flat, a ceiling did fall on me getting the back of my head - I've been allergic to cracks in ceilings since.
That's good your DH is going to the rehab centre Scentia hope he is being sensible about it.
Love that church, Marydoll it's so typically Scottish. Take it easy today so you can enjoy the wedding
That's DD just phoning, it's DGDs 6th Birthday later this month so I was asking her what is required as a b/day present.
Happy Birthday to Mr Dinosaur.
Have the best day you can, folks

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Mar-22 10:00:03

Sorry Marydoll. The pigeons bringing your photies to the thread were on a go slow. Your shoes are gorgeous. As is the church.

EkwaNimitee Thu 03-Mar-22 09:58:16

Good morning Mick and everyone from a grey and dreary Carlisle.
I've no get up and go today so will need to give my btm a kicking. A walk to the postbox and some fresh air may help. I have some admin to do, not something I'm ever enthusiastic about.
The developers are clearing their portakabins away, now I can see green fields and the far horizon if I lean out of my window. Much nicer.
Wishing MrGM all the best with his tests and the best possible day to all.

Beechnut Thu 03-Mar-22 09:30:47

Wishing a Happy Birthday to Mrdinosaur ??

hulahoop Thu 03-Mar-22 09:10:46

What to have for tea is getting boring do others agree ,then I think of the people not getting much and I feel guilty .Take care all and best wishes to all who have birthdays ,anniversary s.

Anniebach Thu 03-Mar-22 08:44:05

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Mar-22 08:43:15

Marydoll a teaser too far! Nae photies!!

Lins1066 Thu 03-Mar-22 08:41:20

Good morning from a wet S Welsh coast.
We had a very wet drive back from Bishopsteignton but no traffic delays thankfully.
It is our friend and neighbour's funeral this morning, the weather is matching our mood. Our DS will be there but DD is sad that she can't, our friend saw them grow up and they were very fond of each other.

Our DD is back in Las Vegas and has been upgraded to the 26th floor, she has a great view of the fountains and if she goes to Channel 22 on the tv, she can hear the music the music that plays during the fountains show - one for you Urms ?

Happy birthday to Mr Grandmadinosaur ?
Take care everyone.

Marydoll Thu 03-Mar-22 08:40:42

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, I hope it's not like this tomorrow. Urms, send some of your sunshine, please!

Yesterday was exhausting, despite my best efforts to be sensible.
I insisted DH try on the kilt, thank goodness I did. The shoes were too large and the belt too small. It took an hour to get the full caboodle on. However, I have to admit, he did look quite handsome!!!
I passed on the fish tea and DH went for takeaway instead.
I was so exhausted and breathless, when I went to collect my new heart meds, that the pharmacist was very concerned.
I promise to be a good girl today. If you believe that, you will believe anything.

Today will be spent steaming the kilts, (SIL didn't hang his up properly) starching the shirts, sorting my outfit and making up the emergency bag. I will be bring an emergency kit of chocolate ( DD's request), spare tights, plasters, baby wipes, angina spray, Ventolin inhaler, a stash of pills etc. etc.
I should have asked GM to make a holdall, to match my outfit! wink
I have attached a photo of the church, I hope they have oxygen at the top of those stairs!

Scentia, that was a quick appointment for cardiac rehab, mine took ages and that was before Covid.
Initially, I refused psychological counselling, as I thought I didn't need it. However, I was so angry that that despite having low chlorestoral, clear arteries, no faulty valves, didn't smoke nor drink, had a very healthy diet, I still had developed a severe heart condition. I felt it was so unfair!
If your husband is offered this, he should avail himself of that offer. It helped me so much to come to terms with things.

Kim, I too received an unexpected message from an old school friend the other day. Its exciting, isn't it?
I hadn't seen her in over forty years, when I meet her again at safeguarding training. We had been at secondary school together and were in a group of friends of the convent girls and the boys from the academy.
We have a meeting in a few weeks, so are going for a catch up later. I'm looking forward to reminiscing about old friends.

I will come back later and read all, but in the meantime, sending my very best wishes to all.

P.S, the shoe is a teaser for Fanny. The second shoe will be going on as soon as the photos are done!

Grammaretto Thu 03-Mar-22 08:30:46

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where we have steady rain. At least I know what to wear when I go out plus a brolly.
Today I am invited, as substitute, to a schools' music concert/competition. I am sorry that DDiL is still isolating after covid but pleased to be going to hear my DGS. and the others ofcourse!

After yesterday's funeral, a day of awful news from Ukraine, filling in forms online, plus news that my lodgers are not moving in tomorrow after all, this is such a nice surprise.

Oh Gingster I know how you feel. Why is everything so hard?!. flowers

The birds are still singing and as Mick reminds us, the blossom is beginning.

GrannySomerset Thu 03-Mar-22 08:27:55

Grey and misty outside but cheerful inside as I am having a belated birthday lunch with some of my lovely WI friends so am looking forward to it.

Like others I have been wondering about the best way to send support to Ukraine but the Disasters Emergency Committee has opened a fund so that feels like the best way to help. Can’t get that poor country and its people out of my mind.

harrigran Thu 03-Mar-22 08:21:22

Good morning from a grey, damp NE.
My financial advisor is coming to the house at 10am. He is travelling from Harrogate so I hope the roads are okay.
DD's return to her home showed she had mice and snails getting access, cat has had to live with a neighbour so wasn't there to chase them.
SIL is changing the security on the computers and we have one or two other loose ends to tie up.
Thoughts are with the poorly people.

Gingster Thu 03-Mar-22 07:56:05

Good morning all and we’re due a bright day today.
Bowls and art clubs for me today. DH is going fishing so will drop me off and I’ll get a lift back with a friend. (Only one car can be a nuisance).
Poor eldest GD fainted at Uni yesterday and banged her face on a radiator. Broken front tooth and bruised chin. Ended up in hospital but back to her digs before bedtime. Now she has to find an emergency dentist . This degree course is very demanding and I think it’s taking the stuffing out of her.

DD’s immunotherapy treatment , due to start this Friday, has been postponed ?. Mess up at the hospital as she has to fill in forms etc before it can start. Why is everything so hard!

Then you think of the poor people in Ukraine and life doesn’t seem so bad here, at the moment! ?.

Wishing you all a good day.???

Pittcity Thu 03-Mar-22 07:47:42

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A pleasant change from the last two very wet days. It's overcast so should feel milder.
Our forsythia is already yellow with flowers and there are many other signs of spring. I have some seeds started on the kitchen windowsill and must think about what to put it other empty garden spots.
We didn't get to the supermarket yesterday so that's a job for today. Otherwise just this and that.
Love to all ? x

ShazzaKanazza Thu 03-Mar-22 07:39:29

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dull old Hull.
Urmstongran I am envious every morning reading your posts from Malaga but love it. grandMattie I hope your DH gets through his fastings and that his scan outcome is good. We are just waiting on the results of DHs CT scan he had on Monday. Grandmadinosaur enjoy your husbands birthday lunch and dinner with family today.
Today my new grandaughter is due to be born but given her big sister was 11 days late don’t think it will happen soon.
Have to drop a load of bedding and food to a collection point locally for Ukraine then off to the gym but otherwise not to busy.
Take care everyone and hope Thursday brings everyone moments of joy.

BlueSapphire Thu 03-Mar-22 07:35:43

Good morning from a grey but dry Northampton. At least it has stopped raining after yesterday's non-stop downpour. Had to go to the shops after my hair appointment in search of onions for the goulash and luckily the little post office had some, otherwise it would have been a wet trek to the next nearest shop.

Minding my own business in the afternoon when suddenly there was a tremendous crash from my bedroom. Rushed upstairs to find that a picture above the bed had suddenly crashed to the floor, falling down behind the bed. Glass everywhere, which necessitated moving the bed to get at it. Got a big box and thick leather gardening gloves to pick up the bigger pieces, and then dustpan and brush and Hoover to cope with the smaller bits. The actual lovely print survived unscathed, but frame and glass are only fit for the bin.

Glad I wasn't actually in bed when it happened! Only thing is I have now strained my back moving the very heavy bed and chest of drawers and am taking ibuprofen.

So spent the rest of the day taking it easy and finishing Death on the Nile. The goulash turned out ok from the slow cooker, and the leftovers are awaiting the freezer. Scampi and chips tonight I think.

Ballet class this afternoon then a trip to the rugby club ticket office to renew my season ticket, which we are supposed to do on line, but my laptop says not, as does my tablet.

Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Mar-22 07:31:05

Good morning all from Polmont. Pouring rain and 5°. Such a change from the beautiful weather of the last two days. Enjoy your family time Brook. Happy birthday to Grandpa dinosaur. Beechnut being further north, it takes a while for spring, but my lovely white crocuses are out in force. Gagagran sympathy. That is my usual sleep pattern and I've got used to it now after a few years.
Yesterday went well. I visited mum and she was ok but hinting at wanting to move. Here we go again! She moved to her current flat, against everyone's advice, four years ago. It was a nightmare as she expected family and my friends to do it all. I've told her I won't do it again. Then art class which was the last one til April. I'll miss going as there's a lovely group of people who go. Later on I had to watch dgs1 as the baby was going to the doctor. It turns out the wee soul has an ear infection and a ruptured eardrum.
Today I have a friend coming round for coffee. He lost his partner at the end of last year and is finding life a bit difficult. I hope you have a good day.

kittylester Thu 03-Mar-22 07:27:48

Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.

Volunteering again this morning at a Dementia cafe. We have a Sainsbury's delivery. This week has been a bit full on one way and another.

brook2704 Thu 03-Mar-22 07:19:51

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bit cloudy and a bit of drizzle forecast, a bit of a change from the lovely sunny weather the last couple of days
Hope all goes well today for your DH Scentia, also hoping your DH copes ok with his fasting GM that sounds quite tough
Today we’re on the Inverness to Luton flight to stay with DD1 for a few days in Cambridge. It’s my youngest DGSs 5th birthday today so I’m so much looking forward to seeing him later.
Sounds like a good catch up is planned Kim something to look forward to
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmadinosaur Thu 03-Mar-22 07:18:37

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is dry at the moment. Yesterday was a horrible cold ,wet, grey day more like November.

Today is DH Birthday. I think he is pleased with his present which is tickets for “An evening with” for a footballer from his favourite team. It coincides with a busy week when we come back from our holiday.

We are going out for lunch and then collecting GS from school. We will have cake and then go for a couple of drinks early doors with the family.

What a nice surprise Kim it will be something to look forward to.
Take care everyone.
