Good morning all from wet Harrogate
So good to hear you have more support now GrandMattie I hope Mr M will benefit from a change of medication.
I have no real plans for today, hope to get a bit more painting done, intended to do some yesterday, but strangely tidying the house took precedence! (The pain

An earlier than usual good morning from me in Northampton, as I did not sleep well and couldn't lie awake any longer. It is bright and sunny but looks like we have had rain overnight.

Glad I got the grass cut yesterday before the rain; it was hard going as it had got very long, so shall try to cut it regularly from now on. Also noted the shrubs and bushes that need tidying up. That will be done on a nice day next week.

Out on the bus to the shops today. Think I shall take the summer duvet to be cleaned/washed/laundered, whatever they do with them, so shall be ready if/when we get warmer weather. Will probably have a snack lunch out, then back to watch the rugby on tv.

Glad that your DH is getting the care he needs, grandMattie. Thinking of you, treading that well worn path that some of us on here have been on, and sending you our love and prayers. flowersflowers

Maw, I do hope your dear Rosie gets over her terrible experience yesterday. She will need lots of your TLC, which I am sure you will give in abundance.

Off now to make some toast, and await the arrival of the newspaper with the crosswords etc in. Have the best day you can, everyone.

Good morning everyone , I’ve only read the first two posts so far but I wanted to post myself before making sure I’m ready for the carer when she arrives. We can’t afford to have her that much more and I’m getting more mobile although that brings more pain with it. I can see a gleam of light through the skylight blackout. DH still snoozing so I can’t open it more to check the weather. I hope it’s drier than yesterday which was a day of sunshine and very heavy showers.

Mattie that particular form is something that I have to broach with DH. Apparently it is possible to have one here, a fact I’ve only just found out although one needs to consult a lawyer to draw up the document sooner rather than later.

I’ll be back later to catch up with you all.

So sorry about Hattie, maw. Sending her get better soon wishes and a gentle pat.

Morning Mick, morning All. Overnight rain seems to have cleared leaving our corner of Somerset windy, dry and bright.

A relaxed day yesterday. Lunch out before an after school cake session here with our granddaughters, one with a birthday yesterday the other with one tomorrow. We attached balloons to their gifts wondering if they were too old for such things. Certainly not, both loved them. Their lives are complex after divorce requiring much juggling of their time, we felt fortunate to be part of the birthday jigsaw puzzle.

Off to collect my new glasses this morning then we hope to have a walk, or more accurately to be blown along the sea front, it’s windy out there.

A relief to read support is in place for you both grandmattie. I hope the new medication is successful. I’ll be thinking of you both.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is gentle with us all.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Light and damp this morning.

The only thing good about the price rises I’m hoping will stop me throwing things in the shopping trolley willy nilly. Also to check my cupboards with what I need. I sent Beechnutella home with a few things last weekend that were tripled up.

Today I’m going to clean the inside of my bedroom window and a diy job that will leave me able to put away the tools that have lain in my craft room for months. I think I’ve given the job a good coat of looking at.
After seeing the price of iPad covers I’m going to see if I can men the one I have which is very tatty.

Have a good day day all and thoughts to everyone who need a just a bit more than usual ???

Good morning all from N Bucks.
While waiting for Mick to “ open up” I have been listening to the lovely dawn chorus. I think the first bird was around 5.30 but some of you may know otherwise.
My sisters in law are staying for a couple of days and I have bought tickets to take them to Bletchley Park.
First however Rosie and I have a trip to the vet for a checkup after her nasty accident yesterday. She and another dog were apparently playing happily enough together in the field at the kennels she was staying in as I had gone up to Birmingham for SIL’s birthday ( Thursday) and D (yesterday)
The other dog attacked her however and she has two massive puncture wounds on her neck and was a very traumatised dog when I collected her in the afternoon. The kennel owner had rushed her to our vet before she rang me from the vets .
It looks awful and she was very shocked -as was I.
I was glad of the sisters in law’s company and “moral support” last night.
Thoughts for you dear Grandmattie , things seem to be moving very quickly flowers
Wishing you all a pleasant day and comfort from your worries or pain.

Good Morning Mick, Mattie and all who follow from a very grey and damp south coast. 6c.

We are off to get the click and collect at 7am, also get my weekly treat of a paper then have croissants and coffee on return. Little things but give me pleasure!

Yesterday the saga of my tooth crown continued. The patch which Harry, my dentist, had fitted to the bottom front one came off, so he said to go for an emergency appointment - the third in 2 weeks. We discussed the options and decided that it really needs a new crown so he did all the necessary measuring with a new high-tech tool (no plasticiney-goo impression). It will be ready in 3 weeks so I now have a temporary crown on.

Called at the bakers shop afterwards and treated us to some of their lovely soft bread rolls and a soft doughnut each. Well I couldn't risk the temporary crown could I ?

DH is leading a group of his cycling club later, on a morning ride in the South Downs so I shall enjoy reading my paper and then make lunch for his return. Nothing else much planned but these blank agendas keep getting unexpected AOBs added!

I don't think we have seen the end of price rises yet as the Ukraine situation gets worse. Those poor people seeing their homes and towns devastated by indiscriminate bombing. If ever there was a crime against humanity this is it. Shame on Russia.

Good to know that you are getting local support now Mattie and that it is available whenever needed. I hope that gives you some ease of mind. Love and prayers to you both.

Thinking of everyone suffering home and away. sunshine

Good morning from West Berkshire. I rarely post on the good morning thread or read it much to be honest, however I noticed yesterday that it was particularly long and took a look.
I just wanted to add my prayers for you and your DH grandMattie and hope the new meds will bring his pain under control and keep him comfortable ?

Nothing exciting for me today. Grocery shopping this morning, self pedicure and manicure this afternoon whilst listening to the football on the radio. My beloved team are in the doldrums big time.

Wishing you all as good a day as possible.

Good morning from a grey E Kent. It’s not going to be a very nice day here.
I have noticed prices going up a lot too, Mick. Sadly inevitable with the shortage of cereal, and the sky high petrol/gas prices.
Things are moving very fast on the DH front. A lovely hospice doctor visited last night as he didn’t feel well enough to visit her as planned earlier. She has changed all the drugs, to be collected this morning. I hope that will be better for him. Scarily, she did, at our request, a DNAR form ?. I cannot fault the service we are getting. The hospice team are being wonderful, and available at any time, day or night. Thank you NHS.
DD went home last night, she gave us a lot of support and kept her dad happy. Although delighted to see her, he was acutely aware of her girls needing their mum.
I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and kind thoughts.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight ,and a clear sky with signs of rain on the ground here in brackley .
Today , I will hopefully go via Buckingham to Bicester and return direct to watch cycling on TV this afternoon .
I had a fish & chip takeaway yesterday lunch, and the price as leaped by 40p seems to average 20p every 2 weeks increase.
Take Care,
Mick
