I'm a 'when I fancy' riser. Obviously depends on what appointments I have but set a reminder alarm on those days. Things will change naturally as the days lengthen and warm up. I'm always keen to be outside either in the garden or riverside walking. Mother nature pretty much controls my life these days. I've had a regular word about long and dreary winters but she's simply not listening!

We’re only just having breakfast. We binge watched the first series of Bosch last night. Excellent.

A bit (too much) of wine last night and not having to get up to take my granddaughter to school are good enough reasons for my lie in.

I was up at 6.30 this morning checking my phone as my best friend had a family emergency last night so that was playing on my mind. But Sunday lunch prepped so now time to get dressed.

Just got up and now having breakfast. I usually have a later start on Sundays anyway. I'm always busy during the day and sleep a lot!!

A late riser here. Go to bed late, get up late, no guilt. Retired, no commitments, no bother.

I’m up early today at 10am. I’m usually in bed till midday but then I don’t go to bed until 3 in the morning.

I slept in until 7. Usually my DGS comes in at about 6am, so waking of my own volition at 7am was nice. Got out of bed at about 7.30.

Facetimed son and grandson in Sydney, then had a bath and washed the dog in the bath water after!!! A lot of towels to wash now!

Was awake for about four hours during the night. Worse since hurting head. sad
Up at eight, but dizzy with tiredness.

I must add that I’ve read the paper, paid some bills and done my Wordle & quordle for the day!! Not just been lying here!
Back to 8am tomorrow!!

Helen657 Sun 13-Mar-22 10:15:07

I’m still in bed…… putting off getting out of it as when I do I need to change the bedding!!!

travelsafar As you say I have and I hate it and it is what I have done today and I hate it as well.

I usually wake between 6.00-6.30am . Today I slept through until nearly 8.00am and I felt thick and groggy because I had overslept, which slowed me down even further. It is now just on 10.00 and I am just doing what I usually do about 7.00am.

My excuse/reason? After a year of turbulence and stress, which sent all my regular habits of exercise and fitness to the wall, for the last four days, I have been out in the garden each day clearing, weeding, digging and starting to get control of the garden again.

I have really enjoyed, it is exhilerating, but at the same time, I am in my late 70s and fitness falls off quickly, if you do not maintain it and, while I am sure I will get back close to where I was a year ago, currently my relatively short period of daily gardening is leaving me stiff and sleeping very heavily. I am going to have to start setting the alarm.

Yes I did, in a big way

Some sort of nasty cold, according to my fitbit I slept from 11pm Friday till 10am Saturday. Then from 1pm until 5pm Saturday. Then from 10pm Saturday till 9am today.

I obviously needed it as feel a lot better! Hope its gone completely before work tomorrow

I am just having my kick start espresso so not fully functioning yet. Started new meds. Yesterday which have wiped me out a bit. ?‍♀️

I no longer look for excuses, ergo, no guilt.

I've been up for 45 minutes. I've showered, put a load of washing on and had a cup of tea.
My excuse for sleeping late is post menopausal night sweats. Some nights are better than others, but last night (as with many) I was hot until after 2am.
It's a good job I don't have to be up for work these days.

Kate1949 Sun 13-Mar-22 10:02:14

I don't need an excuse.
After 50 years of getting up at 6 am for work, I get up when I feel like it.

Luckygirl3 Sun 13-Mar-22 10:00:11

You have achieved more than I have - just having breakfast.

travelsafar Sun 13-Mar-22 09:58:40

I have and I hate it, now almost 10am and still in pj's and dressing gown!!! Have had breakfast and just finishing my cuppa then into the shower I'll go. I have stripped my bed and washing is in the machine so I have done something. Think I slept in as have had a really busy week, out everyday, sometimes twice and I knew today was gonna be a day at home, so I relaxed and slept really well. What's your excuse if your up late???
