Good morning everyone, Im looking forward to catching up with you all, this is just to say while it is still morning that the horrible yellow sky is now a more normal grey cloud. Most of the Sahara is deposited in small sandy whirlwind deposits on my patio and it’s more normal March weather.

Thinking of all with family worries and poor health today. sunshine

hollysteers Thu 17-Mar-22 11:27:52

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Quiet day today, but off to see Yoeman of the Guard tonight. I’m not a big G&S fan, but love going to the theatre and always sit right at the front to really feel part of it.
Yesterday took the bus as I do a couple of times a week for a change from driving, and it was a double decker! Quite a surprise on this quiet dog leg route. Sat upstairs at the front and it cheered me up, small things…
Thoughts to all the grans with worries and happy st. Patrick’s Day ☘️

Good morning all,
My infants/primary school was St Patrick’s and we too all had shamrock on the day ,never quite sure how it got there,it would have been from about 1941 ish!
Tomorrow second tooth extraction in the great dental plan, going to be a long job.?.

Well worth it Marydoll, he was here for about an hour and now it’s done there isn’t a trailing wire in site.

Marydoll Thu 17-Mar-22 10:47:18

Blossoming we are getting the same done to Mr MD's Honda CR-V.
He just needs to get his act together as usual !

Blossoming Thu 17-Mar-22 10:34:56

Good morning Mick and everyone. Sunshine in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 7°C.

There is a man fitting our Honda CR-V with a fancy pants dash cam this morning, controlled via smart phone. He is now showing Mr. B how to use it, I wish him luck. Mr. B is more of a practical bent, anything tech falls to me. As I no longer drive this one is up to him.

The forecast is good for this afternoon and we’re off out for a walk around a local nature reserve. Sand martins have arrived, I love watching these delightful little birds. It will be good to get out in the sunshine and fresh air. Not sure how far my legs will carry me but there are plenty of places to sit and rest.

Fingers crossed for the freezer today Grandmattie, another niggle you could do without.

I hope all goes well for your DD Chrissielou it’s so hard watching our loved ones go through these things.

I’m hoping your symptoms are mild and soon gone Ashcombe and that your DH isn’t affected.

Marydoll rest as much as you can today.

Enjoy your Palma trip Brook, you are a gadabout grin

Afternoon tea sounds wonderful Gagagran, enjoy the treat, you deserve it.

Fingers crossed for your SiL grandmabatty, you must be getting very good at being a train now!

Sorry to hear of your mishap GrannySomerset, hope it’s soon sorted.

Apologies to anyone I haven’t mentioned, I do read all your posts but my short term memory is not good.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

EkwaNimitee Thu 17-Mar-22 09:49:31

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle where I was surprised to see a frost this morning. It soon lifted.
I've already done the ironing so that's housework for the day. I may do a little admin but I broke the back of it yesterday in a boring afternoon. I'm hoping for an afternoon of gardening today.
Covid seems to be widespread amongst you...I'm feeling a bit nervous about my trip to London at the end of the month but am not thinking of cancelling now I have the train tickets.

I hope you are soon well Ashcombe without suffering greatly.
And best wishes for improvements to all suffering.

luluaugust Thu 17-Mar-22 09:19:24

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Good catch up with friend yesterday and today off to my group. DD2 and GS5 still not covid free yet, so delivery of cake and magazines today.
Best wishes to all

Auntieflo Thu 17-Mar-22 09:17:43

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. The sun is shining brightly here and kindly showing up the mess that the sand-rain has made of our windows. I got up early and made the tea, as DH had a very disturbed night, and I had vivid dreams of Ukraine. Later on I have an appointment for a haircut, then we may take the car to be washed as it looks dreadful. Could mean lunch out as well, which would be nice.
Sorry to hear that you have more problems to deal with GrandMattie, so hope you manage to find a suitable fridge freezer, and that your DH enjoys his new view from his lounger.
Hoping that the daughters of Chrissielou and Ginster, have the same caring treatment by their oncologists, that I am getting.
Have a good day one and all.

GrannySomerset Thu 17-Mar-22 08:56:06

Managed to scrape the car yesterday so need to take it to our local body repair chap for an alarming estimate and a date for it to be sorted out. Cross with myself for not seeing the large stone by my front near side wheel but can’t blame anyone else for spoiling what was otherwise a good day. Lent course this afternoon and am still waiting for the book to arrive so will have to keep quiet as I won’t have read what is being discussed.

Sympathies to those dealing with the wretched virus in all its forms and hope the attacks are mild. Still with us, with infection rates rising here in the south west.

Grammaretto Thu 17-Mar-22 08:49:10

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!
I am starting a new tradition and am having lunch with my Irish cousin. We rediscovered eachother through our DNA. our DGF were brothers who both left Ireland as young men to find work and she now lives in Edinburgh.

GMattie a kerfuffle indeed just when you can do without. I tried to cook a meal on the electric minihob last night but it fused with all the sockets in the kitchen! I had to phone the electrician who talked me through switching it on again. Luckily my Helper girl has a gas camping stove so we cooked on that. Just before midnight he phoned to say he has a spare hob he could bring round... I am too old for this.
Sorry to hear you have covid Ash. Get better soon and enjoy being nursed. flowers

Feelingmyage55 Thu 17-Mar-22 08:46:53

Good morning all from a very chilly, frosty north of Scotland.
Ashcombe, hope you have a mild infection. Time for feet up, books and music.
Grandmattie ? for you. Maybe a bird feeder outside or even on that window - the Perspex sticky on one with Niger seed for the smaller birds?
I enjoyed the Glesca grannies novella and am determined to make the next one.
My daughter is here working from home for a couple of days but I have company ?. Someone to eat with and chat. I slept better for having someone else in the house too.
Off for my breakfast coffee and to brace myself to look at the news headlines. I didn’t read yesterday and felt guilty at avoiding but crying is not helpful. Giving money is the best I can do and praying but I feel helpless. We will have a family arrive here soon so I have sorted out some nice bed linen and other bits.
Hope those caring and unwell receive the best of attention.

LauraNorderr Thu 17-Mar-22 08:43:04

Have the best day you can folks ???

LauraNorderr Thu 17-Mar-22 08:41:46

Top of the morning and a happy St Patrick’s Day to Mick, to all our Irish Grans and to everyone else from me on a cold but dry Anglesey.
Hope your daughter gets some encouraging news today chrissielou. Hope your daughter hears about her op soon Gingster, the waiting is awful. Good luck tomorrow for your daughter Kitty when I believe her plan will be put in place.
Orlin had an eye procedure yesterday and is wandering about looking like a pirate with his eye patch oo arrh, looks quite sexy actually.
Goodness me Sar, wardrobe mistress, make up artist and super gran. Have fun.
Glad you’re now covid free Pitt and hope your symptoms aren’t too bad Ash, glad olddudders is looking after you, hope he too doesn’t succumb. Shame about the ballet but there’ll be other occasions.
I hear strains of Danny Boy and Irish Eyes are Smiling from Alexa, Orlin getting in to the mood. I’ll get up when I smell the bacon cooking!
Have the best you can folks ???

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

BlueSapphire Thu 17-Mar-22 08:39:13

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, very welcome after yesterday's torrential rain.

A lovely time at our wine evening yesterday; it was so good to be together again, and lots of news was shared. We tasted four very good bottles of rose, and then had a bottle of fizz, as one member is approaching a big milestone birthday!

Not much to deal with this morning, Sainsbury's delivery and hang some washing out, then an early lunch followed by ballet class. May go and pick up my cleaned duvet afterwards.

Take.it easy everyone, and enjoy this sunny At Patrick's Day.shamrockshamrockshamrock

Such long awaited good news about Nazanin ?

Stilllearning Thu 17-Mar-22 08:32:05

Morning from S Lanarkshire, will read later, just want to wish everyone Happy St Patrick’s day!

So lovely to wake up to a happy picture for a change, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe being reunited with her family, God bless them.

Have the best day possible ???

brook2704 Thu 17-Mar-22 08:26:07

I’ll be thinking of you and your DD today Chrissielou and hoping all goes well ?

Pittcity Thu 17-Mar-22 08:22:45

Good morning from sunny but chilly Colchester. DH has got the hose out on the windows and patio. Both are covered in dust after yesterday's rain.
I have reached day 10 of Covid and have finally tested negative.
We are going to celebrate by going for a drive. There is a third of a tank in the car and we are trading it in on Monday so we need to use it or lose it. Maybe a garden centre as I have vouchers.
Love to all ☘️?x

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Mar-22 08:05:18

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° with blue skies. Ashcombe I hope you feel better soon. ?. My mum and dad got engaged on St Patrick's Day. Every year after, he would buy her roses. I do it now for her. Gagagran enjoy your afternoon tea outing. Brook you'll know that road blindfold! Have a lovely holiday. Chrissielou fingers crossed for your daughter.
Yesterday was the return of 'difficult mum.' Nothing I said or did was right so I cut my visit short. Joy was had when I picked up dgs1 from playgroup. He's very excited about starting nursery next week. I was a train again and he gave me lots of cuddles and wanted to sit on my knee. Naturally I obliged.
Today is a quiet day. My son in law has an appointment with a consultant to discuss his recent endoscopy. He's quietly anxious about what will be said. I'm anxious for him too. Other than that, I will potter around. Have a good day all.

Grandmajean Thu 17-Mar-22 08:04:16

Good morning from Cheshire.
Cold but sunny.
So many people waiting for results or going through difficult treatments. My very best wishes to all of you.
Son has tested positive for Covid and GS coughing so he will have a PCR test today.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 17-Mar-22 08:00:01

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

I will get the last holiday wash out on the line today. Then late morning I have a dentist appt. Root canal ?
Nothing much planned later apart from phone catch ups with a couple of friends.
