This is the first St. Patrick’s day since I discovered part of my roots are in Ireland. I had no inkling of that before.
I’m off to look for something green to wear.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ to all.

I’ll wear green today too in memory of my dear Grandma who used to send bunches of shamrock for us to wear after we had moved over here.

Happy St Patrick's Day!
It brings back memories of celebrating the day at my Catholic primary school in the middle of Birmingham. Wearing shamrock distributed by the parish priest, going to mass and singing, Hail Glorious St Patrick dear Saint of our Isle.
It never struck me as odd at the time.
Admittedly there was a fair sized Irish population in the area but we also had children from India, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Holland.

I’ll wear green today too in memory of my dear Grandma who used to send bunches of shamrock for us to wear after we had moved over here.

It was my mother's cousin, who used to send it, Baubles in a little green box! I then wore a sprig to school, as a child.
I mentioned on the GM thread, thatt a colleague used to hand it out in school, for those of Irish descent.
We wore it like a badge of honour! ☘️

I will be out celebrating tonight, I’m currently staying with my lovely Irish daughter in law and son in Cheshire, I am Irish but born here.
It’s an extended holiday in Ireland, they are making up for Covid, I think the Guinness may run out!

?Happy St. Patrick’s Day?

17th March was my late Mother’s birthday. I will be buying a bunch of roses to mark the date?

The only Irish connection I have is being a Celt and enjoying the company of Marydoll and Baubles ???
