Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but looks cold outside , I had a good look at what had happened in the mirror ,and looks like a few weeks out of normal action allowing the scars to heal .
I should have had a Glaucoma Eye test at the outpatients in the hospital today , I am cancelling as it looks like a black eye on the right eye .
Plus I need to visit the opticians not fare away for new glasses .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from cloudy Yorkshire, i can cope with cloud, its the rain that is depressing.

Meeting my cousin this am for coffee and natter in a fabulous cafe in a fabulous little town.

Yesterday we took our visitors on a sightseeing drive and ended up at a place called Hebden Bridge, it was very busy. The sun shone, it was beautiful. Lots of people sat outside pavement cafes, lots of street musicians, street food and a market was on, stalls selling home produced foods and crafts. I like to see these but i never ever approach and view the goods unless i am certain of buying, I think its because i don't want to build the stall holder up thinking they getting a sale, for me to then walk away causing disappointment....... hate the thought i have upset someone...

Anyway, enjoy your day everyone...

Morning everyone. ? for GM and CL. Testing times for you both. I was awakened to the sound of a neighbour scraping ice from car. Memories! Ain't retirement grand in that respect?! My day will be tinged with a little bit of sadness as son1 returns South this evening. However we've had a fun and delightful time together so I will wear big girl pants and count my blessings. Another little boost was a small win on the lottery. Don't usually participate but it was aforementioned son's birthday so splashed out. Nice one! Think we'll finish off last night's scrabble game then go for a riverside walk. Hope you all have at least one high point today. Cheers!

Good Morning everyone from the Scottish Borders. A hard frost today. I forgot to bring the washing in so the towels are stiff with ice. However it will be a sunny day and perfect for the U3A walk this am. I must put a picnic together.

Poor Mick you must have fallen badly when you blacked out.
Is someone keeping an eye on you? I hope so.

Marydoll that is not good at all. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

grandMattie. Sending you virtual hugs and flowers and extra strength to deal with whatever happens. flowers

Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright frosty Hull but a beautiful day promised again.
Mick so sorry hearing about your injuries from your blackout.
grandMattie ?
Chrissielou ? you will be a rock for your daughter but I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. I’ll be thinking of you both today.

Today is a Zoom yoga and later pick up DGS from school. We bought him a new two wheel scooter yesterday so he’ll have that to play on later.
Take care everyone ? for all with worries. Hope Monday brings everyone a moment of joy?

Good morning from a sunny but frosty Colchester. One of those days when layers are needed as it's going to warm up later.
Picking up a new car this morning. We ordered it last June and had almost given up hope. DH is faffing with the old one atm. I expect we'll go for a drive to test it out and we need a bit of shopping.

Sending hugs to Mick, GM and all who need one. Love to all ?x

harrigran Mon 21-Mar-22 08:17:07

Good morning from a sunny but cool NE.
My friend said she would come and visit today, I have really missed her over the last two years.
Thinking of grandMattie and wishing her DH a speedy recuperation from his present health issue.
Had a lazy day yesterday, watched two films both based on real life events.
Look after yourselves.

LauraNorderr Mon 21-Mar-22 08:20:06

Good luck to your son Jax, hope the op goes well.
Sensible and thoughtful to avoid direct contact for a while after your ping Stilllearning, hope you avoid the virus.
The paella looks scrumptious Urms.
Just looked out of the window, there’s a crow sitting on the electric cable with a little mouse hanging form it’s mouth. Oh well I suppose that’s it’s bacon bap equivalent.
Hope there are some random pink flamingos for everyone today
??

Good morning from a very promising looking sky in South Yorkshire. Sending love to all those with problems ?.
I am still grounded with covid and now quite snotty so more gardening and sewing planned. Maybe a bit of housewifery if I'm feeling particularly enthusiastic ?
Have a good day all x

Ashcombe Mon 21-Mar-22 09:05:13

Aldom Mon 21-Mar-22 09:06:14

Chrissielou flowers flowers. For you and your daughter.

merlotgran Mon 21-Mar-22 09:19:37

Good morning everyone from a not quite sunny South Hants. More painting and gardening on the cards for today.

I remember when this thread first started and we were all younger and fitter. Now we seem to be collectively dealing with the challenges of older age not just for us but also our loved ones - even our younger loved ones. No wonder they say it’s not for the feint hearted.

Thinking of those who need that extra bit of courage x

Grandmadinosaur Mon 21-Mar-22 09:24:51

Hope the op goes ok Jaxjacky

Sending love and strength today to Chrissielou and your DD ?

luluaugust Mon 21-Mar-22 09:54:50

Good morning from a sunny W Kent, frost earlier so chill in the air.
Another GC down with Covid, one DGS has a job interview and another DGS a driving test so busy day for the family.
I am cleaning and then will take books and mags to the doorstep of DD with Covid.
So sorry to hear all the various problems as merlotgran says not for the faint hearted.

EkwaNimitee Mon 21-Mar-22 09:59:54

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where it was a frosty -1C at 7am.
I spent most of yesterday afternoon out in the garden, put 2 more plants in then sat out in my t-shirt(!) with coffee and a book. I'm thinking of getting my summer clothes out of storage or is that asking for trouble?!
Today is dealing with laundry and housework and probably admin in the afternoon. I'll give my back a rest from hacking holes in the garden though it seems to be bearing up quite well at the moment.
I do hope your DH is soon sorted and back home grandMattie and that you can rest up a bit meanwhile.
Have the best possible day everyone.

Megs36 Mon 21-Mar-22 10:07:11

Good morning all, sorry to hear of sadness and worry to you.

Continuing the dental theme! Last week saw the last couple of extractions for me,now a wait for new denture fitting. Takes longer than some becauseNHS which is brilliant, could never have afforded private, but no problem with appointments pleased to say, no front teeth not a pretty sight.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 21-Mar-22 10:11:45

A bit of a late morning to you all. West Oxfordshire looks grey but it isn’t cold. Since having a positive COVID test yesterday I am now stuck at home for a while. I have a bunged up nose and a cough. I also feel tired. I can’t imagine I’ll be fit enough to go to London on Wednesday to listen to my daughter’s choir. She might not be there anyway as she also has COVID! I heard from my sister in Sydney today. She knows loads of people with COVID. Since their restrictions were lifted it is spreading rapidly. Rather like here. I said on another thread that there were six of us at a friends house last Monday. Four of us now have COVID. The fifth lady had it recently and we don’t know about the sixth. She is 70 and hasn’t been vaccinated.

Nannagarra Mon 21-Mar-22 10:13:21

Mattie sending a big hug. While Mr M’s in hospital, will you allow yourself to take a deep breath in a cosy armchair and have some R and R?
I hope all goes well for your son Jax.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 21-Mar-22 10:16:42

My DH had his cataract removed yesterday, is now feeling a bit sorry for himself. How that op has changed! When I had them done 10 years ago, I wore a patch for a couple of days and more so at night.
Yesterday had DGS who managed to find the face paints and managed to plaster his face a variety of colours
Have the best day you can folks!

Auntieflo Mon 21-Mar-22 10:19:34

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. So sorry to hear of your black out incident Mick, ?that you heal well and don't forget to phone the Dr.
Had a good day yesterday and managed to get to Church for the first time in ages. Also picked up my new shoes that I had ordered.
Sending loving thoughts to GrandMattie, hoping that she has a peaceful day and that her DH is made comfortable in hospital.
Thinking of the daughters of Ginster and ChrissieLou.
Hqve a good day one and all.

hollysteers Mon 21-Mar-22 10:48:44

Good morning Mick and all from a now dull northwest coast.
Sorry to hear you have been in the wars Mick, thoughts to grandMattie for these difficult days and to those with worries re their DDs.
A night full of dreams of old times and friends sorely missed, was rather sorry to wake up.
Admin and house await.

Blossoming Mon 21-Mar-22 10:59:07

Good morning Mick and everyone. Another sunny day in my corner of Lancashire, currently 9°C.

I must ring the hospital some time this week and find out the blood test results. We are visiting a nature reserve today after lunch.

Hope you’re resting after yesterday Mick and your bruises soon fade.

Virtual hugs to you Grandmattie, hope you can get the crowns sorted and your DH is feeling better.

Thinking of Chrissielou and Jaxjacky hope the hospital visits of their DD and DS go well.

Whatever you’re doing I hope you all have a good day and find a random flamingo or two ??

May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief.

grandMattie Mon 21-Mar-22 11:35:35

DH is home. Got @ call at 0830 to collect him! He was very sad at how hard the A&E staff were working -apparently, it was manic, overflowing, so unfortunately he didn’t get a drip until 0430 this morning. He was in a chair the whole time. He’s now safely home, tucked up in bed, dozing until the district nurse comes to sort out the syringe driver.
Thank you for all your good wishes.
Just look outside and count your blessings.
Don’t you remember “Ne’er cast a clout till May is out”, Ekwi? And by May, it’s the flower or hawthorn which needs to be out! Beware…
