e-scooters WARNING

I got a green light in traffic the other day and almost collided with a girl on one of the orange scooters who just rode across the road in front of the traffic, glaring at the cars that had right of way!

Several people have been killed on them. They weave in and out of traffic, kids not wearing helmets , on the pavements - everywhere. I know it’s illegal- but why aren’t any of them stopped?

And as far as I am aware they are still illegal unless they are part of a pilot scheme or similar when they can be used on public streets (and not the pavements) otherwise they can only be used on private lands.
I don't know whether places like Halfords are making sure that purchasers are aware of this fact or are they just interested in making sales?
I think a 14 year old was killed the other day when she came off one of them. And they are so quiet so you don't hear them when they're being used on pavements.

e-scooters can do 22mph (or 35kms) per hour,
after adjustments.
