Haha love your mug Grandmadinosaur hope you feel better tomorrow and your DH can sail through it if it’s hitting him too.
What do you find yourself avoiding more as you get older?
High CO2 levels in classrooms are a silent barrier to learning
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,and the moment but looks dry and cold outside .
Today I see my optician as getting replacement glasses.
The facial scars are vanishing , thanks to using Vaseline.
Tempted to travel further this week , but weather forecast looks Winter Part 2 for many .
Take Care,
Mick
Haha love your mug Grandmadinosaur hope you feel better tomorrow and your DH can sail through it if it’s hitting him too.
Good morning from a misty Leicestershire.
I am now in my 4 th day of Covid and feel much better.
Lucky really as my DH is quite poorly.
Still sad to have missed my DGS’s 4 th birthday and the planned Mothers Day lunch in Brighton but I had lovely phone calls with the family.
My DD is trying to persuade us to go to Australia in November to meet her in-laws.
Sorry to hear you have relapsed kitty.
I have been reading with dismay of your DH’s trials and hope you can have him home again soon GrandMattie. I look forward to seeing the rug!
Safe travels Ashcombe I love visiting France.
Susan56: I remember only too well the sad incidents involving deer but it’s surprising to hear of one actually on the outskirts of Stafford! How distressing for you. I’ve had a few near misses around Milford back in the day and DH1 ran into one when driving a car we’d only bought a few weeks earlier.
Safely on board and on our way now. Thank you for all the kind good wishes. ?
Morning from high cloud in S Hants, I caught up with my lost hour of sleep. Better news for your DH gMattie you’ll magic that rug in no time.
Off to Salisbury hospital this afternoon for check up on son’s arm, he’s hoping the cast can come off.
Hoping your DD gets her date Gingster.
Safe journey to travellers.
Enjoy your day all ??
Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday was another sunny day and I was able to put the garden furniture to use.
DS and GD2 visited and we sat in the garden for coffee and cake.
DD and SIL came a little later and joined us, it was DD's birthday. SIL still struggles to get comfortable and yesterday was the first day he hadn't been to bed in the afternoon. He showed us his scar, my goodness 20cm long plus the scar where they had put the laprascope in too.
DD wasn't sure he could stay long but I cooked a beef joint and he managed a small meal.
SIL very kindly updated my computer security while he was here.
Need to contact my sister today, it would have been her DH's 82nd birthday.
Take care.
Good morning from Derbyshire where we have the last day of sunshine for a few days.
After a bad start, with DH spilling his coffee all over our newish cream fabric sofa ?, yesterday turned out to be a nice day with DS bringing home made cupcakes, biscuits and a box of wax melts and DD giving me a lovely lavender for the garden. DD and family really appreciated the roast dinner I cooked - the first good and healthy food they had eaten in days! I cobbled together a chocolate croissant bread and butter style pudding for afterwards, which was delicious.
Our youngest grandson is coming to see us this afternoon. He'll enjoy being outside kicking his football.
Hope Monday is a good day for all.
We were just on the edge of Milford when it happened Ash.It must have been awful actually hitting one.
The deer seem to be getting braver.During lockdown they were actually wandering along DD’s road.
Safe travels.
Good morning Mick and everyone from grey wet Carlisle. At least it means I don't have to go out and water the new plantings.
I spent yesterday afternoon in the garden in the hot sun! Put a shrub in and then sat and read a book. Today is the usual laundry and housework morning and then a sort through my wardrobes to find something suitable to wear for the birthday lunch this weekend. I'm not buying anything new but do I have anything appropriate for trendy Islington?!
I hope they soon sort your DH grandMattie, it's sounding promising.
And the best possible day to you all.
No Matt - it’s Monday.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s bright, seems mild, perhaps a little cooler. I was up around 4am coughing for England. Made myself a cuppa, went back to bed then slept in till 9am! Oh well, I must have needed it.
No plans at all. Good. Will do a second LFT today and get a cough bottle from the p pharmacy downstairs. Should have got one yesterday really.
Himself has just made me a brew. So many posts to read - lovely. Enjoy Monday all who can. x
Just stunning grandMattie
Good morning everyone from another dull and Misty day in Oxfordshire, the sun didn’t come out at all yesterday.
Forgot that I have a much deferred hair dressers appointment at 10, she comes to me but I must dash, hope she doesn’t mind that I’m still coughing, but I am testing negative so it’s all gone away, just left me feeling under the weather, masks will be on though.
Will read the posts later
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from the Black country looks like it will be a nice day again although not going anywhere after positive result yesterday. Slept most of yesterday had terrible headache something I don't normally suffer with, woke up this morning with the feeling of very heavy cold.
Will read through posts later.
Take care all, safe travels anyone travelling, best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed may you all find some ?.
grandMattie that is so gorgeous I wish I had your talent x
What a lovely view to wake up to every morning dragonfly!
I loved the little donkey mug Grandmadinosaur you made me laugh about the ears!
I’m just sharing this one. From the Telegraph today:
“Jugilee
Potter Simon Willis holds a jug he has created for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at his Stoke ceramics workshop.”
(I love the corgi as the handle!).
Lovely view dragonfly
Good morning from W Kent where the mist is rolling off the river.
Lovely visit from DS yesterday in the morning and then FaceTime with DD1 and an unexpected afternoon visit from DD2 now testing negative, we decided not to hug. All quite unplanned.
The cover is absolutely beautiful G Mattie, I hope your DH is home again soon.
Good wishes to all struggling along, lets hope for a bit of sun today.
Late good morning from me. It is very grey and misty here in Essex by the sea.
I did a test this morning and it is still showing a faint red line. Hopefully tomorrow it might be negative. I woke up with a headache but feeling better.
Younger daughter's husband now has covid, it is really doing the rounds.
DH has gone to clear out the boat that is now sold ready for it's new owners to take over on Wednesday. I am going to go with him tomorrow, the first time I will have been out since last Monday.
I've just made a fruit cake which is cooking in the oven, I haven't made one for a long time, hope it tastes good.
Take care and wrap up warm everyone winter is returning this week xxx
Good morning everyone from a now sunny south coast.
DD gave me a very pretty bird bath bowl which you can place on any surface because she knew I liked the pedestal that was already in my garden but the bowl was cracked.
I was concerned that the clumsy resident pigeons would knock it off so have cemented it to the circular top! It ain’t going anywhere now. ?
My new (to me) car is arriving this morning. Yippee! I hate being without wheels.
Hope everyone has a good day, especially those who are troubled. X
Good morning from sunny East Renfrewshire. I’ve been here since Friday and probably staying till Wednesday. It’s been really good having extended time with the DGC. I’d forgotten how much young families pack into the day and my admiration for working parents is even greater. I did work, part time when they were small and full time later but children then didn’t have so many activities scheduled, I seem to remember they went out to play a lot!
Your quilt looks lovely grandMattie, I hope things improve for your DH soon.
Enjoy France Ashcombe, a definite twinge of envy here!
A lot of friends have Covid now, none too ill thankfully. I have an appointment for my booster two weeks today so I hope I manage to avoid it between now and then.
Wishing everyone a good day???
Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is cloudy and cool today.
No visitors for Mother’s Day yesterday because of Covid and chicken pox at DS’s home but there’s the promise of a bottle of fancy gin. He sent me a picture ?. DD sent flowers and we will celebrate with them when we visit next weekend. ( As long as we are negative)
A garden is never finished but ours is close. It’s 2 1/2 years since we moved in and other than planting a few things out after this cold spell and sowing veg seeds, it’s mostly done! It was lovely to sit and enjoy it yesterday.
Housework today - I can ignore it no longer!
Love your quilt GM - you are so quick at piecing. I hope to start DD’s cot quilt soon.
Best wishes to everyone with cares and I hope the day is kind to us all.
Good morning Mick and everyone. A cloudy day in my corner of Lancashire, currently 11°C.
Last week I took advantage of the dry sunny weather to wash the heavy winter stuff ready to pack away for the summer. Looks like I’ll need to put some of it back in the wardrobe…
I’m sneezing this morning, pollen levels are on the up and it’s hayfever time. Another daily pill to add to the mix.
Glad your DH is improving Grandmattie, I hope things continue in that vein. That rug is beautiful.
Covid still affecting many of us and our families, hope everyone is soon on the mend.
Whatever you’re doing I hope you all have a good day and find a random flamingo or two ??
Hope your daughter gets a date Ginster.had a lovely day yesterday sonoutlaw made crispy chicken it was really tasty e enjoyed seeing his parents and gc .GM the throw is beautiful . Take care all .
Good morning Mick and all from a clouding over northwest coast.
Had a lovely few days as DD up from the south, had birthday meal in lovely restaurant with fambo ? then on to Mothers Day and the house looks like a florists. Only cloud on the horizon was acute cramp after meal with wine which went on all night meaning little sleep. Cramp and old war wound stomach getting worse…
DD so helpful organising a new larger iPad for me as well as rearranging my sky to talk talk at a lower rate, spending so much time on it when her visit was a short one.
Might have a walk in the sand dunes and paint a birthday card.
Not going into names, but thoughts to all going through the mill at the moment ?
