How do you get rid of flat glass?

We are not allowed to put broken glass in recycling bin. I would safely wrap it in something and take it to the council tip and ask the staff there.

I don't understand either, when it all gets tipped into the recycling lorry with a crash.

ask the recyclers if you can pop it in glass portion of the lorry.
I did it with a few panes of green house glass and they were quite happy for me to put the glass into the glass section.

I’ve always put all glass in our glass recycling bin with bottles, jars etc. Never a problem.

Not sure if this type of glass should go in the recycling bin. That is for kitchen items, i.e. bottles and jars.

I know Pyrex and similar is unsuitable.

I've never understood why broken plate glass can't go into the glass recycling bin along with jars etc. Is it a different kind of glass?
We end up wrapping it in newspaper and binning it.

It would be wrong to put it in the mixed glass bottle bin wouldn't it?
I would probably put it out and try to catch them to see if it's ok.

Check your council website where they will probably have details of how to dispose of it.

I think it's different if it's broken glass. Small amounts that can be triple wrapped in newspaper is ok in a general waste bin. Also different councils have different ideas. Best. to find out from them.

Local council waste management site. Ours is brilliant very organised maybe ring them up first.

We have glass/tins recycling bins,and the local tip does too,i would pop to your local tip,it`s free.

If you have a glass collection bin then put it in that. Alternatively, take it to the recycling centre but I don't think it should go to landfill, glass simply does not degrade does it?

I would just take it to the tip and put it into the 'Landfill' bin. There are always operatives there who can tell you where tto put it, if that is the wrong bin.

Ring your council recycling! Look at their website for number.

I'd safely set it aside until collection day when you can ask the refuse collectors.
