Good afternoon to you all. Do hope that you will feel a bit better soon Mick and feel able to go out again , but take your time , I find that if I try to push myself too early it rather backfires on me so just take a little walk first and build up, and hope you will soon feel fine travelling again. Good news Grand Mattie and I am glad you had a bit better time. Every good day is worth it. I am still waking up about 4.20am and then falling asleep in the evening which is very annoying but the painkillers wear off and that is what wakes me so early |I think. Anyway holding my breath a bit, as have had my last antibiotic, which is good, but now have a rash and am generally more red and itchy all over my body rather than just the leg. But had my shower with the special non soap stuff and then sat in my dressing gown looking at emails and sending stuff just to keep me from madly scratching and itching, which was driving me crazy. I know I just need to see how this settles down and am glad to be off the medication, but had planned to go out for some things but just couldnt face going out while I was so itchy. So ended up doing a few things and then watched the duke of edinboroughs service and singing along with the hymns, but also I have actually done quite a lot of putting dates on calendars, making notes of appointments, and ripping up out of date stuff. so at least it is quite cheering to see the big bag of recycling stuff, the smaller amount of stuff in a bag that I shall take to a friend who has a fire and will burn address bits and otgher private things. My goodness you can actually see some semblence of order in some - not all , I dont change that much- shelves and drawers etc. So I do actually feel I have achieve a bit today, other than the basic getting up and getting myself fed etc. wished I could have gone outside but at least can see the daffodils outside and some lovely magnolia blossom across in another garden. They are threatening frost and possibly even snow, so hope the magnolia will survive it but think it might get spoilt. Never mind it is beautiful today. A bit more daylight and some lovely flowers helps the day along.
Good wishes to you all today

I haven't been directly exposed to Covid, Tina, I am extremely careful and would never dream of putting people in a restaurant at risk. I also had a negative LFT this morning. My husband's golfing partner was in close contact in a car, with my neighbour with who did not let on about the family Covid situation and that he had refused to test.
That is why we are being extremely careful, especially as the neighbour is also my granddaughter's other grandfather. My granddaughter and I are CEV, so know exactly what the risks are.
We are very angry at his behaviour.
I hope this clarifies the situation.

Tina49 Tue 29-Mar-22 12:26:49

What a nuisance about your neighbour, Marydoll. I hope the Italian restaurant isn’t crowded if you’ve maybe been exposed to Covid.

Good morning from a very foggy East Midlands. A brisk walk and some photos taken.

hollysteers Tue 29-Mar-22 11:22:50

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers, northwest coast.
Hope you soon feel back to your old self Mick and thinking of grandMattie at this time as well as those with worries about their DDs. Have a successful trip Ashcombe, it’s nice to have a change, even though it entails a bit of bother.
Quiet day yesterday after family staying and I practised new songs and painted cards. Heating off, so a bit chilly here facing the Irish Sea…
Have a good day everyone.
Card painted yesterday.

Merlotgran that’s how our Covid started, negative one evening, then positive the next morning.

Good morning everyone from a drizzly south coast.

I woke up with swollen glands and the beginnings of a sore throat. LFT is negative so I suspect a wobbly back tooth is to blame. Hey Ho!
The fox made a midnight visit to my garden and ripped the hatch off the bottom of my almost full compost bin, scattering most the contents all over the paving at the end of the garden. He will have been disappointed not to find any food as I’m a bit passionate about my compost making. At least he turned it for me!

I was not amused to be shovelling it all back in before the rain starts again. The hatch needs fixing before tonight as well. ?

Thinking of all with family worries, especially kitty. It never rains but it pours.

Good morning from a dull and wet Oxfordshire, nothing much on today, lunch out was cancelled yesterday due to a friend of a friend testing positive.
At least I had my hair done yesterday. All I did was sit, but I was exhausted afterwards, 3 hours of talking is such a rarity for me!
However I downloaded some more free Kindle books, so not a complete waste of a day.

Wishing everyone with family illnesses a better day today.

Hugs for those who aren’t feeling so chipper.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 9°C.

Mr. B is taking me shopping this morning so have only skimmed the thread. Will catch up later.

Wishing you a the best day possible.

Good morning all from the Black country, having not long woke up haven't read through yet. The one thing with this covid is I'm sleeping well also not disturbed by DH nightly bathroom trips as I'm in spare room.
If I can summon the energy the iron is looking lonely will see how I feel.
Glad to see you arrived safe Ash and the crossing was smooth.
GM your quilt looks amazing and so nice to hear your DH is managing to keep some food down.
Will read everyone's happenings later, take care all and may you all find some ?.

harrigran Tue 29-Mar-22 09:19:17

Good morning from the NE where it is overcast again and much cooler.
I am preparing for a holiday, hopefully it will go ahead at the weekend.
I had a text to say our surgery will be doing booster appointments from 4th April so vaccination number four coming up.
Good to hear your DH managed some food grandMattie, such a worry watching loved ones struggle with eating.
Have the best day you can.

Good morning all from cloudy and chilly South Lanarkshire.

So many worries here today, still so many people quite ill with covid. Sending good wishes to you all and your families.

Don’t wear yourself out gM. Beautiful photo Ash. We have to find joy where we can.

MD your neighbour is unbelievably selfish. Enjoy your lunch.

I’m having a quiet day, I’ve had vertigo since yesterday morning and I’m just trying to keep a full blown attack at bay.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??

GrannySomerset Tue 29-Mar-22 08:56:11

Back to a grey morning with a supermarket trip the highlight of the day.

Enjoyed my visitors yesterday but was wiped out by evening as had obviously talked far too much and run the batteries down.

Thinking of grandMattie today and everyone living with illness and worry.

dragonfly46 Tue 29-Mar-22 08:52:31

Gingster!

dragonfly46 Tue 29-Mar-22 08:52:02

Good morning from misty Leicestershire.

I love the garden Ashcombe.
I hope your DD gets some answers soon Ginster it is a worrying time.
Pleased to hear your DH is perking up a little GrandMattie and that the meetings today bring some positive news.
That is worrying that DGS has Covid kitty. Not everyone gets it - I got it at a lunch with friends. One person tested positive the day after but I was the only other who got it out of 8 of us.

Nothing much happening here - day 5 of Covid, feeling heaps better except for intermittent back ache.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

BlueSapphire Tue 29-Mar-22 08:25:30

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, what a change from yesterday.

I am at the moment sitting with my phone on hold with the surgery. Phoned on the dot at 8am, and I was number 30 in the queue; I am now at 16. Yesterday when I phoned at precisely 2pm, I was told that all available phone slots were taken. Appointments are like gold dust!

Spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden finishing off the lawn edges, then got the mower out.

A morning of pottering, then health walk this afternoon followed by coffee in the little cafe. Be nice to have company.

Well, now down to 7th in the queue, so hopefully not long now, and that's only to speak to a receptionist!

Wishing all a pleasant day, and a bit of freedom from worries and cares.

Jaxjacky Tue 29-Mar-22 08:21:46

Good morning from a damp, grey S Hants. A better day for your DH gMattie a difficult day ahead for you ?.
Think we’ve sailed that ship a few times Ashcombe good you’re ‘home’ safely.
A bit irresponsible of your neighbour MD, causing others concern too.
So, so frustrating Gingster
Son and I were at Salisbury hospital again yesterday, he’s happy as the cast is off, splint on for three weeks, video consult in a week, back there in three weeks.
MrJ is off work today, we had some garden plans, the weather may curtail that.
Enjoy your day all, thoughts with poorly ones, maybe a glimpse of some ??.

kittylester Tue 29-Mar-22 08:11:50

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

DH is mostly recovered from his dose of Covid but DS1 and I are still under the weather

More worryingly, DGS3 has tested positive. It is his mum (DD1) who has breast cancer. Poor Seb is banished from anywhere but his bedroom, the playroom and one bathroom. We offered to have him here but he opted to stay at home in isolation. I think it is almost inevitable that DD will become infected and her op be postponed

DD3 is really poorly but testing -ve even though her daughter has tested +ve. She has requested a pcr.

Sending love and support to everyone who needs it.

Grandmajean Tue 29-Mar-22 08:11:47

Good morning from Cheshire.
We are still enjoying sunshine. Long may it continue.
DS and DGS now negative for Covid but son still getting tired quickly which he finds offensive ! He thought he would be the exception and shake it off .
Thinking of those with family and health worries. We all want to shoulder those for our children.

NannyJan53 Tue 29-Mar-22 08:04:00

Good morning from a cloudy and chillier Black Country.

Yesterday started the same, but an hour into our Monday walk the sun shone. We ended the walk in a local pub with coffee and cake to celebrate our walk leaders birthday.

The afternoon was spent enjoying sitting out in the garden in the sun reading.

Enjoy your trip to Stratford NanKate. Not been for a while, and it is only a short train ride, so must visit again soon.

What a wonderful garden Ashcombe, glad you arrived safely.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow,

Pleased to hear slightly better news today, GM. A very tiring day ahead for you.
I'm sorry, you have lost your confidence, Mick. Is there a friend, or perhaps your brother, who could accompany you on your travels, just for a bit of support?

I had yet another bad night, due to pain and family worries. The night terrors continue.
DIL's mother, our next door neighbour, has been very unwell with Covid since Thursday, but she kept it quiet initially, even from DIL.
Into the bargain, until last night and despite much nagging from us all, her father had refused to test, saying if he didn't test, he wouldn't know and could continue to go about his business.
I was shocked at his selfish and totally irresponsible attitude, when after I offered him a box of LFTs, he refused them, (he had none, despite them still being readily available in Scotland)? There was no need, as he wouldn't be testing, despite him having serious health issues.

Last night, he tested positive and DIL, who is unwell herself, (not Covid) is so upset, at how reckless, he has been. She was in tears last night.
I won't go into any more details, but for various reasons, he has put a number of us at risk. We are all now having to test on a daily basis, as three of us are CEV.

Yesterday DD and SIL sold their flat. They had a dozen viewings, all keen to buy, until Japanese knotweed was discovered close by, so it has been a worrying and stressful couple of weeks.
The will be moving in with us in May, until they find a new home. Heaven help us! I may move into a hotel. ?

Although the weather isn't great, DH has surprisingly offered to take me a run down the coast to Ayr, for lunch in our favourite Italian restaurant, as a belated Mothers' day treat (the children were all away, so it was unusually quiet here) and to give me a boost.
I take back everything I said, about living with Victor Meldrew!!!

Hoping the Covid warriors are not suffering too much and special thoughts for the mums and MILs, supporting very unwell family members. I can offer no appropriate words, just that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Enjoy your day, everyone.

Nannytopsy Tue 29-Mar-22 07:57:28

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s grey in Suffolk this morning. Yesterday’s grey start turned into another lovely day but it can’t keep happening. I hope you are out and about soon Mick.
I have an X-ray today on a painful hip and I want to do some shopping too while I am in town. DGS is 6 on Thursday but she has so much stuff that we really don’t know what birthday present to get.
We have been on the Barfleur too! We shall come back from France Cherbourg to Poole in May. I wonder which boat that will be? Your garden looks lovely Ash.
Well, time to make a start.
I hope the day is kind to everyone, particularly Gm.

Chris3 Tue 29-Mar-22 07:57:25

Good morning from a foggy South Yorkshire. Visit to my mother today to take her shopping. Had a bit of a health scare last week but seems to be on the mend now.
Glad your husband is improving a little Grandmattie ?
Love to all and have a good day x

Sar53 Tue 29-Mar-22 07:54:35

Good morning from another grey day in Essex by the sea.
My test this morning was negative, 10 days after my first symptoms. I haven't left home since Monday of last week so a walk to the chemist this morning.
I have a pile of ironing to tackle and a casserole to make for dinner.
Have the best Tuesday you can everyone xxx
