Beautiful memorial service for Prince Philip

I have one comment to make, I really liked Catherine's hat, in the words of Rod Stewart she wore it well! Thought she looked great, didn't watch the service.

Some of the older members of the RF look frail now, especially the Duke of Kent. Princess Michael is still very stylish though.

Prince Michael has also aged a lot, and Princess Michael looked a bit tottery on her high heels. You tend to forget how old they are all getting to be.

I thought it was a beautiful service, and so pleased the Queen could attend. I can't help but think that this may have been the last time we see her at such big event. Especially when they sung The National Anthem, very emotional. We are approaching the end of an era.

I know there are the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations to come, not sure what will happen then.

I thought it was a lovely service and so good to see some younger members of the family.
I agree that some of the older members look very frail and also how lovely Lady Louise looked.
I am so pleased that the Queen was able to attend, a very dignified lady.
I also think it very disrespectful of Harry not to be there considering he is going to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games in the next week or so.

The memorial service was all about family from start to finish, in the wider sense too.
I think I get the message The Queen was giving.

I didn’t see it as I’m in Portugal at the moment, but I saw a few bits on BBC World. I hope to see it when we get back.
I’ve recently decided, after a lot of thought, that I think we should move towards being a republic, but I do like watching these royal occasions. It appeared to me, but I could be completely wrong, that guests were given a dress code of grey or navy blue. Only the three main ladies were in green, the Queen, Camilla, and Princess Anne.
I agree that Prince Andrew should be there, totally. It’s his father. We will obviously continue to see him at certain functions, weddings, funerals, etc. He has every right to be there.

It was lovely to see our own royal family alongside all the foreign relations, together to pay tribute to Prince Philip. I am so pleased the Queen was able to be there. I'm sure it gave her great comfort.

The inclusion of so many different organisations was a fitting tribute to him.

Prince Andrew escorted his Mother through the side entrance (sorry cannot recall the correct name) away from the photographers and any crowds.

Beautiful and respectful service, lovely to see so many wearing green which was Prince Philip’s livery colour.

(He was in fact more royal than the Queen as he had kings and queens on both sides of his family, whereas the Queen only had them on one side)

Completely agree Snowberry, it was lovely. The family seem very united, apart from the black sheep of Montecito of course, giving the lie to that cruel and thoughtless description of a ‘dysfunctional family’ which is trotted out ad nauseam.
But I’m afraid the Republicans are currently gathering a head of steam, finding fault with the Caribbean tour and using it as an excuse to bash the Monarchy. We should be very careful what we wish for. I sometimes think other countries appreciate our Monarchy more than we do.

Agree Snowberry just what should have happened last year really. Of course prince Andrew had every right to be there
