Beautiful memorial service for Prince Philip

Just that really.
I thought the Queen looked amazing, considering the time she's had. She looked so dignified as well.
I sort of agree with PA helping her in. After all, he is her son and it's a memorial service for his father.
Also it's a way of showing certain absent members that 'this is what loyalty' in a family looks like.

The children were beautifully behaved and doesn't Princess Charlotte have a look of the Queen about her?shock

It does seem a bit sad that Harry wasnt there.
If this was any ordinary family I suppose we would be saying he has gone No Contact with Prince Charles and that he and the Queen are estrangedparents/grandparents!
Seems a bit cruel to do that to an old lady, in what could be one of her last public engagements.
But that is my opinion.
I'm sure the PH fanclub will be along in a minute to disagree. hmm

Other than that, it was a lovely service.

PECS. Has anyone defended Andrew on this thread ?
You think mocking a woman for crying at her grandfather’s
memorial service is fair criticism?

£81,000

Oh no. All my arguments are as nothing. How shall I get through the day ?

Gilly3 Sun 03-Apr-22 08:00:02

The funny hat was 11 years ago actually not 12.
The point was Beatrice graciously turned the criticism into something good and didn't throw her toys out of the pram.

It seems to be OK for Royalists to criticise H& M for what they have openly said & done but not OK for those, who do not revere the royals, to be critical of less senior members of the firm for faffing about in a 'job' for which they have no knowledge or experience. Or being critical of a mature man , photographed associating with a teenage girl in the company of convicted sex traffickers, who subsequently pays a huge sum of money to avoid a court case. confused

volver Sun 03-Apr-22 07:29:15

Can someone please explain how it is spiteful to publicly wonder how a person gets a job for which they have no qualifications, in an industry where they have no experience?

But it's ok to say that 12 years ago she wore a funny hat. Different level of debate, I guess.

the concluded followed by a completely irrelevant jibe

then concluded by a completely irrelevant jibe

eazybee Sun 03-Apr-22 04:34:29

I don't think it is possible to can sink much lower than attacking mourners visibly upset at a service commemorating their grandfather, by speculating that their tears were induced not by grief but because their father was accused of involvement in sex trafficking, apparently in receipt of payments from a dubious source, the concluded followed by a completely irrelevant jibe about the employment of one of them.
Neither Beatrice nor Eugenie have made public comments about their father's behaviour nor asked for sympathy; they do not deserve to be the butt of these spiteful and ill-judged comments.

Is that what they call a delayed reaction?

No.
Its just I've finally realised that you disrupt nearly every thread I've started.
Its taken me a while to wade through them all.

Perhaps you can give a list of the threads you've started that I've "disrupted". If you think I'm looking for your threads to "disrupt", you've a good conceit of yourself.

As for telling me that there's no thread I won't trash with my nastiness, well I imagine that could count as a personal attack. But I'm not the reporting type, so we'll just leave that there.

Oh no Volver, did you say something about liking baggy clothes or white trainers and floral dresses ? So nasty of you….

I liked it when Beatrice wore a funny hat to a Royal Wedding and got ridiculed for it. She proceeded to auction it and raised money for a (children's?) charity.

Yes, brilliant!
I think I really like the York girls.

Threats from these forthcoming memoirs aren't particularly edifying either. Trashing your own family for the whole world to see especially when a lot of what you are saying is simply not true, making money from this and your dead mother is extremely unattractive to put it mildly. To cause your very elderly grandmother and dying grandfather, whose only sin is to love you and try to accommodate you and your new wife, such hurt and grief is by any standards at best shabby and at worst cruel. Unbelievable and sad.

Gilly3 Sat 02-Apr-22 18:15:06

While on the subject did anyone else notice the comforting smile Aunty Beatrice gave a bewildered little Charlotte during the service? Sweet.

Anniebach Sat 02-Apr-22 18:08:56

Not only going on Oprah but telling so many lies in that interview

The double standards are that some people spend inordinate amounts of time criticising Meghan in the worst possible terms, because she deserves it so we can say anything about her. But say anything that is deemed disrespectful of Beatrice, and they're on you like a ton of bricks.

What's wrong with Beatrice? Leave her out of it.
What's she done to you?shock

Say what you like about the York girls.
No matter what certain members of their family may or may not have done, I doubt they'd ever go on Oprah blubbing about it, or even worse write a tacky book.

Volvo?

Is that a new poster?

snowberryZ Sat 02-Apr-22 17:57:20

It failed to quote.
(In response to Volvo saying she didnt)

And yet, the OP was largely about trashing the queen's grandson and poking fun at the people who take his part.

Take the plank from your own eye.

You're like a dog wirh a bone. You can't help yourself can you?
Is there ANY thread that you don't try and trash wirh your nastiness?

Some people were born into the right family, have some where to live, food to eat and a device to post on social media.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Apr-22 17:44:03

I think they've turned out remarkably well considering!
